Hello, Mlpearc.I must respect your thought. But I need to say a thing. It is the policy - You have a history of requesting rights that you do not need or do not have any use for.I am presently a rollbacker and I use the tools almost regularly. The four file moves I had made were required renaming- to a more descriptive title, where the author, too requested. It will be fine if you kindly let me know when can I access the tools and can help the project. As per your edit notice says, please leave me a talkback message if you can. Please do not consider this to be rudeness, or don't take it otherwise.Thanking you, Dipankan In the woods? 15:41, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

ACC question
Hello Mlpearc. Is a user considered inactive on the ACC interface if they don't create an account in 45 days or if they don't log in for 45 days? Thanks. -- Luke (Talk) 19:38, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
Request for Account Creation Right
Its okay I will try it later, but will all your due respect I am disagree with your dis statment which is "Also as you mention more than once "I am quite busy in some other Wikipedia projects", When I say that I didn't say that, did you mix me with someone else. --Faizanalivarya (talk) 01:57, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- You stated that twice on your own talk page, don't see how that is disagreeable. Cheers, Mlpearc powwow 02:24, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
Account Creator Privileges
Per our discussion [1], I wanted to request tool privileges being reinstated so I can learn the new program and attempt to assist in the creation of accounts. Thanks, -- RandorXeus. 15:44, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Done
- I have restored your access to the interface. Please review the guide as many things have changed. I don't know if your aware but the team monitors an IRC channel here #wikipedia-en-accounts connect and we have a mailing list list which we use for discussions and such, also requestors who have trouble with forms send in requests via this list. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and welcome back. Mlpearc powwow 17:25, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

ACC Question 2
Good Sir, I have recently changed my username on en.wikipedia to ТимофейЛееСуда from RandorXeus (through proper channels of course) I was recently regranted access to use the ACC tool and I have created a few accounts since. I wanted to find out what I needed to do with the tool to keep assisting with account creation. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Cheers -- RandorXeus. 01:45, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Creating accounts is assisting. Mlpearc powwow 02:27, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry, let me rephrase that. I do not have access to the tool under my new username although I did on the old one. I know that it is on a separate non-wikimedia server, so I was wondering if I could regain access with my new username?
- Thanks mate -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 14:12, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Let me clarify; you wish to rename your ACC interface account name from "RandorXeus" to "ТимофейЛееСуда" correct ? Mlpearc powwow 17:22, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yessir, if it is possible. I didn't know if it was. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 21:38, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Username Change Problem
Hi, I got your message regarding to my username violating the policies on Wikipedia. I also read the page on the username change, you told to look at, but it didn't tell me any information on how to change my username, nor there was a page for making the request. I need help because I am stuck and I don't want my account to be deleted. I hope you can help me on this issue. Have a nice day, Will'sdentaloffice (talk) 00:20, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- No problem, I'll try to help you through it. First go to Wikipedia:Changing username Read the "Must read" section to determine your situation. Scroll down to "Venues" and choose the option which fits you, most likely "Simple" Then follow the "Instructions" there. hope this helps, if you need anything else just let me know. Cheers, Mlpearc powwow 01:15, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Account creator.
Hi, my request for Requests for permissions Account creator was denied as i wasn't experienced enough and also there wasn't any backlog or shortage of users on the ACC team. So i wish to request if i may apply for any other similar permissions where i might be useful, i just dont want to stop with editing the articles, i'm also a current rollbacker and find it really useful as it helps me as a Recent changes patrol'er, i have been editing wiki for over 3 years, 9 months so kindly suggest me some role that i may play in wikipedia to spend my free time useful. Thanks. Pearll's SunTALK 04:09, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- It looks as if you have applied for all rights/access connected to the ACC process. There are some areas of Wikipedia that are essential to the ACC process such as the guide and Wikipedia:Username policy, a sound understanding of these areas is imperative to this process, also involvement with WP:UAA can only reinforce overall experience. Mlpearc powwow 18:18, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the infos. will check them and will gather more experience. Pearll's SunTALK 09:33, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Hey
Do you know how to move sandboxes to main space and do history splits please? Calvin • Watch n' Learn 22:22, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
- The page move is easy, I've never tinkered with page histories though. To move User:Calvin999/Sandbox5 to Complicated (Rihanna song) first you'll have to have this redirect deleted to make room for the move. Now go to User:Calvin999/Sandbox5 and click on "Move this page" (not sure what skin your using) and change User:Calvin999/Sandbox5 to Complicated (Rihanna song)in the "To new title:" area and then click "Move page". If you have trouble I can move it for you. BUT find out what you need to concerning the Page Histories before you make the move. Mlpearc powwow 22:52, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Fair use rationale
Hey, I noticed what you reverted my edit on Metal Gear Solid, saying that it has a fair use rationale. However, it must have a rationale for every article it's put on. It doesn't have a fair use rationale for Metal Gear Solid, and I thus, reverted your edit. Please add a rationale for Metal Gear Solid before readding the image. Thanks. Welcome to the Arbitration Committee clerk team
I have added you to the list of clerks and subscribed you to the mailing list (info: WP:AC/C#clerks-l). Welcome, and I look forward to working with you! To adjust your subscription options for the mailing list, see the link at mail:clerks-l. The mailing list works in the usual way, and the address to which new mailing list threads can be sent is clerks-llists.wikimedia.org. Useful reading for new clerks is the procedures page, WP:AC/C/P, but you will learn all the basic components of clerking on-the-job.
New clerks begin as a trainee, are listed as such at WP:AC/C#List of clerks, and will remain so until they have learned all the aspects of the job. When you've finished training, which usually takes a couple of/a few months, then we'll propose to the Committee that you be made a full clerk. As a clerk, you'll need to check your e-mail regularly, as the mailing list is where the clerks co-ordinate (on-wiki co-ordination page also exists but is not used nearly as much). If you've any questions at any point of your traineeship, simply post to the mailing list.

