Is this process in use by anyone? --Abu-Fool Danyal ibn Amir al-Makhiri 16:34, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, it was kicked off as a knee jerk reaction and didn't get anything close to a general acceptance.ALR 16:53, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But I guess the idea was it didn't need general acceptance. It was just supposed to be something people did under the existing systems. My question is: has anyone actually done so? I believe the answer is still no, but I'm asking anyway. --Abu-Fool Danyal ibn Amir al-Makhiri 17:41, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am only aware of one Wikipedian who went through this process, Metamagician3000. // Internet Esquire 18:35, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, I said I was prepared to give it a go and to report back; another person said he was prepared to act as a verifier. It went quite smoothly in my case, as we both reported, and that fact could give some confidence to anyone who wants to go through such a process while retaining their anonymity. I see no barrier to anyone else doing this at any time, provided they can find a verifier who is likely to be trusted as not being a sockpuppet, or meat puppet, or otherwise acting dishonestly. Whether there is actually any interest is another thing. Metamagician3000 00:05, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
