[edit]

Hello, I have just removed the content you resubmitted to Irving Shipbuilding, because the previous issues have not been fixed. I can't speak to why the previous editor removed your additions, but I'm seeing a lot of problems, including inappropriate inline external links, inappropriate "big" font and bolding, broken/inappropriate nowiki formatting, incorrect use of capitals, unformatted citations, and generally just a whole lot of style issues.

I see that you must have put in a lot of work on this. Your content still exists in the page history, and you should feel free to resubmit it, once these problems are addresed (consider copying it to your sandbox to do test edits). Before you edit anything further, please do read up on the Manual of Style; I'll attach an automated message below that contains some helpful links.

Please do not continue to resubmit the same changes at Irving Shipbuilding, or you'll be getting into edit war territory and risk your account being blocked. Your contributions are welcome here, they just need to be done the right way. Thanks, Jessicapierce (talk) 04:53, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 04:53, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Kabiblehopper. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Irving Shipbuilding, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:47, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Manual of Style

[edit]

Please read the Manual of Style, linked above. Your recent changes at Irving Shipbuilding have required a ton of cleanup. See my first attempts here. Wikipedia is collaborative, and minor errors can always be patched up by subsequent editors, but you are really asking a lot of others.

If you're writing about ships, their names need to be formatted like this: [[HMCS Frédérick Rolette|HMCS ''Frédérick Rolette'']], in order to display like this: HMCS Frédérick Rolette, and your sentences should be complete. I am actually begging you to take more time with your next submissions. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 23:32, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from Irving Shipbuilding into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:44, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
