Union Cane

[edit]

You might try working on your article at Draft:Union Cane. This is a draft area where you can work on it without worrying about things like reliable sourcing, at least not immediately. When you are happy with your draft and feel it will pass muster, you can submit it to AfC (Articles for Creation), and a reviewer will take a look. If everything is good, they will move it live for you. If there's some issues, they will point them out so you can keep improving. -- ferret (talk) 14:03, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Henry Akinwande / titles box

[edit]

Greetings. Just some feedback on this edit at Henry Akinwande, regarding the definition of regional and minor titles. In MOS:BOXING, which has been in place since early 2016, the section on titles succession boxes lists ABC sub-world titles such as International and Inter-Continental under the Regional boxing titles section, whilst sub-ABC non-regional titles such as IBO and WBU are listed under Minor world boxing titles.

It's been that way since the start of the MOS, and I fail to see how the WBC International or WBO Inter-Continental titles are not regional titles, as even the names themselves suggest they are—"International" and "Inter-Continental" being 'regions' of 'world level'.. or something. Hope that makes sense and we can discuss it. A warm welcome onboard nonetheless! Mac Dreamstate (talk) 17:25, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Luis Ortiz.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Luis Ortiz.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 13:56, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Rostislav Plechko, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. AntiVan (talk) 12:39, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Anthony Joshua.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on File:James "Clubber" Lang.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Hello, I'm Shadowowl. I noticed that in this edit to Draft:Union Cane, you removed all the content without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the page's content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Lutontownfc", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it implies you work for/on behalf of Luton Town F.C.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:33, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Signing your talk page posts

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:26, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Lutontownfc. I've noticed from this edit and this edit that you seem to be having some trouble signing your talk page posts. The easiest way to sign a post is to add four tilde to the end of the post. This will add your user name and a time stamp to the post. Also, I'm not sure why you are adding a link to RHaworth's contributions to your signature, but you probably should stop doing that because it's misleading. If you want to customize your signature to add a link to Special:Contributions/Lutontownfc, you should follow the instructions in WP:CUSTOMSIG. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:36, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Username block

[edit]
Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Lutontownfc, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

@Just Chilling:Okay, then. I'll change my username to: Doctorwho1. Lutontownfc (talk) 17:45, 30 July 2017 (GMT)

Blocked as a sockpuppet

JustInTime1 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I have absolutely no idea WHAT you are talking about! I have never heard of this Toby The Pug you speak of. I AM NOT A "SOCK PUPPET"! What the heck is a sock puppet, anyway?! I want you to remove this block immediately, and I don't want this to happen again. I have done nothing wrong! I've just made some mistakes in my editing, but this is my first wikipedia account. PLEASE remove the block!

Decline reason:

Seems pretty obvious that you're the same user based on your contributions and this "vote" at the AFD where you registered your vote as "TobyDaPug." You "have never heard of this Toby The Pug" yet you're signing posts as him and speaking in the 3rd person? only (talk) 10:32, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{Unblock|Okay, I admit I knew a little about Toby The Pug. See, my younger brother made a bunch of accounts which he vandalised wikipedia with. I tried to stop him, but he just wouldn't listen. When I was trying to prevent Union Cane from being deleted, I asked my younger brother to make an account and agree with my point. But of course, he didn't listen. He made the comment with MY account, but withoutMY permission. After he published the comment, I realised what he'd done and reverted it immediately. I was hoping everyone would put this small incident behind them, but I was wrong, VERY wrong. Please don't punish me for not telling you the full truth. I was just trying to put it behind me and deny it ever happened. Well, that was a big mistake. I just want my account back. And about the "flagrant vandalism" Mac Dreamstate spoke of, they were just mistakes I made. See, this os my first account, and I'm still getting used to things. I promise that I'll try to avoid making incorrect edits, but I don't know everything, and neither do you. Also, about my brother's vandalism; I promise I'll stop him from doing that again, so you don't have to worry about my brother's accounts returning if you (hopefully) lift my ban. I just want my account back.

If you remove information from your previously declined unblock statement again, I will revoke your talk page access. Request reason:

Deleting that bit of information was proving my point. I didn't know it would be taken so seriously. And another thing, you should believe me now because I swear on my life. I swear on my life as a Catholic. I swear on God. I swear on the existence of every human being (and that includes you, robotic-like person). Even if you don't believe in the Catholic God, you should believe me. I don't know what has become of this world. God never intended on humans fighting among themselves and not believing someone's word. And I give you my WORD. This is not intended on being a threat, but if you continue to Sin and punish an innocent man, I pray that you burn in hell, and be tortured eternally by Satan himself. If you decide to do a good deed, I promise you will be rewarded in heaven (no offence if you're not Catholic. I'm just saying that you should believe me). So PLEASE remove the ban. My brother wasn't aware of his actions, and neither was I. Please give me a second chance. If I make an incorrect edit, don't punish me and make me feel like an idiot by banning me. I will do my best to become a respected contributor on wikipedia. Thank you (in advance), and feel free to act less robotic my good man. You seem to lack faith and pity. I hope that lifting this ban will lead to you becoming a good person. May God bless you. JustInTime1 (talk) 19:10, 29 August 2017 (MYT)

Decline reason:

You've admitted your account was compromised by your little brother. We never unblock compromised accounts. In addition, praying that we burn in hell and be tortured eternally is categorically inappropriate here. You are either a troll or profoundly lack the necessary maturity to be trusted here. Either way, we aren't going to unblock you. I have revoked your talk page access to stop you wasting any more of our time. Yamla (talk) 12:04, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Union Cane

[edit]

Hello, JustInTime1. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Union Cane".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Nikkimaria (talk) 13:55, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
