1. If you want to pressure me into editing the Esperanza essay, don't. Just don't. If you persist, I will consider it harassment and seek administrative action.
Wikipedia is at heart a volunteer project; people freely offer their work because they want to. They're not obligated to work on a specific article, or to do any work at all. It took months of painful debate to settle on a mutually acceptable text, and I don't want to subject myself to any more stress on its account.
2. Please be civil and respect that this ismytalk page. That means avoiding excessive images (barnstars and smileys are fine, within reason), not treating my talk page as your personal chat room, and not altering your comments after the fact.
3. Please sign your messages by typing ~~~~ or by using the edit toolbar. The automated signature button is the one to the right of the crossed out "W".
Please understand if I do not respond immediately. Also please be understanding if I do not answer your message in the order that it was received, or if I do not answer your message at all. I just don't have the time or energy to respond to everyone, so please accept my apologies if your message goes unanswered.
I will ordinarily answer on your talk page, unless requested to do otherwise. Thank you!
You're very welcome for the welcome back. :) Tell me when you've updated the header and I'll semi-protect it for you. I am very glad to see you're back. Acalamari23:44, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your header is semi-protected. :) By the way, your user page is currently fully-protected by Riana. I had semi-protected it, but she changed it to full not long later. The protection will expire on 20:58, 14 August 2007 (UTC). Would you like me to change or extend the protection at all for you? Acalamari23:51, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed :) You were missed! I know you're probably still busy in meatspace, but I'll be looking forward to seeing you in my Watchlist anyway. Hoping you enjoyed your time away, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 00:38, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I really didn't want to see this page flooded with "welcome back" messages, but it would also be unpardonably rude of me to not welcome you back. ;) So, welcome back! :) — $PЯINGεrαgђ 23:58, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey!! I'm not sure why your talkpage didn't pop up on my watchlist, but your message on Alison's page did... I know you're still busy, but it's still great to have you around even a little bit :) ~ Riana ⁂12:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Kyoko! *huge tight hug* it's SO nice to see you around again, I missed you so much while you were gone! Looking forward to seeing you about and dropping in from time to time, love you tons <3 -- Editor at Large • talk16:50, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Kyoko, Thanks for your welcome to me, ref Doctor Faustus (Thomas Mann novel) edits, at my IP address number as a userpage (which I can't actually remember offhand...)! Very kind of you...I'm afraid my machine kept logging me in and out and I am the same user as Eebahgum, with whom I have been alternating edits! I have now made a fair lot of changes to Doc F and think I shall leave it about there, though a few more wikilinks may be in order. Should there be a template on this article? Hope you like it, Eebahgum13:58, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
and thankyou also for the other message! I didn't really notice that no-one had welcomed me as I purposely opened furtively. You could discover more by following me quietly to here and here as well, but I had to move away. It was that or leave completely. May peaceful and constructive thought surround you (and me!). Best wishes, Eebahgum22:24, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is me calling in from the days when you were making wonderful contributions to take the article Bengali Language Movement to FA status, and I was at the sidelines appreciating you. Now the article Biman Bangladesh Airlines is in need for your help. It is almost ready for an FAC, but the current Bangladesh lot still doesn't have a good copyeditor. Preston McConkie is helping out. But, it needs you. Please... pretty please... If you need to ask any question, or want someone to do a bit of research, I promise to help with everything I have. Just made an edit to History section but missed the inuse template. Feel free to overwrite my changes and I'll add them back in. → AA(talk) — 19:03, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Kyoko, can you tell me who is mainly responsible for the Clinical trials page? I appreciate your starting to simplify it. However, the whole article should be rewritten to be accessible to non-experts. I don't want to tamper with a "B" class article without getting some support. I am quite familiar with the field so for me to work on the page is more a matter of politics than expertise. One approach might be to have a simplified abstract of the page like an infobox. I really feel two articles, one for beginners and one for experts, would be the best solution. Any thoughts welcome. Sofia Roberts23:13, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've returned to Wikipedia in the last few days, and I notice by chance, that you seem to have too! Welcome back.
My last action before I left Wikipedia previously was to comment on your editor review - so I'm glad to see you around still and hopefully Wikipedia isn't causing too much stress for you :)
Hope things are going well. :) If you feel particularly motivated, you could always check out my current Editor Review. But, come and say Hi on my talk page at least! You're one of my favourites on here :) Pursey16:38, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Aspirin has been selected as this week's Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week! Please help us bring this article up to featured standards during the week. The goal is to nominate this at WP:FAC on September 10, 2007.
The Wikipedia:WikiProject Pharmacology main page has been updated and overhauled, to make it easier to find things, as well as to highlight other goals and announcements for the project.
Fvasconcellos notes that discussion is ongoing regarding the current wording of MEDMOS on including dosage information in drug articles. All input is welcome.
