- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Atlantic Horns, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://atlantichornsfans.com/Band/index.html.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 13:00, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Atlantic Horns
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Atlantic Horns requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://atlantichornsfans.com/Band/index.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - MrX 13:18, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
Copyright and other matters
[edit]I have additionally already sent a copyright consent from a website related address. The website itself is a fansite - not a site of the band itself, which would, as suggested, use the Wikipedia article or the fansite) for any kind of promotion. The band themselves have their own website www.atlantichorns.com and the fansite in question is run fully independent from them or their site and the band hold no responsibility for the fansite's content. As I'm new to this, I'd appreciate if you could probably please highlight the too promotional text passages to me? I however generally still deem such an article quite worthy & indicated, as the band get to be more & more in demand and popular. They work for/are booked by big artists as Robbie Williams, Madness, Paolo Nutini etc. Hence I kindly ask you to reconsider reinstating, please. I see where you're coming from re the issue with referencing and would of course edit it accordingly and see if I can research for independent references. [edit]You caused no inconveniences
[edit]What you achieved was that an OTRS volunteer learned something, which is an excellent thing. You also kept a clear head when faced with adversity. You learned more about the collegiate approach to Wikipedia problems. All of this will be useful to you for what I hope is an editing future here, apart from this one musical article. Technical bits
[edit]Hey, you must've missed my edit summary: "when writing prose then use paragraph breaks (hit Enter two times) or nothing, not linebreaks. If you must use linebreaks, type it as <br /> or <br>". Using full paragraph breaks (which produces a visible blank between blocks of text) is the norm. Using the <br> tag only produces a linebreak (the next sentence after the break goes on the next line but there's no visible space above it). There's usually no reason to use the <br> tag at all, all regular prose should be written in proper paragraphs.
If you do use linebreaks then write it as <br /> or <br>. You've been using </br>. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 18:42, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- sorry, I didn't see that indeed, I'll edit it right away tomrrow, if that's ok for you? Thanks a lot for your help - a lot for me to learn...Guruness Brownie (talk) 20:02, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- Reminding you of this again. Please don't use the linebreaks when writing regular prose. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 19:28, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
