Biomatrica

[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I must apologize for the quite unhelpful response you received by the AfC reviewer. The article is not an essay. However, it does need some improvements, for it is a great deal too much like a press release. I work a great deal with this type of article. In my opinion, you did what I consider a very good job of it, compared to most such material that gets submitted. It's close, but not quite in our style. You might want to consider dividing up the history of the company from the discussion of its products . It's a little hard to follow the way it is, and doesn't put theproper emphasis on the important parts for an encyclopedia, which is what the company produces.

There really is too extensive a background. The article should be about what the company actually does, not about why the problems solved by its products are important. (Nor the train of though by which the founders came to develop them) and the article should be based primarily upon true secondary sources, not interviews with the founder.

Include only material that would be of interest to a general reader coming across the mention of the company and wanting the sort of information that would be found in an encyclopedia. Do not include material that would be of interest only to prospective clients --that sort of content is considered promotional. When writing with a conflict of interest or as a paid press agent, you are automatically thinking in terms of what the subject wishes to communicate to the public, but an uninvolved person will think in terms of what the public might wish to know. And keep in mind that the goal of an encyclopedia is to say things in a concise very plain manner, which is not the style of press releases or web sites, which are usually more expansive.

Just go and fix it. And then let me know on my talk page, and I'll take another look. I don't want to approve it quite yet. DGG ( talk ) 22:04, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Biomatrica company logo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Biomatrica company logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Mark Oberlin/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. j⚛e deckertalk 18:59, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
