Welcome!

Hello, Jondoig, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like List of Member banks prefix:Talk:Federal Reserve System, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. From the page you have created, List of Member banks prefix:Talk:Federal Reserve System, I am concerned you may not understand Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a forum. This helpful list gives other things Wikipedia is NOT. If you have a factual question, please ask at the reference desk. Thank you. Intelligentsium 01:15, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I've removed the bot's message (as you can see :D). Sorry about it, but it can't identify when users are requesting page deletion, unless you use {{db-g7}}, in which case it will. So if you happen to need a page you created deleted in the future, just replace it with {{db-g7}}. Cheers - Kingpin13 (talk) 01:29, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for the speedy responses, folks.

FYI I managed to create the page in the wrong place by using "Search Talk Archives" on Talk:Federal Reserve System to search for "List of Member banks", then reviewing the search results and clicking on the link:

You may create the page "List of Member banks prefix:Talk:Federal Reserve System", but consider checking the search results below to see whether it is already covered.

I thought that would add the section I wanted to the talk page, but instead, embarrassingly, it created an actual Wikipedia article with that bizarre title. Jondoig (talk) 01:43, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Anthony Watts (blogger), but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Blogs and other wikis rarely qualify as reliable sources and primary sources are generally not acceptable, and more so when they have been visibly altered.Novangelis (talk) 13:28, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