Regarding tags you added to Nathan Marcuvitz article
Hi. I am Nathan Marcuvitz's son. When my father died one of his colleagues (A. Oliner) wrote a piece that summarized his contribution to his field. I turned this into a Wikipedia article in remembrance of him. It was not written by me and it is not autobiographical. Please read through the talk section if you have questions. All copyright issues have been resolved and the article has been recreated directly by A. Oliner the orginator and copyright holder. I would appreciate it it you would remove the tags.
Thanks --Amarcuvitz (talk) 03:25, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Amarcuvitz, When I placed the tag I was not questioning factual foundation of the article, I was more concerned that with over 90% of the edit coming from the same editor, and that it does read like an bio. Which prompted me to tag the page as is. Did you glance at the links on the tag ? Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view it will explain in more detail the concerns I have. Muhammad final decision
I might be wrong here, I had a look over the final decision, and to me it would seem that both FoFs 1 and 1.1 were published, but as 1.1 has more support, should be the only FoF implemented? The same goes with remedies 1 and 1.2, 1.2 has a higher passing margin than 1. It also now passes 7-3 as opposed to 7.2. Just letting you know ;-) Steven Zhang Join the DR army! 07:06, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your observations. This is my first closure which I'm having trouble completing correctly, if there's any discrepancies it might be better informing someone more experienced than me. Mlpearc (powwow) 07:16, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing out that two alternative FoFs and two alternative Remedies were published. This is undoubtedly one of the hardest thing of closing a case where the voting is complicated. You are correct in that FoF 1.2 has more support, and therefore supercedes 1. However, for the remedies, procedures state that the one that is the first choice for the most number of Arbitrators should be passed. In this case, R1 was the preferred choice for three arbs (AGK, Cas, JV) as opposed to two for R 1.2 (Roger and Phil). Regards --Alexandr Dmitri (talk) 08:05, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- Remedy 6.1. (Reminder to Hans Adler) also seems to be passing with the late vote of John Vandenberg. Please see the comments on AlexandrDmitri's talk page. Mathsci (talk) 08:20, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Hey all!
Thanks to everyone who attended our first office hours session; the logs can be found here, if you missed it, and we should be holding a second one on Thursday, 22 March 2012 at 18:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office. I hope to see you all there :).
In the meantime, I have greatly expanded the details available at Wikipedia:New Page Triage: there's a lot more info about precisely what we're planning. If you have ideas, and they aren't listed there, bring them up and I'll pass them on to the developers for consideration in the second sprint. And if you know anyone who might be interested in contributing, send them there too!

Citing oneself
Citing oneself does not necessarily constitute original research. It would if the self-written source is also self-published, such as on the personal blog or website of a non-expert. But if the source is published by a third-party, it may very well be a reliable source. Of course, citing oneself is still discouraged. See WP:SELFCITE for details. help triage some feedback
Hey guys.
I appreciate this isn't quite what you signed up for, but I figured as people who are already pretty good at evaluating whether material is useful or not useful through Special:NewPages, you might be interested :). Over the last few months we've been developing the new Article Feedback Tool, which features a free text box. it is imperative that we work out in advance what proportion of feedback is useful or not so we can adjust the design accordingly and not overwhelm you with nonsense.
This is being done through the Feedback Evaluation System (FES), a tool that lets editors run through a stream of comments, selecting their value and viability, so we know what type of design should be promoted or avoided. We're about to start a new round of evaluations, beginning with an office hours session tomorrow at 18:00 UTC. If you'd like to help preemptively kill poor feedback, come along to #wikimedia-office and we'll show you how to use the tool. If you can't make it, send me an email at okeyeswikimedia.org or drop a note on my talkpage, and I'm happy to give you a quick walkthrough in a one-on-one session :).

