Medical tourism
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia!
I completely agree that the article needs a major overhaul and I will support changes based on content from reliable sources.
There does not appear to be a current group of people actively working on the article, but it still may be a good procedure to post a message on the talk page of the article stating your intention.
good luck! -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 03:12, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
- as a note, "it is important to note" is non-encyclopedic phrasing and should be avoided. Such claims should be either specifically attributed in a direct quote (ie "Prof. John Doe of University X states that 'It is important to note ...' " (source)) or if it is a widely held position, the content should just be stated and then sourced (ie "The phrase does not have a specific widely agreed upon definition.(source)(source)) -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:37, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you Khadkhall (talk) 20:41, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- i am not really familiar with the sources, but "most" without a specific source that says the actual words "most experts say...blah blah blah" is not a recommended method. I would recommend something along the lines of "Definitions of medical tourism include "X" (Carrera & Bridges) and "Y" (Reisman)".
- Wrtiting for Wikipedia is different than most other writing where it is expected the author brings new insights. For Wikipedia, we are just gatherers of information and opinions that have already been published and attempting to present the various scholarly views in the proportion that they are held letting the sources speak for themselves.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 21:16, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
