Edit summary
[edit]Steve block Talk 16:53, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. I know I made a lot of small edits without it; just a bit of burnout. I'm making lots of repetitive changes, as you might notice. I'll try to keep to the guidelines in the future.MJ the Prophet 19:05, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- You can just copy and paste a simple summary in through Ctrl-v or use the auto complete facility of your browser to do the same, I've used both. I know it's hard work but it does make it easier to evaluate edits when they have summaries; most vandals don't provide them and so it makes their edits easier to spot of the rest of us do. Take it easy though, don't burn yourself out, and have fun. See you around. Steve block Talk 20:04, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Template and edits
[edit]Hello. I notice you've been adding Template:Superheroboxneeded to articles. I'd recommend you not, anymore. For reasons which I have stated here, I'd recommend that template not be used in articles at all. If you'd like to add an SHB, I'd say "give it a shot". Otherwise, I'd leve articles like Protector (comics) and Goldstar (DC Comics) alone. In fact, I'd hope you could revert your additions of that template to all articles you've editted. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 19:34, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I see. Well, unfortunately, I don't know enough about the comics themselves to really add the actual SHBs. I saw this category as something to check on the Project Comics page, but noticed that the category had about 4 entries. So, I decided to make it a useful category. I've got over 250 entries of it now, so I'm a little disappointed to learn I need to revert all of those; it took me quite a while. Based on your comments, couldn't we just make a better template? I feel that the character box is certainly a good addition to any article on a character; adding an info box is part of the wikification process. Instead of abandoning what is currently useless, why not put in a little effort and make it useful? I'll hold off for now though. MJ the Prophet 19:44, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose we could. See the thread I pointed to in my first comment. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 19:56, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
I suggest you look at the SHB template page and add the boxes themselves instead of what you have been doing. You wouldn't even have to fill in the information, just getting the boxes in place would be a better way to improve the articles. CovenantD 00:06, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Just thought you'd like to know, l updated the SHB for the Amos Fortune (comics) with a picture. Merry Christmas, and dont let the wiki-users get you down. HungryJacks 21:27, 25 December 2006 (EST).
D&D wiki project consensus
[edit]A call to all members of the D&D wiki project. We are currently having a major dispute that needs to be settled by all members of the D&D wiki project. The dispute is as follows. 1. Should we put disambiguation tags on D&D articles preemptively or should we wait until there is an article conflict with some other Wikipedia article. Vote on preemptive or wait.
2. What should we label these tags? Example "child's play (module)", or "child's play (adventure)" and at this point we are taking all suggestions.
email me at Dm2ortiz@aol.com or post on the D&D wiki project talk page Dm2ortiz 13:39, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