Led Zeppelin editnotice
You're welcome For some reason, you have to be an admin (I'm not) or an account creator (I am) to make them. Once they're made anyone (I think?) can edit them. See Wikipedia:Editnotice. For articles I heavily edit, I always add a language template and if I see HTML comments, I try to add them for the sake of visibility, not cluttering up the code, and just in case someone edits a section that's not right where the comment is. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 04:07, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- No problem The more that you want to add WP:ENGVAR-related edit notices, the better. I've also recently changed Muhammad's to note the on-going RfC, etc. Anything you think that a user should know about an article before editing it is useful here. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 04:21, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

ACC
Un suspend Cheese please I want to be active again kthx. Puffin Let's talk! 12:43, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Puffin, I would be glad to un-suspend you account but, new rules have been enacted regarding users at ACC. All users that have access to the interface must be identified to the Wikimedia Foundation. This is now coded in the software and even if your account was un-suspended the software would not allow you to access the interface, this has been added to the Guide. If you are at the age of consent where you live and want to identify please follow the instructions here: Wikipedia:Identification/Procedure, once this is done (If you choose to do it) reply here with the diff to the edit that added your username to the Identification noticeboard and your account will be activated. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask. Mlpearc (powwow) 18:58, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
- Isn't that risky? Submitting a passport to someone I've never met?? Puffin Let's talk! 08:40, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- Well, if you want to access to the Account Creation Interface, then this is what you need to do. It's totally your decision. Cheers, Mlpearc (powwow) 18:04, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

A big NPT update
Hey! Big update on what the developers have been working on, and what is coming up:
coding
- Fixes for the "moved pages do not show up in Special:NewPages" and "pages created from redirects do not show up in Special:NewPages" bugs have been completed and signed off on. Unfortunately we won't be able to integrate them into the existing version, but they will be worked into the Page Triage interface.
- Coding has been completed on three elements; the API for displaying metadata about the article in the "list view", the ability to keep the "patrol" button visible if you edit an article before patrolling it, and the automatic removal of deleted pages from the queue. All three are awaiting testing but otherwise complete.
All other elements are either undergoing research, or about to have development started. I appreciate this sounds like we've not got through much work, and truthfully we're a bit disappointed with it as well; we thought we'd be going at a faster pace :(. Unfortunately there seems to be some 24-72 hour bug sweeping the San Francisco office at the moment, and at one time or another we've had several devs out of it. It's kind of messed with workflow.
Stuff to look at
We've got a pair of new mockups to comment on that deal with the filtering mechanism; this is a slightly updated mockup of the list view, and this is what the filtering tab is going to look like. All thoughts, comments and suggestions welcome on the NPT talkpage :). I'd also like to thank the people who came to our last two office hours sessions; the logs will be shortly available here.
I've also just heard that the first functional prototype for enwiki will be deployed mid-April! Really, really stoked to see this happening :). We're finding out if we can stick something up a bit sooner on prototype.wiki or something.
I appreciate there may be questions or suggestions where I've said "I'll find out and get back to you" and then, uh. not ;p. I sincerely apologise for that: things have been a bit hectic at this end over the last few weeks. But if you've got anything I've missed, drop me a line and I'll deal with it! Further questions or issues to the usual address. Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 17:15, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
ACC Interface account
Hello! I registered for an account on ACC interface a couple of days ago, which is pending for approval by a site administrator. I followed you here from ACC Guide Talk page. I have already identified myself. Do I need to make a request at ACC Guide talk page too? --SMS Talk 21:50, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- No need to post anywhere else. Your request has been received and is under review (not by myself) you will be notified when a decision is reached. Mlpearc (powwow) 22:00, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Ok thanks! --SMS Talk 07:36, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
Response
Hello, Mlpearc,
I am flattered that you are seeking my opinion on any matter, but I cannot say that I am particularly sure what Wikipedia's policy towards "Influence" sections is exactly. As far as how many groups to list (on such a big group like Zeppelin), I would probably limit it to the top 3-5 of any given sub-genre to keep from taking up too much space, but again, that is just my presumption. That being said, a list devoted to Zeppelin-influenced bands (as User:Yoenit suggested in the Village pump) might be a viable option. However, it is my opinion that any band on the list includes a citation that states how a band or any of its members were influenced by Led Zeppelin.
Hope I was somewhat helpful, and I look forward to working with you in the future. --L1A1 FAL (talk) 02:49, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- I am also flattered, as far as policy I cannot find anything and was tossing around Yoenit's suggestion of the "list of" pages, which your page I caught in my watchlist reminded me. This might be a good idea. Personally my question was spawned by many of my favorite articles have list I consider too long. I would probably keep these list on the main subjects page to bands or acts of some higher notability and maybe about five names, set by consensus and the remainder placed on a "Acts influenced by Whoever". Just my opinion and it would surly cleanup the main subject pages(be it Zeppelin, Tone Lōc or Eagles). IDK Just been thinking :P. I also would be glad to work with you on something, if the chance arises. Cheers Mlpearc (powwow) 03:08, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I whole-heartedly agree, that it would be a nice cleanup on the main artist pages. That's actually the reason I'm working on the list in my userspace now. I go through all these song articles reverting IP vandalism and the like, and actually looking through the song articles, its just these ugly long lists. In any case, three to five influenced artists, chosen by consensus, should be fine for the main pages, but again, they should definitely have citations. I would be open to collaborating with you on such a project in the future, but not right at the moment. Anyway, we can discuss details later.
- Btw, if I don't make sense, its cause my mind's pretty much fried from working on that draft for about the last 3 hours. --L1A1 FAL (talk) 03:23, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

