Edit summary!

[edit]

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to Cytochrome P450‎. Thank you. --Slashme 08:08, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo. I stumbled across your comment on the talk page of Development so I thought I would ask your opinion. This particular page is dire. I was looking at in the attempt to sort out the page Development geography which is also quite poor. It seems to me that the first section of the Development page is actually unnecessary as it is refering to Development geography anyway. Perhaps the development page should just be a link to all the other types of development. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks SuzanneKn (talk) 19:18, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1994 Sierra article

[edit]

I saw your comment on the pcb talk page. Do you have the full citation details for the article? If you could reply here it would keep the thread of conversation in one place. Thanks, - Neparis (talk) 16:53, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have the citation - that material was already in the talk section, having been removed from the article due to style issues, and the fact that it was uncited. I also had concerns that quoting Sierra magazine directly and extensively might run into copyright issues, although now that I know a bit more about fair-use it might not be as much of an issue as I feared. Jed (talk) 15:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can find the citation offwiki. - Neparis (talk) 01:45, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just found the original 1994 text online: Conspiracy of Silence Jed (talk) 18:55, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for that and for your excellent edits to the article. I have been working on the article in fits and starts for some time, and am hoping to develop it into a WP:GA or a WP:FA directly. That requires expanding the article in some places, and resolving all the "citations needed" tags, at least one of which can be resolved by citing the Sierra article. If you are interested in helping to get the article up to GA or FA standard, I'd appreciate a hand or two! - Neparis (talk) 23:36, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would love to have it up to FA standards. I work with PCBs, and work for someone who has spent much of the last 35 years working on them. It's in my interest to have a good article, and in some way I feel it's a duty to my employers (Federal taxpayers) to let them know what I work on (that they pay for). I'm incredibly busy at the moment, but I think sometime in the next month things should loosen up enough for me to do some serious work on it. I've got some more historical papers to go through to update that section. Jed (talk) 02:05, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent. I look forward to when we can do some work together on improving the article! I have no doubt we can get it to FA. By the way, I have seen a utility company technical document describing a previous standard practice until the 1970s of venting expired PCBs from transformers by pulling the drain plug, and letting the fluid run into a gravel-lined drainage pit beneath the transformer, presumably to soak away into the surrounding dirt. However, I may not cite the document. Have you by chance got a citation for such a practice? - Neparis (talk) 02:15, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, but I'll see what I can find. There may be all sort of things floating around here. Jed (talk) 16:43, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Biodegradable plastic, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Additive (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Yacht Silver Cloud has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

someone's private boat is nonnotable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited John Welsh (biologist), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Harold Gordon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
