Information icon Hello, I'm Mann Mann. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Tegan Nox have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Dakota Kai. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it.
Your edit here to Dakota Kai was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://twitter.com/ImKingKota) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. The site I added contains further info that can assist fans of celebrity / person of note. It was listed on wiki for months before suddenly being removed. It should be added back. Removing it was unfair. Knsffa (talk) 16:36, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's ultimate a non-notable fan site. Please see WP:EL for our guidelines around what links should be included. — Czello 16:38, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's hours of hard work, not NON-NOTABLE. Very disrespectful of you to say that. Knsffa (talk) 16:40, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Who are you to say ULTIMATE a non-notable? You don't know. It's a useful resource about the person's work created by a fan. Hours of hard work. You had no right to remove it. It's not negative. Please add it back. Thank you. Knsffa (talk) 16:44, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are you the creator of this fansite? — Czello 16:47, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why does that matter? Whatever is said you will turn it around to support not adding it. It's a useful source of info that I found helpful regarding the performer's earlier work. It's clear whoever runs it puts hours into it. You make it sound like it's a piece of shit waste of space. The way you phrased your reasoning sounds like a personal issue with it / person who created it and removed based on your biased loosely using wiki rules to support your choice. Knsffa (talk) 16:52, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My reasoning is that the external links section shouldn't link to fansites or other non-notable resources. It also wouldn't be considered a reliable source. As you're taking this rather personally I assume you're the creator of this website -- in which case I want to say it's not personal, it's simply that this isn't what the external links section is for. — Czello 16:58, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's a site run by a fan that contains useful resources, it's NOT non-notable or unreliable. That is my issue with your reasoning. Wiki's reasoning is shitting on someone's effort to create a useful resource. Wiki really needs to rethink their 'rules' because it's denying people knowledge of said resource that had previously been listed for months and apparently not a problem. Your choice of words though not intended to be literally has the power to make the creator whoever it is feel worthless and useless. It does me no good to add the link again so I won't. You stand by your choice, I stand by the choice Wiki / you made was unfair. Knsffa (talk) 17:09, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We hold high standards for what we consider to be a reliable source; we don't want to erode these standards or lower the bar for verifiability. A fansite won't have been fact-checked or demonstrated its reliability. If you feel your site has done these things, you could submit it for review at WP:RSN. Good day . — Czello 17:12, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
