Shared use

[edit]

Hi. Regarding your post at the Teahouse:

  • Please now discuss the issue regarding the photograph at Talk:Chris Adams (general)#Photograph, where I have started a new section about it.
  • Marchjuly has raised the question of shared use regarding your username, since your question was written in the first persion of Chris Adams. If you are Chris Adams, this could be misleading and you may want to request a change of username. If you are Mary A. Adams, presumably a relative of Chris Adams, you should declare that COI as noted at WP:COI and not claim to be Chris Adams. Though I have no doubt as to your motives, it just avoids confusion. If both of you are using the one account, you should not. Simply create another account for Chris Adams if needed (to avoid shared use).
  • When starting a new section, you are given a one-line high "Subject/headline" box in which to place a concise (just a few words) summary of your post, followed by a large edit box in which to put your complete question/discussion.
  • Please sign your messages on discussion (talk) pages by adding a space and four tildes to the end of the last line of your message, like this:
This is the last line of the message. ~~~~
The four tildes will be automatically converted to a signature that contains your linked username and a timestamp, which helps readers understand who said what. (Note that, at the Teahouse, this signature is auto-filled in for you in the edit box so you don't have to, but it is necessary when editing an existing discussion section or adding one to other discussion pages.)

I hope this helps. Thanks! —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 00:06, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
