@Heatman1: Before adding links to tourism websites, you might want to have a look at the policy on external links again. Although specific links may be allowed under some circumstances (such as Tourism in the Canary Islands), repeatedly adding them in german, french, english and italian articles will in most cases result in all of them being removed. W. Edlmeier (talk) 10:17, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear W. Edlmeier, I do appreciate your consistent care in protecting Wikipedia articles from abuse by website promoters, but please do not throw the baby out with the bath water. The guidelines of Wikipedia specifically state that "Official Sites" are relevant as an external link, but it appears as though you have a bias against "official 'tourism' sites" and your only argument is "not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article". Please consider that in regard to, at least, the patronatos of each Canary Island as well as the Official Canary Island Tourism Website, in each case a substantial staff is working to bring the most relevant content regarding official tourism to the web user, especially regarding current events. This governing staff and their job of continually posting up-to-date official tourism content is a "unique resource". Having only an external link to a corresponding Wikitravel.org, is a disservice to Wikipedia users as it equates a resource for official tourism information to the semantics of "travel guide".Heatman1 (talk) 09:52, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree; sorry for "throwing the baby out with the bath water!" -- W. Edlmeier (talk) 23:18, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Ski resort. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 18:54, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Barek, perhaps I didn't form my external link properly, however, I do believe it to be a value resort on the subject matter. What better way to understand the meaning of "Ski Resort" then to see an aerial depictions of the best ski resorts in the world illustrated by the most famous Ski Map Artist in the world??? I believe you will agree that this is a value resource link. I will endeavor to make my entries less promotional. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Heatman1 (talkcontribs) 12:14, 5 April 2010

Great job adding sources! Everything looks good now, so I've gone ahead and moved it to mainspace. Thank you for persevering with this, and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help! --Cerebellum (talk) 16:46, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Wealth Lab, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wiley (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
