Your draft article, Draft:Geir Hansen
Hello, Liverpoolpics. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Geir Hansen".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 17:35, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Great work!
Thank you so much for your diligent addition of photographs to Wikipedia! Also, if I were you, I'd just launch your many brilliant articles to mainspace instead of going through Articles for Creation. You've got a brilliantly eclectic taste for research and subjects. Translations and drafts with poor sourcing
When you translate a Wikipedia article from another language, you have to give credit to the original. This is not optional, it is a requirement, as explained here. You were made aware of this several months ago, by DGG, so the fact that you are still doing this is concerning. I'm not even sure that you understand the languages you translate from very well – you have added quite a few articles translated from Norwegian Wikipedia with weird language errors, looking almost like machine translations. See also my comment above about Draft:Vestsiden ungdomsskole.
As a matter of priority, please go through the drafts you have created by translating them from other Wikipedia versions, including any that have been accepted, and add the required credit as explained in WP:HOWTRANS.
You also need to read the feedback you get from new page reviewers more carefully. The edit histories of e.g. Draft:Mari Kanstad Johnsen and Draft:Vestsiden ungdomsskole show that each time those drafts were declined for lack of significant coverage in reliable and independent sources, you added one or two more sources more or less randomly, ignoring the "independent" requirement and not even paying attention to whether the source you added had anything to do with the place where you added it. Case in point: after Draft:Mari Kanstad Johnsen had been declined for the fifth time for a lack of independent and secondary sources, you added this source and resubmitted, even though it is not a secondary source. It was placed after the sentence "The latter publication won silver at the Årets vakreste bøker 2012 in the open class", but the source does not mention the publication (Blue Cabin), nor Årets vakreste bøker. Going back to the previous decline, which also requested independent and secondary sources and specifically asked you to format the references, you added this source after the sentence "In 2012, she illustrated the book Ballongjegeren by Anniken Bjørnes and the fanzine Blue Cabin." It is not a bad source in itself, but it does not mention Ballongjegeren, or Bjørnes, or Blue Cabin, and it was added as a bare URL.
A draft does not need to be perfectly polished to be acceptable, but there are minimum requirements for it to be accepted. Given the number of drafts you have created, you do need to start paying attention to these minimum requirements, especially when your drafts keep being declined for the same reasons. It is particularly unfortunate in the case of someone like Mari Kanstad Johnsen, who is almost certainly notable. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 07:54, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
"as Bonadea says, perhaps the most difficult problem in using articles from other WPs is their different approach to sourcing. Some other WPs just refer elsewhere to sources, such as to a page in a search engine or library catalog--we do not accept this, we require things to be written out in detail. We expect people to have actually seen the sources they use, not just copied their names. I'm not saying our way is necessarily better-- some of the encyclopedias doing it differently are as good or better than ours, such as the deWP. But for the enWP, it is necessary to match the way the enWP expects things to be done. DGG ( talk ) 10:25, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