Hi Kyoko, I read your message. I'm going to try to simplify the page. One thing I like a lot is using boxes and numbered or bulleted lists. Inserting tables to reiterate long paragraphs of text will be my first way of making the page more user-friendly; that is, if I can find the template :) Sofia Roberts21:35, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Message from Coordinator: It's been almost two months since the last newsletter came out, so there are a fair few people who haven't really been kept up with our project. I'd like to welcome all those who have joined and those who have returned, and strongly reccommend that you use the talkpage for any queries or problems you have. Happy editing!

Thanks for supporting my recent successful RfA. I appreciate that you took the time to clarify your supporting statement and the humour you used when fixing another editor's comment. Let me know if I can help you out with anything. Cheers! -- Flyguy649talkcontribs03:41, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a brief update in some of the recent developments of WikiProject Pharmacology!
Aspirin has just completed its two week run as the first Collaboration of the Week! Many thanks to those editors that contributed; the article got a lot of good work accomplished, and in particular, much work was done in fixing up the history section. It's still not quite "done" yet (is a wikipedia article really ever done?), but after two weeks I think it's more important to push onwards with the development of the new collaboration of the week program. I will be fixing up Aspirin in the next few days and possibly nominating it for either GA or FA status.
Muscle relaxant has been selected as the new Collaboration of the week until October 2, 2007! This article is currently rated as a "stub", so it's got quite a bit of work cut out for collaborators! Admittedly, featured status could be a long way off,... but still attainable! At the least, maybe we could at least get it up to meeting the Good article criteria? Please stop by the article and help improve it.
Resveratrol, having recently achieved GA status on August 16, 2007, is now making a run for featured status. This is quite a fascinating compound. If you can, please stop by its discussion page and leave comments in support of it.
Please remember that Wikipedia is not a forum for discussing or dispensing medical advice amongst users. Specifically, talk pages of articles should only be used to discuss improving the actual article in question. To help alleviate this situation, the template {{talkheader}} may be added to the top of talk pages, reminding users of the purpose of such pages. Additionally, unsigned comments and comments by anonymous users that are inappropriate may be removed from talk pages without being considered vandalism.
I like it. Short and sweet, and a nice powerful message too. I'll leave your page at semi for now, let's see how we go. I've left the move-protection as sysop-only because there's no real reason for your userpage to be moved anyway. ~ Riana ⁂17:26, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not the usual RfA either. Thank you so much for supporting my RfA "over there" which passed unanimously today :) I really appreciate you taking the time out to do that (and your translation, too). I've translated your talk page, BTW, as requested.
I believe you now have Kyoko on en.wikt. Please try it out and let me know if anything still doesn't work. Note that I read my Wiktionary talk page far more regularly than the one here. Dvortygirl03:19, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
... I hope that this isn't going to cause any pain, but I just read your Esperanza essay. I was never involved in that in any way... but... your essay really pulled on my heartstrings. Anyway, don't know if I've got a point here, but I just felt like I had to respond in some way. I hope you are doing OK now Kyoko. - Ta bu shi da yu15:06, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was reading about Esperanza, which wasn't something I ever really paid much attention to (I cut back my admin duties during that time, so missed the furore). Then I went to another editor's page (username escapes me now), and then I saw Elaragirl's userpage and she said that you needed support. So I was curious, and went to your user page. Then I saw your essay in your user page. I'm really sorry about the whole debacle, people really pour their hearts and souls into Wikipedia (I do!) and when these sort of things happen it can be really painful. But I'm glad you're doing OK, and even more glad to see you still contributing to the project! If you need any help, give me a holler - via email, or on my talk page. - Ta bu shi da yu23:45, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, dear, for all the help, encouragement, love, patience and inspiration that keeps flowing from you. One of my friends - AA has is currently up for an RfA. If possible, you could take a peek. And, uh... could you take a look at Sitakunda Upazila? Looking for suggestions right now. Would take it to peer review soon. Aditya(talk • contribs)14:44, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I ran across your wonderful userpage and happened to notice that you speak French. I got involved in an article through my anti-vandal efforts that is primarily sourced from French language sources and I was hoping to find someone to review the content and keep an eye for additions that may violate WP:BLP. The article is Jean-Paul Ney. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Dreadstar†18:40, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your most kind response! I didn't mean to put pressure on you to watchlist the article, and I really appreciate any help you can provide. We've asked a couple of different Wikiproject French groups to assist as well. Thanks! Dreadstar†16:39, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, I wouldn't mind at all, on the contrary I'm flattered. No need to credit me, I think I just ripped it off from the {{afc top}} template with a few minor tweaks. delldottalk23:26, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The Novels WikiProject Newsletter - Issue XVII - October 2007

The LGBT studies project has been rather quiet of late. Though we've added over 180 new members in the last year, only a small percentage are active participants. If you haven't visited our project or talk page in a while, please stop by for a look. Also, if you happen to bump into another editor who you feel might enjoy working with us, please extend an invitation. There's lot's do do, and the active members would sincerely appreciate some help.
