Disambiguation link notification for May 28
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mott B. Schmidt, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Middletown, New York (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]I've changed the template to the one used on userpages for participation in the architecture wikiproject - I hope you don't mind. It's good to see another architect around, we're pretty scarce here. Acroterion (talk) 22:26, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you, I really appreciate this as there are so many bad articles in this category it is like Whack'a'mole.Hewittarch (talk) 22:44, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- It's a systemic problem, there are relatively few editors who are interested in the visual and built arts, compared with people who edit topics on performing arts and popular culture. The other, built-in issue is the copyright scheme, which severely limits coverage of things like sculpture and artwork, which in turn means that images are hard to use and scarce. Some nations don't have freedom of panorama, so architecture in those places gets neglected iin depictions. We do what we can - I'e had a few of the images I've uploaded used in textbooks (with permission), so things can go back in the other direction sometimes. Acroterion (talk) 23:34, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
You are right. I tried to get a portrait of the architect Charles Moore and could not find one without a copyright problem. That is a pity. We should have good images and good content on everything but alas, we can't.Hewittarch (talk) 01:36, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
