Linear algebra notation consistency

[edit]

I've been going around making matrix transpose notation consistent with that used in the transpose article. In particular, anything like ^T or ^\mathsf{T} gets replaced with ^\operatorname{T}. That means that instead of or , the convention is .

Additionally, I have been trying to make bold-facing of matrices consistent within articles. I have come across quite a few articles where a matrix is denoted as is one section but as in the next. I have been biasing towards whatever is most prominent on the page and what appears the earliest. I have been replacing all instances of with as the latter is used most frequently in significant linear algebra articles. However, if a Greek letter is used to represent a matrix (such as in Generalized least squares), I am inserting \boldsymbol to ensure it appears bold when other Latin-letter matrices are bolded.

Any feedback or thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.