Our Peer review project is struggling at the present, with only a few people reviewing the articles. While it is certainly possible to submit articles for a general peer review, a review by members of the LGBT community can be of additional value for LGBT specific writing. There are several articles currently up for review on a wide range of topics. At the very least, reading the articles will undoubtedly broaden your intellectual horizons :-)
At the moment, David Le Brocq, Malmö Devilants and Trajectory Hermeneutics are up for deletion review. Please take a look at them and make your voice heard at the deletion review. Articles nominated for deletion also present a challenge for improvement. See what you can do, and watchlist our deletion review page.
The Pederasty articles continue to be a point of controversy both within and outside of our community. Various editors have suggested that to include them as LGBT Project related somehow taints the project and brings Wikipedia into disrepute. Other editors have stated that the articles, and especially the Pederasty article, are part of the core of LGBT studies. Well meaning editors continue to remove our tags from the articles themselves as well as the talk pages. If you have time, please read the articles and watchlist them to protect them from vandalism and well meaning but counterproductive edits.
The list of LGBT people has survived its 4th nomination for deletion. Please watchlist this list to protect it from vandalism and unsourced additions. There are many in Wikipedia who would like to see this Featured status list removed from the project. It is up to us to keep it to such a high caliber that it never is removed.
Our project member David Shankbone is now working as a journalist for Wikinews, as well as continuing to improve our project and Wikipedia as a whole with his photographs. A sincere thank you goes out to him for all of his hard work. Wikipedia would not shine nearly as brightly without your contributions, David.
The surviving life partner of prominent LGBT rights activist Barbara Gittings recently called one of our editors and, among other things, complimented us on what a great job our project is doing on Wikipedia. Thanks to everyone who contributes to this project, either through their article edits or support for other project members. We really are making an difference here!
Member assistance
Some of our project members have been having difficulties related to editing on the encyclopedia. If you are feeling frustrated or distressed by your editing experience, please don't keep it to yourself. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort, and we are all here to help one another. Drop a line on our talkpage or on another editor's page, and other members of the LGBT project will happily give you the support you want and need.
Lastly, Halloween is just around the corner. More than most holidays, Halloween is a holiday embraced by and tailor made to our community (though God only knows why we are invisible in the Halloween article here. Perhaps somebody would like to rectify that editing oversight). Have fun, everybody, and remember to both trick and treat!

Yes, me either; it would be completely unmanageable otherwise. I do try to check most diffs (using popups) to spot obvious vandalism or whatnot, but it has indeed become more of a "list of articles that interest me" :) I also watch some articles I've deleted, to check for recreation. I don't remember specifics offhand, but I have had a few nice surprises here (such as a copyvio being recreated with original material, or an article on someone seemingly non-notable being rewritten with good sources). Thank you dear Kyoko, for your kind words, I'm slowly feeling a bit better, although still quite tired. And yes, it is good to finally "meet" you officially, as of course, I know we've got many common Wiki-friends, and I've actually spoken of you quite fondly. Good morning, Kyoko, it's a pleasure to talk to you again. Ah, OK! I just open up the article in edit mode and Control+F </ref>, or whatever it finds is wrong, and correct it. And as for the e-mail, not at all, it was very helpful :) ~ Riana ⁂12:26, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I ran it through the parser myself (not uploading, just running it through) and found one last little </ref>,. Fixed that and it says it's OK - have a go now? ~ Riana ⁂13:19, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, it's you :) I've been meaning to catch up with you! Would you also be interested in becoming a Veropedia contributor? You're an awesome contributor here & the way Vero works is that all article improvement and editing is done on Wikipedia first. Whaddya think? - Alison❤23:01, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Add {{subst:js|User:Omegatron/monobook.js/addlink.js}} and {{subst:js|User:Gimmetrow/fixRefs.js}} to your monobook (saving and purging your cache after each; you may already have the first one). A link called "Fix reference marks" will appear in your toolbox, probably under "Special pages", when you are in edit mode. Click it and reference placement in the page/section you are editing will be fixed. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 00:35, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize for not providing an adequate explanation for removing your edit. I removed your edit at the same time as another, and assumed that both claimed notability by using the music. Trivia sections have proved contentious, especially in opera articles, and I have caused a bit of a stir on occasions by often making sweeping revisions. The guideline for trivia on Wikipedia (WP:TRIVIA) admits that it is difficult to separate irrelevant information from that that is notable. With regard to your edit, I believe there are two specific issues with claiming notability on the basis of plot. The first is that Der Ring is based heavily on mythology, and it is difficult to distinguish whether a later work is based on the original work (the Nieblungenlied) or the adapted work (Der Ring des Nibelungen). The second is that such a reference, in my opinion, adds nothing to the appreciation of the work, which is my test for inclusion on the site. I must admit total ignorance on the television program mentioned, but I doubt it will stay in the minds of Wagnerians the way Anna Russell and Apocalypse Now have.
