Recent edits to Kings' School

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Kings' School, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Zedrox (talk) 11:38, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Where did you get the Time ISSN for Fenethylline?

Hi there! You recently edited Fenethylline, adding a reference to Time magazine. The ISSN identifier you used, 0040-718X, is invalid (the real value is 0040-781X), but I see editors enter it on Wikipedia regularly. Do you know where you got that ISSN? Were you using a script, toolbar button, or other software tool to retrieve information for the reference you added? I'd like to track it down and figure out why that tool is adding an incorrect ISSN. Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:01, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi. I used the Citoid tool; the citation button found in the visual editor.LoudLizard (talk) 11:11, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
Perfect. I have reproduced this problem and reported a bug. – Jonesey95 (talk) 04:16, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

Bad Aibling rail accident

Re this edit. You replaced a reference for helicopters from Germany and Austria being used. The original was from De Telegraaf, which you replaced with the reference showing that the EUB had opened an investigation. That reference says nothing at all about helicopters. Please be more careful in future to ensure that references actually reference the text they are against. Mjroots (talk) 08:17, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Sorry about that! I was using the reference from the German Wikipedia for information about the helicopters LoudLizard (talk) (contribs) 11:43, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello. Can you take a look at some of the older version of Minnetrista and let me know what you think? I see you've tagged it for speedy deletion and based on the current state I can't say I disagree, but a series of editors over the last few days has been taking the overall tone and making it seem much more like an advert to me. Do you think if this material is removed the article could be kept? I have already reverted three times trying to get the old version back but the new editors do not seem to get the hint. Cheers. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 15:49, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

I'll have a look at the older version, thanks. LoudLizard (📞 | contribs) 15:52, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the attention. take care. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 15:53, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
@H.dryad: I see that the version at 02:37, 27 January 2016‎ by Tassedeth is much better, if lacking in sources. Would you be happy to revert to that revision? LoudLizard (📞 | contribs) 15:55, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
I think that should be fine, BTW, I just did a scan using Earwig's copyvio detector and it slates the current article at a 70.7% likelihood of copyvio from http://www.minnetrista.net/about-minnetrista/ - I am thinking that the recent additions are probably copy and paste from that website. I am pretty sure this is unacceptable. Thanks for your assistance in this. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 15:58, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I am sure the content is copy-pasted. I have warned the user again about adding promotional material and will keep an eye on the article for further developments. Thanks for your help, too! :)
OK, take care! Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 16:05, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Unsourced changes

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Badacsonytomaj, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you.
Please note that Rumanian Wiki, like every other Wiki, is not a reliable source.
If they have cited a source, you need to check it is reliable and cite it as your source for the information - Thanks - Arjayay (talk) 18:53, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

@Arjayay: Thanks for letting me know. I am actually trying to find the original source was at the moment. Also, none of the content on that page is sourced, so perhaps we should delete the rest of the unsourced content? LoudLizard (📞 | contribs | ) 20:45, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Cornell School #3?

I started wondering if there might be any others. Yes, there was a former one-room schoolhouse named the Cornell School in Ohio.

http://oneroomschoolhousecenter.weebly.com/cornell-school.html

So what to do about that? It's not a "District" but it was a "Cornell School". -- DMahalko (talk) 18:31, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

@DMahalko: Hi, I wouldn't worry about that on the disambiguation page, and definitely not in the hatnote, since it is an individual school, rather than a school district, unless you think it is particularly confusing/ambiguous. LoudLizard (📞 | contribs | ) 18:34, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

How odd!

It says here that you used Twinkle to notify this person, but Twinkle didn't tag the article, it seems, so I did it for you. Odd. Eman235/talk 02:14, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

References

Hello,
What do I have to do if I am writing an article that has no reference to link to? If I am writing information that I got directly from the person/source? Should I mark it in any other way not to get deleted?

And why did a "photo credit" get deleted in the infox? That should really count as a reference, right?

I´m new here, so sorry if these are stupid questions. :)

/AceWi — Preceding unsigned comment added by AceWi (talkcontribs) 13:28, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

@AceWi:Hi. Generally, for content to be "encyclopedic" (i.e. notable enough to be published on Wikipedia), it needs to be verifiable. Information that cites no reliable sources may be deleted by other users - there is no way to stop this unless you are planning on adding a citation to a reliable source. If you are planning on adding citations later, you may use the "hang on" and "new page" templates - these tell other editors that you are still working on the article and ask them not to propose deletion. Please have a read of Wikipedia:Verifiability, which is Wikipedia's policy on using reliable sources. In terms of writing information that is directly from a person, Wikipedia actually doesn't allow original research, as per Wikipedia:No_original_research In order for material to be considered notable and verifiable, it needs to have reliable, published sources that other editors can verify to check the accuracy of the information.
Hope that helps. If you need any help, please reply here, visit the Teahouse (a place where experienced editors help new editors, like yourself) or ask for help on the live chat. LoudLizard (📞 | contribs | ) 15:28, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Palacios Municipal Airport

Hi, thanks for adding the disambig note on the texas airport. I've moved Palacios Airport to Palacios Airport, Honduras, then changed the note on the texas page. You might wish to delete the note now that the Honduras airport is renamed.Cptmrmcmillan (talk) 23:50, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the ping

I attempted to reply to Procureur2014 pointing out a few examples of unsourced namedropping; phrases given in a POV, instead of encyclopedic phrasing; and apparent whitewashing of the subject's more negative actions. Considering Procureur2014 accused me of vandalism for adding a tag about the article needing improvement, I'm not optimistic. Edward321 (talk) 00:39, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

No worries, thanks for your reply. LoudLizard (talk) 15:17, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

You're welcome! Good to see more young editors (like myself) around. Happy editing. --Ches (talk) 19:49, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

@Chesnaught555:Indeed it is! :) LoudLizard (talk) 19:50, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
It simply goes to show that not all of us fall into the stereotype of "schoolkid vandal". There are plenty of mature young editors around. I wish you the best of luck with your AS levels - I'm currently studying for my GCSEs (better wording: I should be studying for my GCSEs, but I am on Wikipedia right now). --Ches (talk) 19:52, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Absolutely, such stereotyping frustrates me too. Thanks, good luck to you too! LoudLizard (talk) 19:55, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
I just noticed the "vandalism level" went to very high, I've never seen it that bad. LoudLizard (talk) 19:57, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Me neither. Vandalism tends to increase around the 17:00-20:00 GMT time - that is when most American students are in school. A lot of vandals tend to be middle or high school students, which is why the frustrating stereotype exists. --Ches (talk) 19:59, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I have noticed that as well. It seems like a vastly disproportionate amount of vandalism originates from schools/colleges etc. as well. Grr! LoudLizard (talk) 20:01, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
It does, and it is a shame. There are, however, plenty of adult vandals, which goes to show age and maturity do not correlate! --Ches (talk) 20:07, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
