[edit]Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that in this edit to 多, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:56, 16 November 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 28
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Twoo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Wizard of Oz (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:24, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
Surname, Givenname
[edit]You may find it surprising but we do not do "Surname, Givenname" titles not even as redirects. There is a very good search engine which provides the same functionality. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:55, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
- There are loads of redirects just like that though. It seems plausible to me as well as others. Goveganplease (talk) 14:46, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Transferred from user talk:RHaworth:
- Check out BD2412 and you will see that they have created 100's and never had them deleted. I feel that redirects like this are important for those who might type this way or act as though Wikipedia is a Dictionary. Thanks, Goveganplease (talk) 18:07, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- I agree. Last-name-first redirects are almost always sort name redirects, which are entirely appropriate to create. We have a template just for them - {{R from sort name}} - and an accompanying category structure, containing roughly 85,000 of these created by thousands of different editors. Some of these have been around nearly since the beginning of Wikipedia itself. [1], [2], [3]. — bd2412 T 18:10, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
Very sorry. Somehow 85,000 redirects have escaped my notice! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:37, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
Thank you very much. I am sorry to have caused any trouble and I do appreciate your timely response. Goveganplease (talk) 13:53, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Whatley, George
[edit]A tag has been placed on Whatley, George requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Legacypac (talk) 18:30, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Once again Legacypac, this issue has been brought up before with thousands of pages being redirected this way. Let's add BD2412 in this conversation because he will agree as well. Also, see the template {{R from sort name}} and the page accompanying category structure. Thank you Goveganplease (talk) 18:33, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Parsons, Jim listed at Redirects for discussion
[edit]An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Parsons, Jim. Since you had some involvement with the Parsons, Jim redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Legacypac (talk) 18:35, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Please refer to the discussion on my talk page with RHaworth. Thank you! Goveganplease (talk) 18:35, 16 March 2018
- I'm not aware of this issue. If we need them get a bot to mass create them. A trivial task. Also if you want to manually create them get the PERM to prevent these showing up in NPP. Legacypac (talk) 18:37, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
No bot is needed, but these redirects are quite useful as BD2412 stated earlier. Goveganplease (talk) 18:39, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Pipes
[edit]Please read why unnecessary pipes are detrimental at WP:NOPIPE and WP:NOTBROKEN. There are several very good reasons to keep the links as simple as possible. Surtsicna (talk) 16:59, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
What must be must be I guess! Goveganplease (talk) 16:59, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- Per WP:NOTBROKEN, there is typically no need to change a link to an article if the link is working – e.g., regarding Helter Skelter (Manson scenario) in this and this edit. —BarrelProof (talk) 00:05, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Stop, please
[edit]Please stop nominating drafts of Flooded with them hundreds as G5. They do not qualify for G5 and it's become extremely disruptive at 85 nominations that I now have to rollback. I think this goes without saying if it continues, blocks will be used. Not to be rude, but just to be clear this has to stop. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 06:07, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Why, considering he is a banned or blocked user? Goveganfortheanimals (talk) 12:03, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Because you don't have enough information to be making that sort of judgement. I also went ahead and deleted the entirely unnecessary SPI that was filed. —DoRD (talk) 12:32, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- In addition, have you read WP:G5? It reads, in part, "To qualify, the edit or page must have been made while the user was actually banned or blocked." None of the pages you nominated qualify. —DoRD (talk) 12:35, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- I am terribly sorry for bothering you, but if I am not mistaken, pages that were created by sockpuppets are always deleted after the sock is discovered and blocked, am I wrong? Goveganfortheanimals (talk) 13:25, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, you are mistaken. Pages created by sockpuppets aren't always deleted - their fate is decided on a case-by-case and page-by-page basis. But let me ask you a question: Was the user blocked when the pages you nominated were created? —DoRD (talk) 13:34, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

No they were not, which makes sense to me now. I feel like such a fool for not understanding this. Please block me for one week so I learn my lesson. Goveganfortheanimals (talk) 13:38, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Well, no, that would be silly. If you've learned something from this then all is good. —DoRD (talk) 14:48, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hello Goveganplease, @DeltaQuad and DoRD: I understand that this is also a lesson for me because after seeing these G5 requests through Special:ShortPages, I figured it would work if I tagged G5 on a few other pages created by Flooded. Now that I know this is not the case, I sincerely apologize for believing Govegan in the situation, and will try to be more careful in situations like this in the future. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 15:27, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- DoRD is right, you have figured out what's going on just by us having this conversation, that's good enough for me. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 19:26, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you both very much! I was so worried that I had made a grave error and I will read the information regarding CSD criteria before I nominate anything for speedy deletion again. Goveganfortheanimals (talk) 00:17, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
