- It said Democrats and Republicans pushed to stop it when it was only Democrats that were fighting against it. Republicans had been trying to push through the legislation for decades. How is saying the southern Democrats created Jim Crow not relevant to the topic?
- The republicans were created to end slavery. John Scagleone (talk) 23:13, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- A god hunk of that page is revisionist history. It was 100% the democrats that started segregation, and were the cause of the Civil Rights Act even needed to be establishes. It is pushing a political narrative and a lot of that page needs to be edited.
- In the copy and paste below the word "Republicans" needs to be removed because it is historically not true. All the names under it are even Democrat come on man
- "Democrats and Republicans from the Southern states opposed the bill and led an unsuccessful 60 working day filibuster, including Senators Albert Gore, Sr. (D-TN) and J. William Fulbright (D-AR), as well as Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), who personally filibustered for 14 hours straight." John Scagleone (talk) 23:16, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- Of the 71 senators who voted to end cloture (and thus make the Civil Rights Act the law of the land), 44 were Democrats and of the 29 who opposed, six were Republicans.
- You added the information about Jim Crow as a partisan attack on modern Democrats, which I know because that parenthetical you added after Robert Byrd's name was the same sort of crap. City of Silver 23:18, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- that was speaking about fillibusters. No Republicans filibustered. Robert Byrd is the mentor of president Joe Biden. That's not even a hidden fact, history doesn't care about emotions. That whole page ignores the reality of why that legislation was even needed. John Scagleone (talk) 23:21, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- Something can be both true and irrelevant. This whole debate belongs on your Facebook page or something like that because you're out of chances here. City of Silver 23:24, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- While what you say is most definitely true, in this case its necessary. But I should've expected this. Everyone told me wikipedia isn't as trusted as it used to be and pushes propaganda now. Do what you want to do but one day the African Americans will wake up to this scam that's been used on them. I'm disappointed in this site John Scagleone (talk) 23:28, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

You can take all that up on Facebook: your commentary is inappropriate on Wikipedia. To state the obvious: I'm talking about stuff like this. Drmies (talk) 23:18, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
