Apink's endorsement

[edit]

Hey,just want to tell you Eunji is the ONLY Apink member to endorse in Fanta. Apink members only appeared in the MV, they did not endorse Fanta. Eunji was in charge of Pineapple flavor, Kwangsoo was Orange and Niel was Grape. The rest of the Apink members did not endorse in it. Video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJzfP3PyHEw — Preceding unsigned comment added by Isomacho (talkcontribs) 00:36, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have edited Apink's endorsements, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong, I just don't want to start a war. Ke ac lam viec tot 02:27, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Edit on 6 Apink members' page

[edit]

I have edited contents of 6 Apink members' page, link to Apink' pages. Because I found that they are very simple and lack of information (except Jung Eun-ji's page). I tried to make them more complex, but I found it's unnecessary to update every information on their own page along as Apink's page. It's take time and very useless. So, I have edited them, when Apink has a new event, we needn't update on page of member has concerned with. Sorry for my bad English (if it's bad). Sincerely. A Pink members pages

[edit]

Several users have edited these members pages Discography, Filmography etc. but you always choose to edit them again. These edits are made because this is how an artist's page is normally done. (See other artists' pages for examples) It doesn't matter if you deem the info too little to be formatted as such, because the artist's work aren't all related to the group and would need a list of its own. The artist's page would be updated over time, please let other Wikipedia users help improve the artists pages. Lonedirewolf 10:29, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

