Haha, thanks for the kitten. I graded your test but have two requests that you fix before I finish grading it and post the new content. Please let me know when you've done that! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 03:14, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

RE: Your offer of adoption

I would be happy to accept your offer! — Preceding unsigned comment added by PantherLeapord (talkcontribs) 22:53, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

PantherLeapord, wonderful! Please give me a few days to set up an adoption page for you, and I'll post on your talk page when it's ready! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 03:23, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
No worries! PantherLeapord (talk) 03:27, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

I would love that Jackson

Jackson, I would really love it if you would work with me. It's time I improve my editing skills. I have basically just done some minor editing to various pages, mostly copy edit, spelling and grammar, disambig links, and references etc. My goal is to write an article one day, however, I just don't feel experienced enough yet. A little about me....I am a single mother of four boys, have three grandsons, and work in the addiction field as a DUI Counselor (drunk/impaired drivers). I am a Registered Addiction Specialist and enjoy helping others. I have interest in anything involving addiction, crime drama, biographies, and movies. I am a pretty good writer and have taken a few collage level English classes. I am registered to take my next English class along with Spanish in the fall. I get awfully busy with life at times and sometimes my time here on wiki is very limited. Thanks so much for offering your services. I read your user page the other day and find it impressive, and I look forward to hearing from you. ~Thanks TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 04:51, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Ahhh I see someone else may have beaten me to it (just read the post above mine)... if you find it to be too much to take me on as well then I shall completely understand. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 04:53, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
No worries, TattØØdẄaitre§, once I set up my adoption center, I would love to take you on, as well! Just give me a couple of days and I'll let you know when we can start (and I'll reply in more depth)! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 06:17, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

What happened?

Hello,

I seem to have clicked a wrong link or something, because I now seem to have been "enrolled" for some sort of course. Could you fix this for me? I was just trying to figure out where your adoption school was :)

TheOriginalSoni (talk) 22:34, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

No worries, you just enrolled in Education_Program:Western_Michigan_University/Wikipedia_(2013_Q2). That is sort of where my adoption course is, along with User:Jackson Peebles/Adoption. Feel free to browse around to see if you're interested! I can definitely remove you from the course (as can you) if you'd like, or you can add yourself to the list on User:Jackson Peebles/Adoption#Waitlist if you're interested in participating. Let me know! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 22:40, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
I think it might be just a little bit too late for me to start adoption. My adoptees might not take too kindly to that, nor will be my previous adopter :P
If you could remove me from that, that would be great! Thanks. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 22:44, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Haha, no problem; you're unenrolled! Good point - I thought you were a bit advanced for an adoption course considering you're more experienced than me, but, hey - you never know!
There wasn't, but there is, now. I updated the table at User:Jackson_Peebles/Adoption#Current Adoptees so that it will link to each exam that they take. They've been instructed to leave questions on my talk page, so you can watchlist that, too, if you'd like. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 23:10, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Both pages have already been watchlisted. (You can therefore choose not to leave those TBs for me :) ) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 23:15, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
  • I may be stepping over the line with this suggestion, but may I request you to consider not taking any more adoptees for the time being? As experienced as you are in editing, I've noticed that adoption takes up a whole new and a different kind of experience to help others through, and taking too many adoptees for your first adoption school courses might be a risk in itself. I'd ordinarily suggest you to wait until you finish the full/half of the course with your current adoptees to get a hands-on experience with them, before taking new ones. But then again, it's just my suggestion :)
Also, if you're looking for someone to help around/oversee your courses, I'd be happy to lend a hand. Ping me if you're interested too.
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 01:04, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, will do! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 17:06, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. Regards from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Exam 1 (tattoodwaitress)

