Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Super Bowl LIII, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. – Wallyfromdilbert (talk) 18:33, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm TheEpTic. I noticed that in this edit to Bobby Farrell, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TheEpTic (talk) 13:57, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you intend ..

[edit]

.. to pursue a career on Wikipedia of reverting vandalism, as you were clearly trying to do here [1] recently, then you may wish to investigate using more powerful tools than undoing edits one at a time. Start with WP:POP, and then look into WP:TWINKLE or WP:AVT. There are yet more powerful tools, but they require WP:ROLLBACK authority and I would strongly advise building up some experience and a good track record before you apply for that. Best wishes. Philip Trueman (talk) 17:40, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I too wish to thank you for your vandalism work, but urge you to look closely when doing so. Please refer to the history at Lakeshore High School. No worries...it happens. Thanks for becoming a Wikipedian! John from Idegon (talk) 04:20, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
John: I think you are being a little unfair on a newbie. GameEnd: In case it isn't clear, your undo was valid; the problem is that the previous edit also needed to be undone, which John has now done. Get to grips with Popups, pick up some more experience, and you will soon take cases like this in your stride. Philip Trueman (talk) 10:39, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Ifnord (talk) 16:58, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OWNTALK

[edit]

Hi. In the future, please be sure you understand WP:OWNTALK. Editors (including IPs) can remove warnings from their own talk pages. Also, DynamicIP templates can also be removed; do not re-instate them per WP:UP#CMT. While editors can always revert vandalism, be sure that you don't mistake unexplained blanking for vandalism when the blanking is specifically allowed. You can be censured/blocked per WP:EW for repeatedly reverting anything that is not clearly vandalism, and I'd hate to see you get into trouble over that sort of nonsense. Thank you for your countervandalism efforts. (I am not watching this page, so please ping me if you want my attention.) Chris Troutman (talk) 18:36, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for trying to deal with vandalism. However, you only reverted one out of the three vandalism edits at Women-only passenger car. Please use the proper manual revert procedure, or, as you have been told several times on this page, use an anti-vandalism tool. Your inaction on your talk page messages is getting tiresome; if it continues, you may be blocked, because your efforts at reverting vandalism are sometimes doing more harm than good. ==Reason for [reverting this]

[edit]

Hi as someone who played the game, I wanted to explain why I reverted one of your edits to Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. The reason why I undid your latest contribution to the article was because there is no dialogue in the cutscenes. Because of this, Wesel is only killed for failing to assassinate Padme, she is not killed because she was about to give her partners name. Also, because there is no dialogue, it is never mentioned that Boba Fett is an unaltered clone, so I also removed the quotation marks. The link below is a YouTube video that contains the cutscenes for these segments so you can see for yourself. If I broke some WP guidelines by reverting or by placing the link below, respond here, or on my talk page. well it's notable around the world because it most likely inspired the 2021 Capitol Storming and it was said by the President's lawyer. GameEnd (talk) 18:37, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The public coverage is not disputed, but it isn't the goal of Wikipedia to create a concordance of phrase usage. If he had been moving before a court (as some have in recent years) that would be different. 73.71.251.64 (talk) 17:46, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pro tip

[edit]

Hello, GameEnd. Thanks for your valiant efforts combating the Redditor's onslaught against Josh fight. I noticed that you have a short message that you type to the vandals, but I'd liek to offer you a way to significantly speed up this process. There is a life-saving tool called RedWarn that allows you to revert an edit with a single click. It also automatically generates the edit summary depending on which option you choose (vandalism, promo, edit war, etc.). Not only does it do those things, but it also allows you, with another click, to give an auto-generated message to them depending on the circumstance. It will truly save you loads of time in reverting vandalism, and has other features as well, which is why I highly recommend it. You can install the script by clicking here. Tell me if you have any questions! Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 15:49, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You may benefit from using RedWarn

[edit]

Hello, GameEnd! I'm Ed6767, a developer for RedWarn. I noticed you have been using Twinkle and was wondering if you'd like to try RedWarn, a new modern and user friendly tool specifically designed to improve your counter-vandalism experience.

RedWarn is currently in use by nearly six hundred other Wikipedians on the English Wikipedia and feedback so far has been extremely positive. In fact, in a recent survey of RedWarn users, 90% of users said they would recommend RedWarn to another editor.

It's easy to get started with RedWarn. Unlike other anti-vandalism programs, it only takes a moment to get started. There's no setup or download. It runs on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux and more, and can be installed and used by any autoconfirmed user.

Installing RedWarn is risk-free and only takes a minute, and you can uninstall it at any time. If you're interested, please see the RedWarn tool page for more information on RedWarn's features and instructions on how to install and use it. Otherwise, feel free to remove this message from your talk page. If you have any further questions, please ping me or leave a message on RedWarn's talk page at WT:RW.
