Full book names
[edit]In regards to my moves of the book titles that you have seen; there is not a guideline that I can see that does not prevent such a thing. Also, the name that shows up in the articles that I moved shows up in bold in each articles opening paragraph, so the move is meant to match what title shows up in the opening paragraph (which is the way articles should look.) If you desire, please start a discussion regarding these moves; as I see, the moves should have been considered uncontroversial since they match the titles that show up bolded in the very first sentence in the opening paragraph of each of those articles. - There being no guideline that prevents it is not the same thing as its being a good idea. Use common sense. The subtitles are not required in article titles in most cases, and you should not be edit warring to add them. Interested in science (talk) 21:02, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
- Like I stated, feel free to start a discussion. I'll gladly join in. Steel1943 (talk) 21:04, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
- I did comment on the issue at the WikiProject Books page. Interested in science (talk) 21:05, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
- All right. By the way, I posted one more reply to your statement on my talk page. I'll probably end up transferring it to that page, but I thought I would let you know. Steel1943 (talk) 21:08, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

- I started a more proper discussion at Wikipedia talk:Article titles#Should books have full titles, or short titles when necessary?. Steel1943 (talk) 21:37, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
I just saw the response on Wikipedia talk:Article titles
[edit]Looks like there was a policy. I think I need to be slapped in the face with a trout now. If you want to move those back, I have no objection. Unfortunately, I'm going to be away from any computing device for a while, and cannot do these moves myself, nor can I perform the moves (not you) since I performed another edit on the moves I performed to categorize the redirects. The best venue would be WP:RM/TR. I'd say post the link that SlimVirgin when posting the requests, and you should be all right. For what it's worth, sorry for the confusion. Cheers!