ACC Query
Hello! I have a question related to ACC. I was handling a request which came via proxy and the proxy is under range block for more than a year. The reason for block was that a toolserver bot edited while logged out. Though I don't find any problem with it but still to be on safe side I didn't creat the account since I was doing it for the first time. So can you tell me was it right? Thanks --SMS Talk 09:34, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
- {{tps}} This is a known problem (since ~a year) and can be ignored (all proxy related links) if the proxy - whois shows that the IP is from the Wikimedia Foundation (should be always). mabdul 12:34, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you Mabdul, yes this is correct. with each request there are actually two sets of "green links" the set directly below the "IP Address Links" refer to the IP/username which sent in the request. Now if the Request was sent via a proxy the second set of green links "Proxy Links" will supply the information off the proxy for which the request came in on, if this is a request via a proxy the ACC Guide explains the process under the Notes section. If as Mabdul points out the "Whois" link shows that it has come in via a Wikimedia IP addresses (208.80.152.0 - 208.80.155.255) this is a bug, and can be safely ignored. If the bug did not exists and the request "did not" come through a proxy the second set of green links (proxy links) would not show up. Th links I have given above is from which I and many account creation team users consider this the "ACC bible part I" Wikipedia:Request an account/Guide this guide should be read and understood to the best of an ACC user ability before handling any request. The ACC "bible part II" is the Wikipedia:Username policy and should be studied in the same degree. Both should be periodically reviewed as thins do change. And by no means is this considered a real bible just refereed to as such. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask here and Mabdul will be glad to help And always try to monitor the IRC channel ##wikipedia-en-accounts connect while working requests where help and/or advise is live and at your finger tips. Welcome to the team :). Cheers, Mlpearc (powwow) 13:25, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks Mabdul and Mlpearc. Actually the emboldened red note (like a warning) in the General notes section of ACC Guide page brought me here and the proxy IP was 91.x.x.x. --SMS Talk 14:58, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

M*A*S*H
I deleted all the M*A*S*H season changes, and you reverted it, saying that consituted vandalism. I, however, see the season changes as pointless and idiotic, only serving to spoil the surprises for further viewers.
While I am aware Wikipedia is meant to be an encyclopedia and not worry about spoiling things, the season changes are still pointless to post, in my opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.72.151.150 (talk) 22:08, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- If you believe your edits are needed, the proper way to make such changes is to start a discussion on the talk page of the article and allow interested editors voice their opinions and achieve consensus, making such changes just because you want it that way is not. Hey :). You're being contacted because you are involved in the ACC process, or participated in the original discussion in '08 about the ConfirmAccount extension. This is a note to let you know that we are seeking opinions on switching this extension on, effectively making the ACC process via the Toolserver redundant. You can read all the details here; I would be very grateful if people would indicate how they feel about the idea :). Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 13:21, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 16
Hi. When you recently edited KTLA Morning News, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Frank Buckley (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Bad query on ACC tool
Hey, not sure who this should go to, but you probably know. Got a query error when trying to handle request for username "De30". I won't post the error because it has the requestor's email in it, but there's an unescaped single quote in the email messing up the query (i.e. johno'malley should be johno''malley). Cheers, — Bility (talk) 15:35, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
Led Zeppelin (album)
"Claim not properly sourced". I'm stating the obvious, not a claim. 1) "Whole Lotta Love" is not on the album, 2) Dixon being credited is already mentioned in the previous sentence, therefore the information is redundant. NewYorkFred (talk) 07:12, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