Good morning teacher, I completed exam 1. Not sure why the answers you have to scroll side to side to see the whole answer. I had left my browser open when i went to work last night so i could complete the exam today and got an "invalid toke" error when attemtpting to save the answers. I had to copy and paste the questions and answers after refreshing the page in order to save. Not sure if this had anything to do with it. Sorry if it did. Is it ok to answer a few questions, save for later, then complete the exam at another time if I have to leave for any reason (like work) so I dont run into that invalid token error again? I am not even sure why that did that. Maybe because I was using the edit tool and not the edit source? Anyhow thanks my answers are ready for you to review. Have a Happy and Safe fourth of July!! TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 17:31, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Good mid-afternoon! I'm thrilled with your progress and quickness. I think you'll do really great in this course, and I'm excited to work with you. I fixed the scrolling issue; I suspect it was, indeed, caused by our new visual editor, which I loathe (but suspect I'll get used to, as with most changes), but it was fixed by prefixing your answers with a colon (so the source read ":A - Answer..." rather than just "A - Answer..."). You shouldn't run into this issue with the next exam if you use edit source, as you mentioned. I reply to every single answer, so I suggest you go back and look at the old exam for follow-up, but the next exam is posted. Yes, it is always okay to answer a few questions and save the exam for later! These exams are intended to help you learn Wikipedia, not to grill you and put you under stress! That's also why I ask that you post to my talk page (so that I don't grade prematurely). I don't know about the token error, but don't worry about it.
While we're chatting, I realized that I was rude by not replying to your earlier post in more depth, and I apologize. That's quite an accomplishment to raise all of those children yourself, and congratulations on having such a large family. I also greatly respect your profession; if you read my user page, you probably noted that I specialize in behavioral science, so I see a bit of the counseling work and know that I would never be able to do it. Your English skills will come in handy, here; though grammar doesn't really matter on user talk pages, article space pages are riddled with ridiculous grammatical mistakes that make the whole project seem vastly less professional and accurate, even if the information is good. My interests are mainly in research and philanthropy - I'm a bit boring, though I do enjoy a good movie or novel, too! I hope to become and administrator at some point on Wikipedia, and I'm really pleased that you find time to help the encyclopedia, which I think is a fantastic project, despite all of your obligations! Anyhow, congratulations again, and thank you for the Independence Day wishes, I send them right back at you. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 19:42, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you so much for the personal touch! Yes counseling is not for everyone and there are days that I wonder how I leave work with any hair left. Ha ha! Its really gratifying though at the end of day, especially when you see the people you are helping finally "get it". I respect your love of behavioral science and also I believe you will do well and reach your goal of becoming an admin someday on Wiki. You are willing to help others and I see that you practice humility and respect with your comments (which is a huge part of the Admin position here) and sometimes very hard to do considering human behavior is sometimes less than admirable... so you are well on your way. I have responded briefly to some of the comments you left on my first exam and so happy to have been successful. Going to enjoy the rest of the holiday with my family before tackling exam 2. Cheers TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 22:32, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Good morning TGIF

Jackson, I have completed exam number 2 and my answers are ready for your review. Thanks!! TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 17:05, 5 July 2013 (UTC) User:Jackson Peebles/Adoption/Tattoodwaitress Exam 2 Adding link to the page to make it easier for you =) TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 17:08, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

I also have a question about something else. When I was new I created a page User:Tattoodwaitress/doc I had no idea what that page was suppose to be for and had planned on just saving links to places I wanted to revisit or help pages etc. Which I never really used it.. I just save things like that on my user page. Anyway, now I know what the /doc pages are suppose to be for and wondering should it be deleted? Or should I just delete the info on it and save it in case I actually ever want or need to use it for its correct purpose? I almost put a speedy delete template on it and then thought I should ask how to proceed since I really have no idea. Thank you. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ 03:29, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for being so timely on these exams, I apologize if I sometimes lag behind you a bit. Your exam is partially graded but requires follow-up. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. My opinion is that you should just go ahead and keep the documentation page and add to it as necessary; it doesn't hurt and might be handy. However, it's in your userspace, and you can do whatever you'd like with it. If you do want it deleted, you're right; just slap a speedy deletion template on it, and an administrator will delete it. It can always be recovered (or totally re-created - you can make nearly any page by just typing in the URL), too, so if you want that space, feel free to do what you'd like! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 06:54, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Good Morning Teacher, I have completed the exam. I am not sure about correctness of my answers. I have answered all the questions according to my belief and understanding of lessons.