.All information you and other users have edited, are in A Pink and A Pink discography. When you add info to 2 pages, you must add info to artist's page has concerned with. That's useless and time-consuming. Artist's page should be updated when the artist has solo activities, and in Career section, not in those section you have named. If you want to improve artists' page, please add useful information, not some ugly tables. If you have information on Discography, Filmography, etc. please add them to A Pink and A Pink discography. I'm not a superior user, I don't have right to forbid other users edit on those artists' pages, but they should edit in the right way, or I will edit their edits. Sincerely. Ke ac lam viec tot (talk) 07:42, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Like I've previously stated, these edits are done for a reason. Jung Eun-ji is a member of A Pink but that is not her sole identity. (This applies to the other members pages as well) She has activities outside of the group which is why this person has a separate page where information about her (Her work, achievements, etc.) is written. You are not the only person editing these members pages so don't feel like this is such a bothersome task when you only want it to look a certain way. As I've also previously stated, check other artists pages. Before you insist on only applying edits on the group's page and their discography, you should also know that other groups have a separate page for their discography and filmography as well, but the members in the group also have information about their work and achievements on their own pages. Which are commonly, in what you call 'ugly tables'. Lonedirewolf 15:48, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When you look at your edit in their pages, what do you see? Ugly tables, some lack of info, some have wrong info, don't have a neutral view. FIY, I tried to edit their pages look better when I've just a beginner. At that time, all 7 pages (including A Pink) were ugly (tables didn't have same size); lacked of info, because when a user add info to A Pink, he/she forget to add to the artist's page has concerned with, and vice-versa. There is a time, I were the only user updated their pages, and I wondered: "Why do I have to do this, all I have to do is combine their activities to one page, and link everyone to that page." So, I removed all info, moved them to 2 A Pink pages, and link everyone to them. All 7 members (including Yoo-kyung) have an own page, to inform every reader about their life and works, but they are members of their group, their works should be in their group page. I know, when I revert your edit, you will do the same to me, and a war begins (nobody wins...). I will revert your edit on Kim Nam-joo page, please leave her page alone, and I won't do anything with your edit in other members' page (just look them cluster in time). Sincerely. Ke ac lam viec tot (talk) 09:04, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As you are a beginner, you should learn a few things about Wikipedia articles then. You are being stubborn and are refusing to see why I and several users keep editing these pages. If you edit her page I will just edit it back and even if you do edit it again, someone else will edit it again. Why? Because it's proper. If you refuse to see how it's done, and want these pages to look how you want them to, especially your bias from the group, because in your eyes it's 'ugly', then I suggest creating your own 'Wiki' of the group to make it look however you want it to. It's very similar to how it's done here. Lonedirewolf 17:12, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a simple way to understand it. While her achievements will be included in the group's pages since she is still promoting with them, her achievements are her own, hence, these are seen on her personal wikipedia page for the people to see. Let's say, like Yoo-kyung, she leaves the group. Her achievements would no longer be part of A Pink's pages from the time she left since she is no longer promoting with the group, right? These girls are artists, their achievements are their own, not just with the group. It should be seen on their pages what they've done with their careers so far. Eunji, for example, the info we put on her page is her own work, not the group's but why are they included in the group's pages? Because she's still promoting with them. If you find it so difficult to edit both pages, leave the members pages to us and you can just edit the group's page/their discography. Lonedirewolf 17:48, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, let me review your edit on those pages. When you're trying to prove me wrong, you have made a funny mistake on Kim Nam-joo page: You added "A Year Ago" to her "Music video appearances". That's funny, she sings that song, in the same-name MV, of course, she have to appear in that MV. I can remove it, you can't argue with that. And Discography, will be blank. One thing more, you can't call a person by his/her first name in a Wikipedia article, you must call he/she by surname (WP:Surname) or his/her full name (more exactly). So, you should write the artist's full name in your edit.
On Jung Eun-ji page, if you don't know how long of songs you added in Discography, you should remove the Duration part. I don't think readers will interested in those info.
On those 6 pages, I see one thing: You have edited those pages so quickly, you've just collected info from 2 A Pink pages, then create tables. Those tables don't look neat, this is long, that is short, like a terrible fence. I guess, you thought: "These tables, they're so nice" or "There are other users, they will make these tables nicer". Why do you add them without formatting? That's irresponsible. You just want to win over me, on this non-sense war, for just nothing.
I will edit Kim Nam-joo page nicer (I'm good at that). 5 other pages, you change or keep your edits, I don't care. I promise I won't remove Discography content. Sincerely. Ke ac lam viec tot (talk) 14:35, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Observer comment Lonedirewolf is correct in this case. Activities by individual members should be differentiated from activities by the entire group. For instance, APink released the album Une Année as a group, so that would be on the group's page, but the Three Days' OST It's You was made exclusively by Eunji, so it would be on Eunji's page. While the tables might be, uh, ugly, it is customary to organize a K-pop member's activities in a table for a better presentation (for instance, see Miss A's Bae Suzy#Discography). You are free to clean up the tables to make them look better, but please don't remove the information and add it to the group's page. While we appreciate the contributions you made to the members' pages, you might want to discuss controversial changes in the articles' talk page before making them next time. Thanks! Pink BnN

[edit]

Hi, are you sure the official name is Apink BnN? I checked the APink's Facebook and it is called Pink BnN. It was tagged as "#PinkBnN". Furthermore, the official audio and the music charts also named them as Pink BnN. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Isomacho (talkcontribs) 09:45, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have thought cafefully before I edit their group name. The following is proofs the official name is Apink BnN:
  1. The group logo. We maybe have misspelled the group name, because there is an 'A' word hidden behind 'PINK' word. (this proof's so weak).
  2. The picture has Yoon Bomi and Kim Nam-joo were showing their autograph, on Facebook. In that picture, you can see Yoon and Kim wrote 'Apink BnN' on the paper. Proof (this proof's slightly strong)
  3. This video. If I don't hear wrong, Yoon Bomi has said 'Apink BnN'. The title is also has that name. (this is strong)
  4. On Gaon chart. That website write group name is 'Apink BnN'. (this is weak, because I don't know what the other websites will write.)
I'm so confused, because there are 3 versions of their group name: PINK, Pink and Apink. I have chosen the last version because 2 members have written and said that, proves they like and approve that name. I'm not expecting you will agree with me, but I think the name I edited is right. Sincerely. Ke ac lam viec tot (talk) 15:19, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are free to edit the page when you have sufficient evidence that it's the official name of the group and not just because the two members 'like' it. News and other sources (such as the name on Facebook, Official audio, and the name used on Music Charts as the other user has mentioned) have it as 'Pink BnN'. You may change the references when you have them. (References accepted by Wikipedia of course) Lonedirewolf 23:37, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Examples of this type of page for other K-Pop groups

