Martin Dano

[edit]

Dear King of Hearts, I saw, that you deleted the artice about Martin Daňo? you wrote that he is not notable however He is the one of the 3 most known journalists in Slovakia, the presidential candidate, etc....etc... and there are many articles which refer to his name. He is found of the biggest political video channel in Slovakia. I think that you removed it in bad intention. There are also universities which refer to his work, for example https://europeanjournalists.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Media-Freedom-of-Speech-and-Democracy-min.pdf - page 78, Please, review it and undelete the article. Please see this discussion for why the article was deleted: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Martin Daňo. If you can present examples of significant coverage in multiple secondary sources, then I can consider restoring it. -- King of ♥ 21:19, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Long Island City

Long Island City is a residential and commercial neighborhood located on the extreme western tip of Queens, New York City, on the western edge of Long Island. Incorporated as a separate city in 1870, it was originally the seat of government of the town of Newtown before becoming part of New York City in 1898. Long Island City was once home to many factories and bakeries, some of which are finding new uses, and starting in the early 21st century, it became known for its rapid and ongoing residential growth and gentrification, its waterfront parks, and its thriving arts community. The area has a high concentration of art galleries, art institutions, and studio spaces.

Eddie Bravo Invitational

[edit]

Hi King of Hearts, I've read the discussion about the deletion of the Eddie Bravo Invitational page (a page about a sports tournament), from reading that discussion, I see that the page was deleted due to having a promotional tone, and due to the complete lack of reliable sources. If I understand the discussion correctly, those were the primary reasons, not lack of relevance.

If the above interpretation is correct, I would like to volunteer and contribute to the page so that it is up to Wikipedia standards. I'm not sure how much of the old content would be salvageable but I could start a page from scratch if needed. I've been told by other Wikipedians that I should contact you first, since you are the administrator who closed the page.

In case my interpretation is incorrect, and the page was actually deleted due to lack of relevance, I would like to be given the chance to find reliable sources supporting the relevance of this topic. My main 2 theses are:

1. Many of the most successful athletes in the discipline of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu have taken part to that tournament over the years, so it has relevance in the context of that sport. 2. The event was a notable example of submission-only tournament (i.e. the match is decided by submission, not by points), due to its specific ruleset, and as such it has had influence over other submission-only tournaments that were created in recent times.

I believe I can find good quality sources in support of those two points.

What's your opinion about my request?

Thank you for reading!

Can you please present the three best sources which, in your opinion, demonstrate the notability of the tournament? -- King of ♥ 15:31, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
