- Hi, this is Bimpin's manager. Is there another way I may contact you? Gavriel111 (talk) 00:51, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
Bimpin article deleted
[edit]I have deleted Bimpin, an article you created, as promotional. (See this.) Wikipedia is not a PR conduit. I strongly advise you to stop your attempt to publicize Bimpin in Wikipedia; however, if you're determined to persist, then first read and digest Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide and then go on to read and digest Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. And to answer your question above: There'd be no point, as no method of contacting Wikipedia would make it welcome advertising. -- Hoary (talk) 02:32, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. If the article were to be rewritten to state statistics and facts and be nonbiased, would it be able to be kept on Wikipedia? Gavriel111 (talk) 02:51, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- No. Promotional language is just one problem. The main problem is notability. Exactly which criteria listed in WP:MUSICBIO does Bimpin meet? If none, then it is too soon to have an article about Bimpin.
- Wikipedia is not to be used for publicity or exposure. Musicians must become notable on their own, without Wikipedia's help, before Wikipedia can have articles about them. You can't be up-and-coming, you must have already arrived. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:50, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

- Gavi Shohet Zabin, better known professionally as Bimpin, is an American rapper and recording artist who originates from Chicago, Illinois. Born on August 15th, 2007, he began creating music at the age of nine. By age 11, he had already released his first set of singles to SoundCloud.
- Career
- Bimpin's career has included his most streamed song, "2Life", which has accumulated 300,000 and counting streams on various streaming platforms. Getty Images showcases Bimpin on the red carpet at the first and 2nd Annual Grammys Next Gen party, hosted by the Recording Academy. Recently, Bimpin was seen on the music blog Lyrical Lemonade, in which they discussed his work on "2Life" which features Henny Hermes, KILJ, and production by Stafford Beats. Lyrical Lemonade states, “Bimpin’s new single, 2Life with Henny Hermes, KILJ, and production by Stafford Beats displays his versatility as well as his own way to deliver a message about the struggles of making it as a rapper.” 2Life introduced Bimpin to a wider audience before the release of his most recent single, "Heaven At Night".
- Late 2018–present:
- Bimpin started releasing music by the age of 11. According to SoundCloud archives in late 2018, Bimpin’s debut single and album were titled, Needa Know and Capital City Feel. These early works are no longer available on streaming platforms. As an independent artist, Bimpin has yet to sign a record deal or management agreement. Gavriel111 (talk) 17:13, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- An article about a musician must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the musician, showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable musician. Anyone can post music online these days, so that by itself is insufficient to merit an article. Please review the definition, and tell which of the criteria Bimpin meets. 331dot (talk) 19:55, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- All the information in the latest version sent was sourced directly from the individuals interviewed, with no input from Bimpin. The writers of each article conducted thorough research and I can provide exact citations for every statement made. Gavriel111 (talk) 01:44, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't ask about sources(which you do need, though), I asked about notability- please review the definition of a notable musician and describe which of the criteria Bimpin meets. 331dot (talk) 08:47, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification. Bimpin has charted top 200 on iTunes for hip-hop/rap. Off the top of my head, I don't remember what number he was on it, but it lasted 4 days. Bimpin was played on a few radio station, again, I don't remember the exact names but I can find them. Gavriel111 (talk) 19:34, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- For the radio stations, I do remember one was in LA and one was in New York City. Gavriel111 (talk) 19:35, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

- iTunes is not a "national music chart". See WP:CHART. You seem to be referring to "placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network", Stations in NY and LA might qualify depending on their reach, in which case you need independent reliable sources with significant coverage of him. What are your three best sources? 331dot (talk) 20:16, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, that makes sense. Outside of Wikipedia, iTunes charts are considered extremely well know and prestigious. Also, artists worldwide are placed on iTunes charts. His best sources Bimpin has fully written and unpaid articles right now are Lyrical Lemonade, Earmilk and Kazi Magazine. Bimpin has been featured on Rap Tv, independently, which is the largest news source in rap music. Bimpin has been mentioned in Complex Music articles for writing credits or production credits. We received a notice from Bimpin's PR team that he will be featured and written about in a full article by Revolt Tv at the end of the month. Gavriel111 (talk) 23:59, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Bimpin's best sources are fully written and unpaid articles... (sorry about that) Gavriel111 (talk) 00:00, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- Please read specifically WP:SINGLEVENDOR. It is not considered a "national music chart" for purposes of notability. and usually shouldn't be mentioned in an article at all, except in rare circumstances. Wikipedia articles cannot be used to cite other Wikipedia articles. Can you link to three specific sources that give Bimpin significant coverage? (you link to websites but not specific stories) 331dot (talk) 07:32, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- Ok. Thank you. Here are 3 specific stories that are about Bimpin. I am unsure which are the larger specific stories and articles that MENTION Bimpin, I would have to ask PR.

- Remember to log in before posting. The first link is a brief mention of him announcing new music with an interview. The second is a very brief discussion of new music. The third is basically the same. These are not sources with "significant coverage", coverage that goes beyond merely telling what the subject does and goes into detail about their importance/significance/influence. If these are the three best sources you have, he would not merit a Wikipedia article at this time. That doesn't mean forever, just not now. 331dot (talk) 08:41, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