It is commonly done for other K-Pop artists because it shows music show wins. Lonedirewolf 23:09, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's common, doesn't mean it's the best. If you want, you can create a seperate infobox for music shows. Or, you can upload the custom infobox, make it the template for Kpop musicians. If it becomes an official template, I will use it. Your custom infobox has bad code: unclear, difficult to edit, increases the page size unnecessarily. Sincerely. Ke ac lam viec tot (talk) 15:35, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You're also free to leave it alone as it is since it's difficult for you to edit. Other users can edit the other pages with no trouble at all and they seem capable. They'll also know what to do with this. Lonedirewolf 23:41, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Key difference

[edit]

I should of included this in the other but I forgot. What are the key differences between Template:Infobox South Korean musician awards and Template:Infobox K-pop artist awards. Jaewon [Talk] 16:49, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Both of them are for one purpose: list all awards and nominations of K-pop artists. Wait for my explanation,I am on phone, can't write long.
But I've optimized the code of the original template (Infobox musician awards) to make my template look nicer than Lonedirewolf's one.
  1. I removed some awards K-pop artists can't achieve (in Europe, USA, Australia...) and added some awards in K-pop.
  2. I removed 20 awardN parameters to slim the code.
  3. I edited my template to look nicer on mobile version of Wikipedia (it worked, at least for me!).
  4. I created documenation explains about how to use my template.
Lonedirewolf's template has heavy code (he kept all the code from the original template and added his code) and its documentation is so simple.

Template tables for K-pop

Wikipedia:Ownership of articles

[edit]

Hi Keaclamviectot, it's great that as a fan, that you are taking such an interest in the APink articles, however I consider your constant reversion of these article to your own preferred ideal of what the articles should look like (as can be seen in the edit history of the Yoon Bomi and the section on APink member's pages above) as violating policy with regards Wikipedia:Ownership of articles. I'll not needlessly edit war with you over the Yoon Bomi article, though I feel that I have every right to add that material, and re-add her appearances in variety shows for that matter, as you have to remove them, but I will share with you one of my observations with regards editing wikipedia.

One of the great things about Wikipedia articles is that they are not dead stuffy articles in paper encyclopaedias, but living changeable things, that grow and change, one of the great joys of editing Wikipedia is to see an article you helped edit grow and morph, and become something better than you yourself could think of, write or create, on the other hand one of the saddest is to see an article that has ossified, stable and almost unchanged over the years. I've created both, and I know which gives me the most pleasure. The dead articles remind me of the garden in the The Selfish Giant who because he loved his garden so much he walled it off from the intrusion of others, and because he did so saw it whither and die. Your constant reversion of others in these articles is building a wall to other users. Yes sometimes badly written dross is added to an article, but sticking with the garden metaphor the goal should be to weed and prune not concrete over the flowerbeds. So my suggestion, and this is only a suggestion, is to take time off from these articles, work on something else you enjoy, and come back in a couple of months or more time and see where the articles have gone. The alternative is that sooner or later someone is going to call you out for ownership.--KTo288 (talk) 15:25, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article title and content

[edit]

Let me summarize the current situation with the article Jung Eun-ji.

About two months ago, you moved the article Jung Eun-ji to Jeong Eun-ji with this edit, alleging that it was the 'correct name.' I immediately started a WP:RM discussion to establish consensus that the article title be moved back to Jung. The article was moved back by a closing administrator with this edit, citing consensus in the discussion as well as the fact that the previous move (yours) did not have consensus in the first place.

The argument that the name in the article content should differ from the article name to encourage a split in consensus (as you phrased in this edit is ridiculous). This usage of the alternative name does not fall under the criterion established under MOS:LEADALT as being more 'appropriate than the name used as the title of the article' and diminishes readability anyhow.

