Delta Founder pages
[edit]Hi, I have been researching DST founders, and I have had trouble finding information regarding these people. My writing can be found in my sandbox, shown here. Could you please provide information (such as birth and death dates; places that they were born/died, what they did as an occupation, etc.). Also, can you please provide the books and page numbers where you provided this information. The Delta founders which require information are shown below:
Also, pages relevant to Joan Higginbotham and Myra Hemmings are already created. Happy editing! Miranda 20:05, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Delta Towers
[edit]DST Delta Towers Retirement Home/Center was founded in 1979 and is actually the first retirement home/center for Afircan-Americans. See http://www.wdcac.org/aff.html and http://www.wdcac.org/history.html HistoricDST 22:16, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

- I have made a compromise. Rereading the article, the article says that the home is "one of the first retirement homes" in the nation. I have instead placed "one of the first" instead of "the first" as shown by this diff.. Also, could you please provide information regarding your founders that I requested of you. It would be very helpful if you can act upon the request. Thank you. Miranda 09:49, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

DST Founder Pages
[edit]Hello!!! Are citations the same as footnotes? Can you provide an example. Thanks HistoricDST 00:14, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- No, not really. You can see the the differences in cite and WP:FOOTNOTE. A cite is what is placed when you are citing a source, see DST...those are citations. Footnotes are different, in which a note is placed in reference to the source. Miranda 00:47, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
List of Delta Sigma Theta sisters and signature
[edit]I am trying to work on a list of DST members seen here. Can you please provide some notable members and initiation chapters as well as the source of initiation? Thanks. And you can change your signature to something sorority related like for example: red and cream with DST colors. This is what you should place in the preferences box (along with checking the raw signatures box).

- The thing is that we need to have links about the chapters that the people were initiated in. I am unsure of some of the chapters, because Deltas have Alumnae chapters, and I don't have access to Delta materials. You also forgot Wilma Rudolph, but that's ok. My progress is located here. Miranda 01:09, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Miranda, I did not forget Wilma Rudolph. I started a word document with notable DST members. I will email it to you when I have finished. Using word is easier for me than posting on this site. Thanks. HistoricDST (talk) 02:27, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- 1.) Okay, for the material to be used on Wikipedia, it has to be released under a free license such as GFDL. You can tell them that you are the author of the material by e-mailing info-en@wikimedia.org 2.) Kind of busy in real life, too. My responses will be slow. Miranda 00:51, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Miranda,
Are you referring to the list of DST notable members or DST service program information being posted on this site? I am aware that you cannot copy information verbatim from a source without permission. The small section on DST Homebuying program I wrote and it is not verbatim from the website so I am going to put the section on DST homeownership back up. HistoricDST (talk) 17:57, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Talking about the service program initiatives. Can you cite the sources as well? Miranda 21:12, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Signature
[edit]- Try copying: '''[[User:HistoricDST|<font face="trebuchet ms" color="red">HistoricDST</font>]]'''. Also, click the raw signature box. This will yield: HistoricDST. Miranda 20:25, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. HistoricDST 21:20, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello. I brought the article to GA status when it was pretty sorry. I'd like to keep it in top shape by making sure any edits to it contain referenced information. Can you point to a source that says she was a member of DST? I went to their website yesterday when the that information was added, to verify it. I searched for her name and didn't find anything. I'm just looking for anything in print that will confirm she was a member, honorary or otherwise. Other information that would be good is when she was inducted, and the reason why. Yes, it's obvious that it was because she was a force of nature, but any written information from the committee that chose her. Direct quotes or something similar. Thank you. --Moni3 (talk) 13:24, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks!
[edit]Thank you for your constructive criticism and input in making Alpha Kappa Alpha a featured article.
Best,

The Delta Challenge: DST Homeownership Initiative
[edit]Hi Soror, I have been updating the list of Delta Sigma Theta sisters and now am moving to trying to strengthen the main Delta Sigma Theta page. I was going to include information on the Delta Challenge, when I saw you had already created something. I was wondering if we could use your sandbox blurb & I would expand upon it. I'm not sure how to connect the information to your Sandbox page. Also, if we could do the same for DREF. If you don't mind me doing so and helping me on how to do it, that would be appreciated.
Thanks (talk) 19:44, 24 September 2008 (UTC) Divainred
Soror, Feel free to us any Delta information that I have in my sandbox pages. I am not certain how to send it to you but you can copy and paste the information if you like. HistoricDST 21:01, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Reviewing DST Page for Content
[edit]Hi Soror, I have moved on to trying to strengthen the main Delta Sigma Theta page. Could you give me any feedback on what is listed so far and any other relevant topics or contents that may need to be included or developed?

More Information on Delta Towers 1
[edit]Hi Soror, if you don't mind, could you type out the article. I think this is great information. Thanks!!

I've added this page within the last couple of months. You may be able to provide an introductory paragraph and add some of that paragraph to the section with the link from the main Delta Sigma Theta page.Naraht (talk) 21:42, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
DST – Greek spelling
[edit]Hello, HistoricDST, and thank you for entering the discussion on the Greek spelling of the name of your sorority. It is great to talk to someone actually affiliated with the organisation. In the meantime I have also contacted dstemail@deltasigmatheta.org by email, but I have not yet had any reply from there. Is there anyone else official I can talk to? Bertha Pitts Campbell
[edit]hope you don't mind, but I used your userspace draft to create Bertha Pitts Campbell. if you have time, and are still active, it would be awesome to have some help expanding it. Frietjes (talk) 21:55, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
