Hi Gabriel Yuji,

I don't remember the episode at the moment, but it is certainly one of the first where his bankai was shown. I will try to find out the exact episode as soon as possible.

Though it's kind of close I guess? It's got good concept and creation stuff - really good, better than most video game characters - it's just that I haven't seen a ton of stuff about his reception, which of course is the most important thing. I expect that should Lucas return for Smash 4, it's not unreasonable to expect that he would get some reception here and there. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 23:53, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

GTO

Do you know enough about the series to help me reduce the cruft on the character list? If we can get the list down to a sensible level of length and detail I can do a quick rewrite so it's not completely un-encyclopedic. Unfortunately I no longer own the manga, anime and haven't watched the 2012 live action at all. Some of the details of the anime and manga are a bit fuzzy... Third opinion

Can you take a look at the edit history for [1] please, I'm hoping not to get into an edit war. Having already reverted the users changes and done some cleanup, they have restored it leading to me removing it again and then rewriting it with added references. As I was attempting to make a case on their talk page he then reverted me again and restored the content with minimal tweaking, removing my sourcing in the process. I'd rather not take this to admin if I can avoid it because the page isn't currently worth the hassle and would appreciate a third opinion.

As for your question, I live in the UK and can't help. Dandy Sephy (talk) 19:24, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

He's now resorted to using false edit summaries to restore his preferred content. I've already delayed my intention to catch up on my sleep and this seems like a good point for me to take a break from the keyboard. So I'm going to sleep on it but it looks like it may need to be sent to ANI or some other action. (leave a reply here rather than my talk). Dandy Sephy (talk) 20:09, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Amy Rose

Do you keep an eye on Sonic character articles often? I've noticed you at Knuckles' page before. If it wasn't obvious, I'm preparing Amy Rose for GAN, as part of a potential Sonic character good topic. (Big the Cat's at GAN now and I got Chao there before my semi-retirement. Red Phoenix may work on Sonic and Tails at some point if he has time.) Interested in helping out? I don't have a good idea of how busy you are, but you seem interested in the subject. Tezero (talk) 05:47, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

I least like writing "Appearances" sections because of just how much there is to summarize, whereas with Conception/Characteristics and Reception sections I can trawl through vast archives to find pieces of it. Do you like it? Tezero (talk) 15:57, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Heh, I was that user for two out of the four Sonic game GAs (and one of the two Sonic game FAs); the others are inactive or vastly focused on other projects. And no, I don't really need summarizing of what I wrote (or so I think - what you did for Adventure in Amy's article was helpful); it's that the Appearances sections of other characters tend to be made up of lots of short, uncited, incomplete paragraphs that don't always give enough context for non-fans or plot. I can do that myself, of course; I just wondered if you wanted to help with that (or to find more info, if you can). Tezero (talk) 23:15, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Forgive me if this is misplaced, I am new to Wiki editing. You are revising changes to the Sword Art Online page that dispel defaming slander aimed at the creator of the works. Nikkey Shimbun questions

You are welcome :)

Do you know about any independent, secondary sources in Portuguese that discuss the Nikkey Shimbun'/Jornal do Nikkey? (Japanese article: ja:ニッケイ新聞) - If so, articles can be started in Portuguese and English WhisperToMe (talk) 03:26, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you! I've started two articles on the Japanese newspapers of Sao Paulo WhisperToMe (talk) 05:55, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Ideas for more sources: Japanese international schools

Gabriel, there are three Japanese international day schools in Brazil: Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Manaus. If you find sources about them, that would be great. I know there were some international day schools that closed during the recession but I don't know if they were in Brazil

Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 16:14, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

These are the schools (they at least have elementary and junior high, but may not have high school):
The reason why I think there may be info on Brazilian Japanese schools is because newspapers sometimes write about how different they are. I recall an Indian newspaper having a single article on the Japanese School of Mumbai, which covers elementary and junior high. There had been articles written about several U.S. elementary-junior high Japanese schools in the 1980s and 1990s: New York Japanese School, Chicago Futabakai Japanese School, Seigakuin Atlanta International School, and International Bilingual School (now closed) in Los Angeles all had articles written about them in major newspapers. The articles about the Tennessee Meiji Gakuin High School, a now-closed Japanese boarding high school in Tennessee, are interesting too.