Furthermore, I cannot understand why you insist on naming the artist as 'Jeong Eun-ji' when your arguments for doing so has been all rebutted. I have repeatedly stated (and created a consensus, according to the closer) that WP:COMMONNAME of the artist is Jung Eun-ji, as established in the RM discussion. This also extends to foreign name, as established in WP:UE. You had 3 arguments, which has been all responded to.

  • First, the idea of 'correct romanization' falls flat. It is agreeable that '정' is usually tranlsated to 'Jeong' in English. However, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Korean) holds that 'Personal, organization, and company names should generally be romanized according to their common usage in English sources' and that names should only be romanized according to RR or MR if 'there is no established English spelling.' Your further arguments about how 'English-speaking people don't have any right to change a correct word to an incorrect one, just because they can't spell it' is outside the scope of discussion. Jung is the most-used English name, and thus should be used according to policies provided above. Also, going back to the example of Taekwondo, it does not meet RR (which is Taegwondo) or MR (which is T'aegwŏndo), but is according to the common English usage, due to policy.
  • Second, about 'official' names. It is also agreeable that 'Jeong' may be the official name for the artist, but as WP:COMMONNAME states in the second paragraph, 'Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it prefers to use the name that is most frequently used to refer to the subject in English-language reliable sources.' Again, please see Wikipedia:Official names for an explanation about this policy.
  • Third, about the idea that two the A Pink official websites are 'stronger' than the sources that I have given. Again, this is tangential to the discussion. This would only be a problem if sources that I have given do not meet WP:RS, in case of using blogs or other unreliable sources. However, my presentation of GOOGLETEST and Naver both demonstrates that Jung Eun-ji is the common name. Again, to quote [[WP:COMMONNAME], 'Wikipedia prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in reliable English-language sources).'

In short, please recognize that your personal preference for the name is against Wikipedia policy. Be noted that Consensus does not have to refer to unanimity, and only need to address legitimate concerns (per WP:CON), which I believe I have adequately addressed in this section. Please remember that editing must respect the rules and policies established, and that WP:LAWYERING by selectively picking portions you want without respecting the spirit of the policies is forbidden. I hope that we can agree on this issue.

Regards. KJ Discuss? 08:41, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I just moved it one month ago, not two. OK, I will not revert your edit anymore, but I'm still disagree with you. Just one thing, the sentence you write in summary of your revert edit is in any case, the name used in the article should usually be consistent with the title. Is there a rule said that? If yes, you are the one violate first, when you edited that article when it was "Jeong...". If no, how can I follow your word? That sentence is useless, you shouldn't said that. Don't be angry, I just do what I think is right, you needn't use big words to scare me. About consensus, you said my move is no-consensus, how about yours? Because yours is no-consensus, admin maybe move that article as proposal of Random86 and Dekimasu. If yours has a consensus, why does admin write Following this discussion, it must remain at that title until there is consensus to move it to another? I don't want to contest his decision, just because the page move review is so complicated, and if I do that, you and me know we will never reach a consensus. Byebye. Regarding edits made to AOA's members table

[edit]

You removed the angel names from AOA's members table 3 weeks ago on the grounds that they were unsourced. AOA's angel names are indeed official; they were introduced with these names by FNC Entertainment during their debut and the Korean Wikipedia page also lists them. Here is the source as required.

I'll include the names in English and Korean as well, for the sake of completion.

  • 지미넬 (JIMINEL)
  • 초아야 (CHOAYA)
  • 유나리아 (YUNARIA)
  • Y (하프엔젤)
  • 혜정리너스 (HYEJEONGLINUS)
  • 민아링 (MINAHRING)
  • 설현아리 (SEOLHYUNARI)
  • 찬미티티 (CHANMI T T)

Please revert the table, and include the citation as you see fit. Yrbg2563 (talk) 11:05, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Yrbg2563: Feel free to edit them. I don't edit them without warning, I have created a discussion in the talk page of article, and set up a deadline (seven days). Actually, I edited that article eight days after that discussion. In those eight days, no reference added to support angel names. I just do what I think is right, don't blame me.
