Ha! Funnily enough, when I got round to checking this out, they'd got some fresh vandalism which hadn't been rollbacked. Explanation
Hi Steve, I just thought I'd explain why I bailed out of the project. I really am sick to death of Americans shooting first and asking questions afterwards, in particular anything to do with The Beatles. They come in, impose "American English" then when they're taken to task, it's "I wasn't trying to do anything of the kind, I don't understand what's wrong"! Please find a way to put a different photo on Brian's page. There are thousands of images of Brian out there, and there must be at least one more that is cleared for use. The photo that represents him right now on his page is the most unappealing thing I've ever seen of him. I'm sure Brian would have been disappointed in its choice for a reference. Icky.
I joined Wikipedia only for the purpose of trying to get something done about this picture. The task of merely contacting an actual person seemed to take forever to figure out. But for Brian Epstein, nothing is too much trouble.
Unfortunately I can't magic a photo out of the air :) I don't have any! If you have a nice photo of him that is either free of copyright or which you own to the copyright to, please go ahead and upload it. That's how wiki works. --kingboyk13:27, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I notice that you have previously voted or commented on the proposal to delete the List of Statutory Instruments of the United Kingdom, 1996 page. The debate about the delete proposal ended with no consensus. This is just to let you know that I have started a discussion on how to go forward from here. Glos v South Glos
Dunno what list or map you used for determining your South Glos Villages, but note that Hillesley and Tresham were both returned to GCC from Avon in 1991 - the article Hillesley and Tresham is broadly correct here.Linuxlad13:23, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Whoops, sorry about that. I went on what the article said and if there was any doubt I used the net. Let's see... well in this case it would have been because that's what the article said. "Hillesley is a village in South Gloucestershire, England." [1] Those 2 look like merge candidates to me, they're barely even stubs. 99.9% certain! - the 1991 statutory instrument is referenced in the H & T article, and I remember the change ocuring shortly after I started going to Stroud DC meetings. (They were also encouraged to change their accents from saying 'Bristow' and 'good ideal' to speaking proper Glawstisher). Don't think it's really good to merge - they are about 2 km apart with Alderley in between (and slightly North) :-) see Multimap under Tresham. Bob aka Linuxlad14:55, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Heh! Really?! Well, anyway, I'll leave that to you, you might wanna remove them from the S Glos list if you're positive. Feel free to undo the redirects but the problem is the articles were crap, and 2 small villages covered 3 articles. Somebody had already undone the redirects! And the trouble with this is where do you stop? You then bundle in Alderley and Lower Kilcott and call it all 'south suburbs of W-u-E.' It's a very popular little walking area, especially with the Cotswold way through the middle, so the problem is similar to listing the hamlets of the Dove and Manifold Valleys. Most bizarre thing about that is that it's a brand new account who seems to really know what they're doing. Oh well. hey. you recently deleted the page for Goutetsu-ryū Ansatsuken, and whilst I'd like to have argued its case (or at least, better handling of the data involved - as some of the moves weren't "original research" and should have been merged with the relevant character pages) but nevertheless, I was using the info on the page a bit. and I was wondering if you could provide me with it? You recently deleted my addition to the Beatles page. Why did you do this??? All I did was add one link and it's the best Beatles News Webpage out there.....
Since the Project began on the 4th March, 14 new articles that we know of have been created - to see a list and add any we didn't know about, visit the Project Log.
Stick the following template {{Template:WPBeatles}} on relevant articles. We have 500+ already but may have missed some!

Welcome to the inaugural issue of The Beatles WikiProject's newsletter! We hope that this newsletter will help members—especially those who may be unable to keep up with some of the rapid developments that tend to occur—find new things to do within the project that they may wish to participate in.
Please consider this inital issue to be a prototype; as always, any comments and suggestions are quite welcome. We would like to emphasise that this is a collaborative Project and all editors are equal - so next month the newsletter editor might be you!
A small number of articles from the 1st batch still need to be classified (assessed). Some choice cuts remain, such as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band! Batch 2 will start soon so let's get these done!
If you create a new article related to The Beatles, whether or not it's on the above list, please follow these instructions. It's nothing heavy, it just helps us Project-structure wonks keep track of things.
Finally, if you haven't yet adopted an article for improvement, please see the list here.
As the project is currently just starting, our more experienced editors are working on the project infrastructure, classifying articles, and listing/assessing red links. Your assistance is welcome. If you would prefer to just edit - and why wouldn't you? - we have a choice selection of red links to turn blue and articles to clean! Now let's get busy.
Project: Add {{WPBeatles}} to the talk pages of all Beatles-related articles. Send a newsletter to members, canvas for new members, and coordinate tasks. Enter articles classed as stubs into this list (under To Expand) and also list articles needing cleaning and other work here.
If you complete one of these tasks, please remove it from the list and add your achievement to the project log.

That attitude (what's more important) is part of why I supported FloNight. But everyone needs to support or oppose for their own reasons... I think it's important to keep a clear distinction between making facts available (and making readers aware of them), and direct advocacy, so that's something to be careful of in my view. ++Lar: t/c13:44, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
I'm not such an important figure that an objection from me has to be considered a big deal, and direct advocacy (such as the emails I have received) I'm afraid will make me more resolute. An RFA shouldn't be a "popularity contest", and I have my reasons. I strongly suspect you will become an admin regardless of my contribution, and I look forward to working together. Please don't take it personally. Remember that the sq interwiki goes after the ru interwiki (because the native name is Shqip, so that they are in alphabetical order).

I don't get any namespace summaries, percentages for use of edit summary, or anything else like that. I presume that means it's broken, but I'm not sure. Let me check my JS console... In each case, the move is blocked by a redirect at the place I want to move the article to, which is why I need an admin's help. I hope the table is self-explanatory. (BTW, note the accents in the names: it's important that those are retained).

Thanks so much for voting on my request for adminship. I have decided to withdraw my nomination as it seems that consensus will not be reached. Why does my photo of the reocring of Give peace a chance trouble you? I took the photo and I have respected the guideines of Wikipedia. please let me know what your issue is.

I think the number of attempts at getting at fixed, and also the apparent need for a great deal of attribution (both as a watermark on the image and as a caption). We prefer to use totally free images and have no shortage of pictures for that particular article. It's just my opinion though. --kingboyk17:20, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