WhisperToMe (talk) 23:08, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your help! There is an article on Nihonjin gakko, or Japanese schools in general. Usually I use WP:GNG to determine if a school is individually notable. WhisperToMe (talk) 04:29, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
I found an article from the Sao Paulo Shimbun. Google translate tells me that it talks about enrollment increasing again (after a decline in enrollment) due to Japanese corporations expanding in Sao Paulo. So with two articles I think it's notable. I don't know if I'll be able to do this with Rio or Manaus. It also seems like there used to be one in Belo Horizonte. One idea for an article is on the Japanese in Sao Paulo like the Japanese in New York City or the Japanese in Paris articles I've written. WhisperToMe (talk) 05:17, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

FYI, given your two successful nominations, and Adrian Monk also being a GA, one more, and Monk can get a category in the GA list. -- Zanimum (talk) 17:56, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Congratulations on the GA, I have nominated it for Did you know, which will hopefully result in the article appearing on the main page. The link is Template:Did you know nominations/Mr. Monk and the Man Who Shot Santa Claus. Thanks, Matty.007 11:40, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Review

Hi there! I saw that you are member of Anime and manga wikiproject so I m asking you for your help. I have nominated Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue for GA. Do you have time for reviewing those two articles? Also any suggestions, links etc. Or do you know anyone who would like to do review? Thanks in advance :) (Nightwolf87 (talk) 17:45, 6 April 2014 (UTC))

Thanks for your quick response. I'll ask them for help. Enjoy your day :) (Nightwolf87 (talk) 08:48, 7 April 2014 (UTC))

Template:Infobox Sonic character

could you clarify your comments in this discussion? it's not clear if you are saying we should completely delete the template, or add parameters to {{infobox video game character}}, or make changes to {{infobox character}} (which seems to be the original proposal since the transcluding articles are not using {{infobox character}}). thank you. A lil Uzumaki help

Thanks for helping me out with the sources. the article is looking great and i think its really close to getting GA quality. Unfortunately, i can't place the mangalife, Comics Village, and Popcultureshock sources because my web security blocks them entirely for some odd reason. I was wondering you could add them in yourself, if that was OK. Or if you want me to do it instead, you could probably copy the info into my talkpage and putting them in cite web template for me. But that's only if you prefer i do it. If you wish to do add it in yourself, i'm fine with that.

I was also wondering if you had physical copies of the manga, so that we could make use of the "afterword" sections of the manga. I just recently added a development section, but needs to be expanded. Thank you again for all the help. Lucia Black (talk) 12:15, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Mr. Monk and the Three Pies

Tomie

I noticed you made great contributions to Cobra, a manga series that is pretty old. Although, it may not equal to Cobra in terms of popularity and coverage, I've been needing some help finding the original release of "Tomie" volumes. It can get confusing at times which version we should be looking at, so i'll clarify here in case you're interested:

Originally released under a bigger series titled "Junji Ito Horror Comic collection" (伊藤潤二恐怖マンガCollection) (JI HCC) where each volume would cover a specific story with its own subtitle. The Tomie story was covered in Vol.1 and Vol.2 of JI HCC. The two volumes were ported to the west by Comics One with the title "Tomie: The Junji Ito Horror Comic Collection" sometime around 2000. For some reason these were also released in japan again except without the "JI HCC" segment and just left it as "Tomie (first)" and Tomie (final)" A single-volume version was also released collecting both volumes in japan title "Tomie (All)".

A sequel (or expansion)to Tomie is "Tomie: Again (part 3)" which was also included in the a new yet similar series: "Junji Ito Horror Museum" (伊藤潤二恐怖博物館)which still spans to just two volumes. This version was published by Dark Horse titled, "Museum of Terror".

Issues: I'm having particularly trouble finding the original release dates and ISBNs of Tomie, which i find very odd because i haven't had trouble finding that in particular. My goal is to make Uzumaki, Gyo, and possibly Tomie into GA articles in efforts to possibly make A GA topic involving manga created by Junji Ito. I know that's a bit of a stretch right now considering these articles looked scarce from the beginning despite being popular, but i believe its possible. You've helped me out immensely in Uzumaki to the point where its near GA-status. Lucia Black (talk) 16:16, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

RE: Cole MacGrath and Miranda Lawson

Thanks for both the sources and the compliments. Cole and Miranda are both articles I'd love to create, though I still hope to find a few more sources. Cole just needs a few from different sites and then it's go time. Miranda could also use a few more sources, but she must wait first for someone else -- I need to ready an article on Mordin Solus. Hey, if you're still making vgchara articles maybe consider Felyne/Airou (Monster Hunter mascots)

"It may be underplayed and misunderstood in the US and UK, but Monster Hunter is popular enough in Japan alone that it’s currently Capcom’s best-selling franchise. Both console and handheld Monster Hunter games sell by the millions in its native land, and merchandise for the series is seemingly everywhere. And the majority of that merch features cute versions of the cat monsters in the game known as Felynes or Airou in Japan. The in-game Felyne look is perfectly fine, but it’s the more adorable, anime reimagining that’s featured on countless pieces of merch and in occasional spin-off games that we prefer."[2] --Niemti (talk) 17:54, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

Arceus

My problem with that is that the justification is "it's good in battle." I just don't know if it making the top 10 is of value if it's for gameplay reasons. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 04:54, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

I just think that gameplay-based reception cheapens the reception a bit is all. In-universe coverage is fine to an extent, such as discussing fact-based information, but discussing the value of strong vs. weak is just not great. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 23:03, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

Heym remember when the character articles were all plot? Good times.
