Happy new year!

A very happy new year to you! TheOriginalSoni (talk) 21:14, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

I am really sorry, but I posted my religion on my user page. As you can see, we Muslims have Islamic New Year, matching 14 November 2012 on Gregorian Calendar. Today, our calendar dated 18 Ṣafar 1434. But since yourself is celebrating the new year, I wish you a better year ahead.
Note that not all Muslim is as strict as me, they may still celebrate the Gregorian Calendar's New Year etc., but this is matter of personal choice.
Sorry,
----
Malikussaid (talk) 21:25, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
My goodness! Please stop!! Please!!! You are going to torture me by saying Sorry for no and useless reasons!!!
Its fine if you dont follow the Gregorian New year. Everyone has a personal choice of belief. Even I exercise it when I choose to celebrate New Year and Christmas, despite being a Hindu
Question- Is English your second/third language? You seem to be somewhat less than affluent in it?
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 21:40, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
Did I... torture you? I looked up the definition of torture and I cannot found doing anything related to it. Do you mean mock or annoy?
Answer: It's third. I learn Indonesian first since I was born (mother tongue/native language), then I learn Arabic to recite Holy Qur'an, next I learn English on Elementary School (my TOEFL is 586 anyway), then I learn Makassarese from my grandparents when having 4-month long holiday after graduating Elementary School. I learn Japanese in Middle School (and still learning it currently in College).
Shall I reduce my English Babel rating? I think 580 is average for native speaker?
----
Malikussaid (talk) 21:48, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
That was exaggeration. Torture means to cause great harm to someone, usually mentally or physically. I used it funnily to say that I am finding it awkward that you are apologizing for nearly everything.
Ohk. That explains a lot about your speaking skills. And I have no idea what a Babel rating is; So feel free to choose whatever rating you desire.
And you seriously speak FIVE languages? Wow! I know just two, and can barely get two more. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 22:06, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
Okay.
I really speak five languages (EN), as "Saya benar-benar bicara 5 bahasa" (ID), "Nakke kulle-mmicara lima-m baasa" (MAK), "私が5言語を話します" (JP), but I cannot translate the sentence into Arabic, since I learn Arabic to recite Holy Qur'an, not for conversation.
Warning: It is complex to transliterate Makassarese into latin, as Arabic has its own script, Japanese has kana and kanji, Makassarese has Lontara' to write it. So my words here is approximation and care should be taken for not considering it seriously for any project.

Wow. Simply wow. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 22:40, 31 December 2012 (UTC)]
I accept that as compliment.

To Malikussaid, just so you know what happened - The IP pretended to be from the Indonesian ISP police (or something like that) and askedyou to stop all your activities becuase they were a threat to national security. He then added your address and email id and said he would file a chargesheet against you in 7 days if you did not comply. This is exactly the sort of attacks I am talking of, that could happen if you post personal information online. The IP has been blocked and the content removed, so nobody can see it now. So you are completely safe as of now. [Unless someone now starts mailing you such hoaxes, in which case there is litle we can do to help.] TheOriginalSoni (talk) 08:30, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

May I see the deleted edit? Shall I file a request for undeletion, or may I ask the authoritative admin to email the copy of the edit to my e-mail adress?
The "Cease Anti-National Activites Immediately Or Face Legal Action" edit summary that e-mailed to my e-mail address doesn't quite inform me about what did the user contribute.

The current situation is:

  • I have contacted the ISP of the edit and the ISP confirms the IP belongs to residential address (not "Indonesian ISP Police")
  • I have received no issue from Indonesian Police, even when I made my Driver's License (which necessitate a background check)
  • There has been no further contact from the originating IP or any parties related to it

I consider this as a hoax. Shall I do something anymore? I also request a verbatim copy the edit, if I am allowed to access it.

Thank you for the suggestions.

--Malikussaid (talk) 18:36, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

It looks like the threat was just a person taking advantage of the fact that you had personal information available. I don't think you need to take further action, as the IP is was blocked from editing and has not edited since. Regarding seeing the suppressed edits, you should contact an oversighter and see what their opinion is on the matter. GorillaWarfare (talk) 19:02, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Problems donating

I opened this page :

https://donate.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:FundraiserLandingPage&country=ID&uselang=en

I click the Debit/Credit card button, choose Visa, input my debit card number, and the transaction is always rejected. I could confirm I have sufficient fund by factor of 10. If needed I could scan for the OTRS all of my 3 debit cards (I have a silver, gold, and platinum debit from different banks, all rejected).

Thank you for the assistance.

Malikussaid (talk) 18:36, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Please email donate@wikimedia.org and ask your questions there. GorillaWarfare (talk) 19:04, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
I'll send the email ASAP. Thank you. Malikussaid (talk) 19:12, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

What to do next?

I have tried the basic of wiki markup on my user page and think I'm ready to enter the main Wikipedia namespace. After researching, I think I would do job that simple but boring, such as incorporating edit to semi protected page. Is there a simple way to lookup for edit requests?

I think I also would like to create stubs for article of significance. Maybe by searching on search engine and combining the facts into a short, 3-5 paragraph entry with references. Is there a simple way to lookup for article creation requests? (About this, I remember I have requested the TenManga article many years ago).

Thank you for the assistance.

Malikussaid (talk) 18:36, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

You can read Wikipedia:Requested edits#Responding to requests, which has information about responding to requests for edit on semi-protected pages. Be sure that the edits are acceptable before you add them. You can look at a list of requested articles. The list is massive, so you should have no trouble finding an interesting topic there. Do keep in mind, however, that the article suggestions on that list are not checked for notability or anything; just because an article is on that list does not necessarily mean it should be added to Wikipedia. GorillaWarfare (talk) 19:06, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Hmm... The notability guide is complex enough to warrant weeks of analysis (by myself). Anyway, thank you for the lead. Malikussaid (talk) 19:12, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
