Judge Crater

[edit]

Thank you for your excellent work at the Joseph F. Crater article. This story continues to amaze me, and hopefully the recent developments will allow this article to continue to be flushed out. Far too often stories from this era are forgotten in favor of the new cable news era media coverage. Just look at the size of the Natalee Holloway article. Tookie Bear

[edit]

I hang out on the current events pages. I had a lot of fun with Hurricane Katrina, just watching the contribs roll in and laughing at the edit wars. I was brand new to wiki then and wasn't willing to step up. I think I broke out of that mold, eh? :P Wikipedia's a fun way to spend my midnight shift and it can be "work related" so I don't get yelled at too much. I'm sorta morbidly dissappointed with the aftermath of TookieGate though. I expected SOMETHING to happen.... What do I get? Jesse Jackson. Sago Mine

[edit]

Thanks! I was not the original creator, but I was doing newpage patrol when I stumbled across the beginnings of the article a couple of nights ago. I dropped what I was doing and spent the next hour Googling the news up ... I felt we had a responsibility to put as good an article in front of the public as possible.

We need some standing policy on naming current-events articles to avoid all this. I have never seen a current-events article get moved so much. This was not fair to readers. Daniel Case 17:15, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. This was madness. Joe McCullough | (talk) 17:22, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Farmington Mining Disaster/Temp

[edit]

I put in a bit more work on the draft, thanks! What else does it need? Harveyj 20:49, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just more meat, but I think the basics are there. Not much good hard info on the accident could be found though. Joe McCullough | (talk) 21:02, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CVU status

[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you!
