Speedy deletion
[edit]- Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia.
- I'm sorry, but this has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD. Generally, articles are speedily deleted when there is no assertion of significance or they fall into things to avoid. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information. Sometimes articles are deleted because they contain content copyrighted elsewhere. Such content can be used as a source of information, but the content here must be completely rewritten from scratch. Any deficiencies should be remedied before reposting as they can lead to repeated deletions..
- For basic information on beginning to write an article see User:Dloh/new.
- Sourcing is incredibly important for an encyclopedia. Be sure to list your sources at the bottom of the article.
- For more general information about the deletion process, please see User:Dlohcierekim/deletion
- If you believe the subject does in fact meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information, please contact me on my talk page.

- If you wish to make test edits or work on the article before creating it, you can create a test page at User:Lajollashores/sandbox and consider using the Article Wizard to guide you through the creation process.
- Cheers, and happy editing. Dlohcierekim 23:01, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add advertising or inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Dэя-Бøяg 22:50, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- I second the above user's note. I have deleted your additions to La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club from the history as a copyright violation. I will ask another administrator to review your username, which suggests both a conflict of interest and the intent to advertise the club. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 23:25, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
