Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Christine Danielle Connolly has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.myspace.com/snakechristopher.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Michelle Carter-Leis. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Michelle Carter-Leis. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

This is the final warning that you will receive regarding your disruptive edits, such as this edit you made to Michelle Carter-Leis. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing without further notice. MrStalker (talk) 20:03, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Michelle Carter-Leis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ... discospinster talk 20:08, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Michelle Carter-Leis, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines.

WHY?

Your contributed article, Christine Connolly

[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Christine Connolly. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Christine Danielle Connolly. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Christine Danielle Connolly - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ... discospinster talk 20:27, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing, for a period of 24 hours, for disruptive editing. Please do not continually re-do edits that have been reverted. Instead engage in discussion to resolve the issues.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Peter 20:29, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

I don't understand?

Sorry that you're having a hard time. I realise Wikipedia can be a pretty complicated place, and you've been bombarded with a huge number of automated messages above. I felt it necessary to block you for a short period to let you review what has happened. You are very welcome to start editing again once the block expires, but please be a bit more careful. Could you let me know what part you don't understand (you can ask on this page), and I will do my best to help you. Peter 20:52, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

I don't get why you blocked me? Everything I wrote is the %100 truth.

I thought I was allowed to have external links? Why else would there be an option?

VERY VERY confusing...

Upped the block

[edit]

I've upped the block to 48 hours; you're lucky it wasn't indefinite due to your creation of a sockpuppet account to try and contest a deletion proposal. The sockpuppet will be indefinitely blocked. PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:41, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What is a sockpuppet? I've asked for help and I just get in more trouble? Just trying figure this thing out. Now the page I created was deleted??? Why? I thought wikipedia was a public forum for information and turns out be virtually impossible to do anything unless you work for wikipedia. EVERYTHING I wrote is the 100% truth. I've seen MANY pages that aren't even accurate information. I am asking for HELP not punishment.

OK, take a deep breath and relax. A "sockpuppet account" is an unauthorized secondary account. User:Candicealbach appeared solely to contest the deletion of the article. A legit new user's first edit would not be to defend the inclusion of an article tagged for deletion. So, based on this informal guideline, I blocked that account and upped your block.

That said, no one here wants to bite the new users and we try to assume good faith. I'll release your block, but please don't engage in edit warring over content. Feel free to leave word on my talk page if you have any questions. There is definitely a learning curve here and we'd rather help than punish you. PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:45, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editing questions

[edit]

I didn't write anything about being deleted. I do know Candice Albach but I never told her to write anything? I didn't even know she was on Wikipedia. I'm trying to learn it. It is much more confusing then I expected. How do I avoid these problems in the future? I still do not fully understand what I did wrong? I did a lot of editing in the past few days because I'm new at this... Is that a problem? I'm honestly asking because I do not want to run into these conflicts in the future. Thanks

I should have probably made it clearer, my block of you was to get you to slow down for a moment, and have chance to read up on some of our guidelines. I support your unblocking now that you have asked for help. The main thing you did wrong was repeatedly make the same edit after another editor had reverted (i.e. restored an earlier version of the article, removing yours) it. Instead what you should do is ask the editor why they reverted your edit (on their talk page, like this page is your talk page), and if you disagree with that reason discuss with them until you come to an agreement, or have to accept that your view isn't shared by others.
Based on the recent edits you've made, I suggest you talk a look at our biography of living persons policy and notability guidelines for biographies guidelines. If you want more help, you can place {{helpme}} on this page, along with your question, and someone will come along. Peter 10:49, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
I'll keep an eye out as well. You can always leave word on talk pages. I think you'll find that everyone here is willing to help. Trouble is, there are some real vandals who try and disrupt the site and, on occasion, a well-meaning user can be treated as one. When that happens, we offer sincerest apologies and set things right as soon as humanly possible. So, don't worry about rolling up your sleeves and editing. You will never be blocked for a constructive edit, even if it's incorrect. Futhermore, don't be alarmed or hurt if some of your edits are rolled back at first. It happens to all of us. Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 14:37, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help. How do I contact the person that won't let me edit "Christine Danielle Connolly"? I know someone who knows her very well, and she admittedly does NOT want her young brothers and sisters on a public site. And a lot of the information on that page is inaccurate . Thanks again.

