Rancho Bernardo High School

[edit]

(question copied from Village Pump)

The article about RBHS presents a very negative image of what is really a very good school. To provide a better image of what the school is, I have put a new version of the article on its talk page, seeing as the article is semi-protected and I am a new user. Could an established user replace the old version with the new (it adds a section about the band and one about the Academic League) and then remove the copy that is on the talk page? Lucas Brown 42 (talk) 03:30, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When your account is 4 days old, and you have made more than 10 edits (latter already accomplished) you will be able to edit the page. I have never seen a talk page used for this purpose, and technically anything put there should be kept forever (but in this case an exception should be made). It would have been better to create a sandbox or sub-page of your own account, and point to that from the talk page. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 10:21, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
More: I did not want to update the article for you, because these changes should be identified as your own work. I have created a new page for you, called User:Lucas Brown 42/Rancho Bernardo High School and copied your updated article. I also removed it from the real article's talk page. I did not copy the last few lines which are "category" tags, since these will categorize the talk or temporary page, which should not be done (unless you're trying to test the tags, in which case you can put them in briefly to see how they affect other WP pages.) When you are ready and able to update the real article, I recommend replacing only those paragraphs you are adding or changing, and not copy the entire article, because you could over-write someone else's changes. Check the history of the file to see what other edits have been made since you did your copying. When you're finished with this temporary page, you can blank it: just remove everything from the edit box. (I sometimes leave a message behind, "This page blanked", because there are "robot" tools checking for blank pages, and the blanking might get reverted by a confused bot.) If there is anything I can help you with, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 10:45, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you have been removing some references from Sarah Palin. Could I ask you to explain the reason for doing so either at Talk:Sarah Palin (the discussion page) or in your edit summaries as the reason for their removal is unclear to an uninvolved editor such as myself. Thanks. CIreland (talk) 00:43, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Happy number

[edit]

Your edit comment for your change to Happy number says that you reference the addition, but I don't see a reference. Can you provide a reference? Bubba73 (talk), 18:15, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please read wp:OR and WP:RS. (1) Information has to be from a Reliable Source. Usually this means printed, but it can be an authortative website. (2) If you did this yourself, it is Original Research and is not allowed. Bubba73 (talk), 02:39, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

vandalism

[edit]

Actually, if you'd look at the history of your userpage a little closer, the vandalism wasn't done by Wronkiew; his October 28 edit was actually removing vandalism here. Looks like the vandalism in question was done by 72.130.147.92 on December 2 here. -- Why Not A Duck 04:34, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AIV request declined

[edit]

Your request to have Wronkiew (talk · contribs) blocked for vandalism has been declined. While your report to WP:AIV failed to meet any of the three criteria listed at the top of that page, I feel obligated to point out that the vandalism to your user page was performed by 76.93.137.193 (talk · contribs), with Wronkiew reverting the vandalism 29 minutes later [1]. Yes, that is right! Even though Wronkiew removed the vandalism from your user page a mere 29 minutes after it happened, 51 days later you requested that your savior be blocked for vandalism! --Kralizec!
