Thank you for your contributions on Skepticism
[edit]Hi Ffffafsd, We’ve noticed that you edited articles related to Skepticism. Thank you for your great contributions. Keep it up! Bobo.03 (talk) 02:56, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Bobo.03: Hi, I have not edited articles related to Skepticism? Ffffafsd 03:22, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
- You made a (minor) edit to the Flat Earth article. I received the same message, also thought it a little strange, so I checked his edits: He's posting a lot of those, always in groups of five (five people thanked for articles related to Skepticism, five for Dinosaurs, for Bangladesh, for Crickets, AIDS etc..)
- His user page says: I'm doing research in social computing area to understand the underlying mechanisms of online user behaviors and interactions in online communities, such as Wikipedia, MOOC, etc. Right now, I am working on projects to create tools for WikiProjects, and help them engage new members.
- Either he's testing his tools, or he's running an experiment: testing whether thanking users encourages editing. I assume he will later check the edit history of the users to see if they became more active (in the area mentioned in the thank you message). He seems to select us based on number of edits, not the quality of our work I'm afraid .
- They're experimenting on us! ;-) Prevalence 15:01, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
