Welcome to Wikipedia, Mark K Adams!
I noticed your contribution to Pulp Fiction; your needed revision spurred me to copy-edit the same sentence. Thank you.
I am Gareth Griffith-Jones and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions feel free to leave me a message on my talk page.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian –

Thank you for the note. One small thing, you forgot to sign & date using the four tildes. A 'bot did it for you this time.
All the best! –

Thanks again, Gareth Griffith-Jones, but I did in fact type the four tildes. Perhaps I missed something? My username & date stamp appears, but it is not linked. What am I doing wrong? Mark K Adams 22:32, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that.
Go to Preferences you'll find it at the top of this talk page and scroll right down to Signature. The box should be checked. Is it?  –
 – Gareth Griffith-Jones |The Welsh Buzzard| 22:51, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it is checked, with the plain text "Mark K Adams" in the signature box above. Should I uncheck it? Or what do I need to do; add my bracketed username instead? Mark K Adams 23:05, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
When I started I did not go near the editing box and my signature appeared as if by magic. Try editing your's like this:
[[User:Mark K Adams|Mark K Adams]] ([[User talk:Mark K Adams|talk]])
Should produce this: Mark K Adams (talk) 23:28, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers! –

Seems to be working now; thanks for your help. I'm using "Show preview" more now, before saving.

Glad to have been able to help. talk is in black here on your page, but will be in blue (wikilink) elsewhere. Yes, I nearly always click on Preview or Changes before hitting the Save page. It is actually quicker in the long run. Don't hesitate in asking me again if you need advice or assistance –

Mexican Standoff

[edit]

Gareth Griffith-Jones, User Cortador is insistent on this whole Mexican standoff/Pulp Fiction issue, and doesn't seem to understand the logic that has been offered. I'm new at this in Wikipedia; what's the next step to resolving the conflict? – Mark K Adams (talk) 16:54, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise for not replying earlier, but have been out for several hours.
I suggest you move the discussion here so that more (involved) editors see it — or I will if you prefer — let me know here. Regards –