All appears to be working again. Thanks for any help, Can I start a new "Michelle Carter-Leis" page or not? It was deleted but I don't get why? Thx

Was it because I added so many external sites? That's what it looks like... When I was getting all the warnings I didn't know where to read the messages until it was too late. If I can create it again, I won't put all the external sites. I wasn't aware of how this worked at first. Just want to know how, if and when I can recreate that page? Thanks again

The article "Christine Connolly" was tagged for deletion because it was a copy of Christine Danielle Connolly. However, I simply redirected the first title to the second. Christine Danielle Connolly is the article you should edit, and you are not stopped from doing that. It is ok to remove information from articles a that are biographies of living persons if the information is not neutral, relevant, or doesn't quote a reliable source. So while we do have a conflict of interest policy, which applies to situations like this, it is ok to remove inaccurate information where there is no source.
The article on Michelle Carter-Leis was deleted under our criteria for speedy deletion A7, "An article about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (e.g. band, club, company, etc., except schools), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant." The page to read about this is our notability guidelines for biographies. If you think the article can be edit to meet those guidelines then let me know, and I can un-delete the article. Adding references is encouraged, and some external links are appropriate, however you should always use reliable sources, and myspace is not a reliable source.
Please take the time to read through the pages I've linked to, I think you will find they answer your questions. Finally, on talk pages like this, please sign your posts. See below for how. Peter 18:48, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Peter 18:48, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for all that. There are over 20 pages of google that say "Michelle Carter-Leis" is real and relevant. Can it be undeleted and I can add reliable references? Or is it possible to recreate a page? Thanks Hophatcat (talk) 20:45, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've userfied the article to User:Hophatcat/Michelle Carter-Leis. This is a sub-page of your userpage, allowing you to work on the article in relative peace. Peter 21:02, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your understanding. Hopefully I'll get this all soon :) Hophatcat (talk) 22:16, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Does what I added for references to User:Hophatcat/Michelle Carter-Leis make sense? I don't want to edit anymore until I know what I'm doing is okay. Thanks so much Hophatcat (talk) 22:56, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually this is all I want to edit at this time. If it works when will it be visible? Will that Speedy Deletion thing remain on the public page? thanks againHophatcat (talk) 23:13, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if this doesn't work can it be deleted entirely from Wikipedia and not be searchable? Maybe someone else who knows what they're doing can make it some other time... Thanks for all the help Hophatcat (talk) 03:10, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Michelle Carter-Leis

{{helpme}} Hi I just wanted to know if User:Hophatcat/Michelle Carter-Leis is okay? If so, when will it be visible? If not, can it erased entirely? Thanks againHophatcat (talk) 18:25, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

 Doing...  Chzz  ►  18:47, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It won't move until you move or ask someone else to do so. A few comments to help (not compulsory - just ideas)...
  • Think about re-phrasing the career section into prose, rather than bullet points
  • Have a look at other songwriters pages - see list at Category:Songwriters to assess a "normal" layout - naturally there is a fair spread of page layouts there.
  • An "infobox" (in the top right corner) often helps readers to see important information at a glance, a suitable one would be the Template:Infobox Musical artist.
  • You need to put the references in-line where possible for example you have
Currently working with Producer [http://www.woodrumproductions.com Michael Woodrum]([[Los Angeles]]). Record to be released in Sept. 2010. change that to
Currently working with Producer Michael Woodrum<ref>[http://www.woodrumproductions.com Michael Woodrum]</ref>([[Los Angeles]]). Record to be released in Sept. 2010. gives you the superscript number link, rather than a blue "Michael Woodrum" link -which more suggests an internal link to a Wikipedia page.
I'll leave the helpme up, others may have more suggestions  Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:48, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict, while I was doing this  Chzz  ►  19:03, 29 June 2010 (UTC))[reply]

At the moment, it doesn't seem to meet the notability requirements - it needs independent reliable sources - see WP:VRS.
For example,
  • "realizerecords.com" and "soundmovesaudio.com" are not independent references.
  • "vancouver-music-blogs/press-release" is both unreliable and it is not independent.
If you wish to have it deleted, edit the page and put this as the first line;
{{db-author}}
That will mark it for deletion (user-requested), and it will be deleted when a volunteer admin has time.
Also, in future, it would help if you learn how to use inline references. Please look carefully at this edit, and see the help below.
Note, I have done that as examples only - I am not saying that those references are OK.
You cannot have external links within the body of the article; they can only be either a) references, or b) in 'external links' (see WP:EL for info on that).
For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello. Chzz  ►  19:03, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for all that help. This is all far too complicated for me at this time. I'll just wait until someone else can do it in the future. Can it just be deleted entirely, so it's not searchable and doesn't come up on google really soon? Thank you VERY much, I sincerely appreciate any help anyone has given.Hophatcat (talk) 01:21, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Both are now deleted (as you can see, they are 'red links')
Very sorry you've had troubles. Please, if I can help in any way, do ask me. Chzz  ►  06:54, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
