The article Daniel James (boxer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable boxer does not meet WP:NBOX
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PRehse (talk) 12:02, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

- Based on the alumni and history notability seems to be very well established. I have resubmitted. I don't think Oberlin College is an unreliable source for the high school. I have resubmitted. FloridaArmy (talk) 13:59, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
- Two reviewers disagreed with you, and the upshot of continually resubmitting is that your article got deleted instead. Please use this as a learning moment and actually fix issues that are highlighted by reviewers. The requirement that sources be independent of the subject to count towards notability is very clear in the message posted above. The Drover's Wife (talk) 01:30, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- If you are convinced it isn't notable please take it to a deletion discussion. I would caution you taht common sense as well as policy, apply in this case and others.FloridaArmy (talk) 02:32, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- A university archive coverage of a high school that closed over 100 years ago is independant of the subject. The extensive list of notable alumni shows the school is worth a page. Here might be a case to include the high school in the University topic but then WP:SPINOUT would also apply. Legacypac (talk) 02:42, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- It isn't when the university and the high school are related, and you couldn't WP:SPINOUT because it had neither the sources nor the content for it. Wouldn't it be easier to like, add some sources so the article actually complies with policy, instead of just resubmitting and resubmitting until you get a different answer? The upshot of that strategy, this time, was that your article was deleted by a third person after being declined twice by different reviewers. You're clearly capable of doing more thoroughly researched work, as with the article I accepted afterwards which was much better sourced: if you'd bothered to do that level of work here (even after the need for it was twice pointed out!), you'd still have an article and we wouldn't need to be having this discussion. Friendly Reminder
Hi. Just a friendly reminder that your reply to Phil Bridger at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oberlin Academy Preparatory School technically violates your restriction of one comment per AfD for articles created by you. This discussion could end up at keep or merge and I would hate to see you sanctioned for a conversation that might reach your preferred outcome even without further input from you. Best wishes, Barkeep49 (talk) 16:24, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Legacypac (talk) 04:16, 10 February 2019 (UTC)Creating pages in the mainspace
Hi. As far as I am aware, your restriction against creating pages directly in the mainspace still exists (it is still listed at the active restrictions). I have moved Walking on Air (1946 film) to draft space. I haven't moved Money, Money, Money (disambiguation), Dixon Building, Jared Elliott, William Cocke (disambiguation) or J. R. Smith (disambiguation), but technically your ban also extends to disambiguation pages (not to redirects). Fram (talk) 15:44, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks Fram. It's not the firdt time it's happened. Thankfully I think I have usually (always?) been the one to catch the mistake. When it came time to submit the draft I would have realized I had created it in mainspace by accident and moved it (as I have done before). I am only human and do make mistakes. As far as disambig pages, I thought that the restriction applied to articles. I am not sure how to locate the restriction but wouldnbe happy to take another look. I have tried to avoid Afd all together, and have for the most part, and think I have abided by the intent of the restrictions. Perhaps it's time for an appeal. It certainly complicates matters for me and adds lots of work for Afc reviewers. Seems pretty ridiculous really. If Wikipedia wants subjects worked up somewhat before theu are moved to mainspace I can do that although I think it goes against the history and intents Wikipedia was founded on and its pillars. FloridaArmy (talk) 21:39, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Editing restrictions and look for your own username. I have no opinion on the validity of the restriction, and whether it has served its purpose and can be lifted or not. I have not looked into it, I just saw your name while new page patrolling and thought I had seen it with a restriction. Looking at your recent creations, this article certainly looked like an error on your part, not a deliberate violation; and the disambigs is something which I thought you might not consider to fall within your ban, but the text is "FloridaArmy is prohibited from creating new articles in mainspace", and disambiguations are articles. Fram (talk) 09:17, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Just browsed by. About the Dixon Building, that's like many disambiguation pages I have created, and I would support it existing. Fram is right no this I think and a disambiguation page is an article. When I was restricted from creating articles in mainspace for a while I submitted new disambiguation pages to AFC, if i created any, if I recall correctly (it was quite a while ago). Yes i could create redirects, and in some sense a disambiguation page is a glorified combo of redirects, but still. Anyhow to try to get back into compliance with your restriction about that, how about you please move it yourself to userspace or draftspace. Then ping me and I will address it, and same about any other disambiguation pages. Let me know. --Doncram (talk) 04:58, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

- A bylined Times-Union article noting that "In its first year, Proctor's hosted the minstrel show Gonzell White's Revue — around the time that Count Basie was playing with them as a pianist. " isn't a legitimate source? Baloney. And the ad featuring Gonzell is an ad featuring Gonzell. Are you disputing she is pictured and noted as a representative for the company? My suggestion to you is of you are so confident she isn't notable take it to a deletion discussion. I have very little doubt what the outcome will be. FloridaArmy (talk) 01:18, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

- User:Dan arndt Not true. The Jstor article goes into detail. And the subject was already cited to an entire entry in an existing encyclopedia (Encyclopedia of Cleveland History) and other sources noting and discusing the subject. It would easily survive a deletion discussion and your obstructing its creation and that of other notable subjects goes against policy and is disruptive. Eagleash (talk) 23:10, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Edit comments
I've been going through Oberlin Academy Preparatory School trying to clean things up. I notice that none of your edits have edit summaries. I know this has been mentioned to you before, but it appears you're still not using them. Please use them. It only takes a moment, and it's really helpful to other editors who come after you who are searching for something in the history. Continuing to not use them is an ongoing disservice to your fellow editors. -- RoySmith (talk) 22:57, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- I often use edit summaries if I make a major change or one that I think may be controversial. I often don't use edit simmaries when I am making minor edits, for a variety of reasons. I also have been working a lot in draft space. Building articles. So I don't think it's as important to establish the purpose for each edit since they are all related to article building. The point of including the sporting event in the Oberlin Academy article was to establish that the school had competitive sports programs and some of the teams they competed against at the time (1910). I think it's standard to include what leagues and divisions a school competes in. I don't know if those existed in 1910. I believe this is of historical interest. I also think it's worth including some of the alumni in the body and not just in the alumni section. Having had the founder of what became the ANC as a student, for example, is pretty interesting / important. And you removed key details of that history entirely.
- I disagree with your criticisms of the afc process in regards to the article (and per the discussion they seem to have been based on misrepresentations and misunderstandings) and found them damaging and unhelpful towards getting notable historical and other articles created according to our well established policies. I hope in future you will focus on reforming those who are damaging the encyclopedia and undermining its five pillars instead of victims of their attacks. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:05, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Looking at the edit history I find several of my edits.with edit summaries consistent with my statement and reasoning above. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:23, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
