Hey. I was hoping I could get some input from you regarding an article I'm bringing up to featured status, since you're dedicated to that sort of thing. The article is Kroger Babb, and it's pretty much as full as it's going to get information-wise, but I'm struggling with a few things: 1) It hasn't gotten much of a proofread from anyone, and I don't trust my own eyes sometimes. 2) Per the peer review, I tried to expand the info on the movie near the top, but it doesn't feel right, but I'm not sure if it's me being overly critical of myself. 3) Any pointers on how to clean up the bottom portion? This is bizarre, MD. I rarely visit RfA these days (very worthy I'm sure, but terribly boring), but happened to pop by at a time when your nomination was new. Now, after receipt of your sad but delightfully handwritten message, I returned and saw that people had been wittering away about the awfulness of something called "BULL", of which I'd never previously heard. I took a look at it a couple of minutes ago. I can't say I completely agree with it, but it makes an excellent point in a pithy way. I'm sorry I didn't come to the defense of the BULL page a few days earlier. (Incidentally, I'd easily fail the BULL criteria: not their fault, but mine.) The Daniel Nolan page that was deleted by yourself i think may hhave been wrongly dleted and i am unsure on how to either retrieve the information on the page or to challenge the dleteion. i was in the process of cleaning up articles such as this one and was going to include this article in a wikiproject related to british crime. I was wondering firstly if it is ok to restart the page and request a retieival of the information of the text. Secondly to ask why such few opinions were sort before deletion of the page occured and finally to request that no more pages related to britisgh murdered children be deleted for the time being as i am currently working on them. i have just recently moved house so have had sporadic and low internet access so was unable to challenge the deletion. plese reply to my talk page thanks --Lucy-marie 00:26, 14 October 2006 (UTC).

I'm frustrated with the total disregard for the actual content of this article. My first drafts lacked citations and was admittedly unverifiable like original research. I noted this and the fact that complete supporting citations were added to the article but to no avail.
The AfD read like a debate of opinions on the subject of a web operating system, with not one negative comment in transparent and constructive words on the article about the web operating system.
Please see for example the note in support in the AfD from User:Uncle_G.
This article does a good job at presenting its subject with copious referances to published work in its field.
Please read the article, and implement Wikipedia Policies. In particular, the AfD discussion is not a vote.
That's probably not the most tactful way of putting things, and not one that is the best way to achieve the desired result, given that the most natural reaction would be a defensive one. Perhaps I can help to mediate here. JohnPritchard appears to be frustrated that xe made extensive changes to the article at the tail end of the AFD discussion, which addressed some points brought up at the start of the discussion, such as the concern expressed by Vectro that the article had no references. Would the option of running the article through AFD again be acceptable to you? Or perhaps (and probably better) moving the article to JohnPritchard's user space to allow xem to do further work towards making a fully sourced, no-original-research, article? Yes, I agree that I was not completely tactful. So I said I was frustrated. I need a copy of the original last version, it had extensive references and information I need to be able to use -- perhaps into User:JohnPritchard/Web_operating_system_draft. We happen to be two different people, so the fact that they're "inconsistent" should not surprise anyone. However, I don't think Mailer could have closed that one otherwise (though as you say, he may not have wished to) - the inconsistency between the AfDs is the problem, not the inconsistency between Mailer and myself. The article may have the same problems as the one I deleted, but there wasn't a coherent enough case in the AfD to justify deletion, unlike in the one I closed. I see no reason to alter either of our closes - rather the Entertainment Centre might merit relisting at some point, with a more detailed nomination and more participation from editors outside the area the mall serves who can form a genuinely dispassionate opinion on whether the subject meets WP:CORP. --Sam Blanning(talk) 18:10, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

What I wanted to do was stop these pages from being "categorized" (by inserting ":" after the wiki tagging "[[") and just be linked instead.
The problem seems two-fold:
Is it permissable for regular editors to change an archived discussion for this kind of purpose?
If so, where is the category code to be found ? (I test edited, to see the structure, and could not find it in either page!)
I suspect this has something to with the way the articles are stored?
BTW, why was it permissable for someone to paste in a whole article into a disscusion? (I'm assuming that's how the "Catgory:Bibliography" got there.)

I know Admins are overtaxed by work (I've read quite a few admin talk pages!) but can I also prevail upon you to help me better understand things by answering the questions above also? As a relative newbie I'm trying to do a good job here and need to know what I can/cannot and should/should not do (even though I've probably read more of the documentation than most--several, many times!--I'm not always sure).

You confirmed deletion of the page for the band 4-4-1 today. The deletion was instigated by someone clearly hostile to Christian music (The Crying Orc) and put forth the reason as “notability” and using Wikipedia as a “vanity page.”
Jayron noted discrepencies, which may be from confusing 4-4-1 with another group somewhere in the Midwest with a similar name (an issue we will need to address.)
The 4-4-1 on this page was a band formed in Southern California in the early 80s. 4-4-1 had an important role in early Christian Alternative/New Wave music which included having a number one single on arguably the most significant CCM radio station in the country at the time, KYMS and a #2 single on the national Contemporary Christian Music magazine rock charts in 1985 (the song Mourning Into Dancing). Contemporaries of this band include The Choir, Undercover, Altar Boys, 77s, Adam Again and Daniel Amos, all of which have (valid) Wikipedia entries.
One reason it may be a little difficult to find references to the band is that most of the band's activities were pre-web. Just because an entity cannot be readily found on the web doesn't mean it is not worthy of inclusion.
The band released three records, all listed appropriately on the article. Two were released on Blue Collar Records (an indie Christian label now defunct), one on Broken Records. Both were nationally distributed by Lexicon and Word, respectively. All told, the band sold about 30,000 records. These records were, until recently, out of print. Again, not sufficient cause to delete.
I did not intend for the Wikipedia article to "serve as a surrogate website" as Amatulic noted. 4-4-1 was a part of a musical movement, however small (I didn't know size or fame have become such drivers for Wikipedia inclusion) and the band's mark on that genre cannot be denied. When people talk about the other bands listed above, it would be a disservice to the history of the genre to not include 4-4-1's exploits, as the band played with all those groups at various venues.
This is not a band who made the rounds at “coffee houses” or local pubs. 4-4-1 played over a dozen times at the birthplace of Contemporary Christian Music, Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa to capacity (1500 seats) crowds, performed with Phil Keaggy at the Anaheim Convention Center, the Cornerstone music festival in Chicago and the Icthus festival outside Lexington, Kentucky, and a half dozen performances at Knott’s Berry Farm, among others. All of these venues at attendance in excess of 1,000 people.
If historical relevance isn't enough, the band has reformed of late and has performed significant concerts including the Broken Records reunion concert (with Undercover, The Choir, Altar Boys and Crumbacher) and at one of the largest Christian music festivals in the country, Spirit West Coast in May of 2006.
Popular contemporary acts such as Joy Electric count 4-4-1 as a major influence.
The band is currently composing new material and talking with the major Christian festivals about 2007 dates.
Removing the 4-4-1 page calls into question every page of the bands I have just listed, and the converse compels one to the conclusion that this article should be reinstated.

As I do not seem to have access to the deleted article, I cannot respond, point by point, to items in the article. I can verify the band existed/does exist, produced three records with national distribution, was in national press, and has performed at significant concert venues.
