Are you allowed to put templates such as the warning template in the sandboxes you can create?
- Sure. Warning templates are just tools to keep users from having to reinvent the wheel each time they want to warn a user. Testing them out—familiarizing yourself with what they actually say, and how they actually function—is something a lot more users should do. Note one issue though. There are certain types of templates that place the page they are placed on into specific categories that other monitor. For example, all of the speedy deletion templates place the page they are included on into CAT:CSD, and sometimes other categories as well. Avoiding this is a good thing.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 17:45, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

User talk
[edit]Hi. Thanks for responding- most of the people I welcome never interact with me again. By the way, in future can you put new messages at the bottom of talk pages. You'll see a tab at the top of the talk page with 'new section' on it. Click that and a new section will be generated for you. It makes life a lot easier for all of us! Have a merry Christmas as well! Oliver Fury, Esq. message • contributions 19:29, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
?Speedy deletion? It's a redirect; not an article. Petersam (talk) 21:06, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
December 2008
[edit]Hello. I noticed today that you were doing newpages patrolling but are not marking some of the pages you visit as patrolled. Though this is not mandatory in any way, and should not be done for all newpages, where appropriate it keeps your fellow patrollers from wasting time reviewing the same page multiple times. In any event, keep up the good work! Thanks. Chris Knutsen, Athena cinema Omarcheeseboro (talk) 01:21, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
- If this is unclear, please cick the 'patrolled' link above to explain how to mark a page as patrolled. Thank You --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 01:29, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Debby Boone's "Home for Christmas"
[edit]Why did you tag the page as not citing referenced sources? If it was because of my comment that "this is Boone's only Christmas album but it has been reproduced on multiple occasions", all that has to be done to prove it is an eBay search for the album (resulting in items for 1989, 1993, and 2002) and look at Boone's original discography page before I even went to work on it (which also cites the second and third as re-releases of the first under "Reissues"). Additionally, a look at Allmusic, Billboard, or the like shows no additional Christmas albums on the list of albums for Ms. Boone.
I would hope this would be enough to remove this tag? Per an admin., even if I had put the information on the page from personal research (i.e. owning the album, which I admittedly don't), he's said that album information does not necessarily have to be cited as sometimes, discographies do not list certain versions of albums - or even some albums at all. See Boone's 1988 "Love Put a Song in My Heart" which is not in Allmusic, but which I found as an eBay item for sale listing it as 1988 by Curb Records.
Please reply on your talk page to keep everything here, I'll refresh this page.

New Page Patrol survey
[edit]
New page patrol – Survey Invitation Hello Habbouser! The WMF is currently developing new tools to make new page patrolling much easier. Whether you have patrolled many pages or only a few, we now need to know about your experience. The survey takes only 6 minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist us in analyzing the results of the survey; the WMF will not use the information to identify you.
Please click HERE to take part. You are receiving this invitation because you have patrolled new pages. For more information, please see NPP Survey |
New deal for page patrollers
[edit]Hi Habbouser,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
