BLP means living

[edit]

Please be careful with your maintenance tagging. You marked Arthur Lourié with the {{BLP unsourced}} tag, but BLP means biography of Living people and that article clearly states that he died in 1966. The-Pope (talk) 12:16, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh sorry, I missed that.--Lisztrachmaninovfan (talk) 22:42, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Chopin

[edit]

Hi. Re this edit, where's your evidence for saying these 2 works are one and the same? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 08:38, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First, the theme Chopin used for the Variations for four-hands on the Irish air uses the Carnival of Venice theme, which is a Venetian air. And second is that they were both composed in the same year, and published later at the same time, in 1965. Also, they are both B. 12a, and are both in D major. Is this enough evidence for the article? --Lisztrachmaninovfan (talk) 03:56, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

George Frederick Anderson

[edit]

Hi. Regarding this edit, where's evidence he died on his birthday? Is there a citation for his date of birth? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 00:49, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You mean born? On MusicSack: [1]. Two sources on MusicSack confirm that birthdate. Ignore the other: it is a mix-up with another George Frederick Anderson, who was not a violinist. I have sourced it now. --Lisztrachmaninovfan (talk) 00:54, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Friedrich Baumfelder

[edit]

Hi there, LMF (hope you don't mind the abbrev.:) -- I have a question re Friedrich Baumfelder. You've got him listed in Category:Child classical musicians, but there's nothing in the text of the article that supports inclusion in that category. As you may have noticed, the inclusion criteria are: "People who had significant careers in classical music before the age of 16 (including both performers and composers)". Do you have any info regarding this point? If you do, please be sure to add a line to that effect to the article. Best regards, Cgingold (talk) 23:31, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, I deleted his inclusion in that category right now, as that was put in before some bad information was fixed. One source said that his first works were published in 1850, making him about age 14 when he published them, but that source was disproved by many other sources. When that was fixed I forgot to delete his inclusion in that category. Thanks for pointing that mistake out. --Lisztrachmaninovfan (talk) 04:31, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, no problem -- these things happen. I'm glad to know that you got right on it and have already taken care of things! Cgingold (talk) 08:40, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your work on IMSLP

[edit]

Sorry, I've never been behind the scenes on Wikipedia, I know this isn't the purpose of a User talk page, but don't know how else to contact you. Please feel free to remove this post as soon as you've read it. I'd make it self-destructing if I could.

I am an undergrad student doing an independent study on Russian song literature, I recently noticed your upload of Grechaninov romances on IMSLP, I was wondering if there was any chance you had English titles for any of the pieces? You can contact me at [email protected], I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks! Thom.eiser (talk) 19:34, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is all good. I just sent you an e-mail.--Lisztrachmaninovfan (talk) 03:07, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hungarian cuisine, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Mustard and Mace. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
