User talk:Mattopia
I unequivocoably and irrevocably revoke all rights to Wikipedia or any affiliated or other third party to any content contributed by myself using this account. I request that Wikipedia delete all content relating to my contributions. I at no time gave up or abandoned copyright to any works submitted to Wikipedia; all such works were contributed under an understanding of good will which has since been broken.
- Actually you did abandon any right. Whenever you clicked "save" you saw and accepted this: "You irrevocably agree to release your contributions under the terms of the GFDL". BMW(drive) 22:14, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- Not correct. Mattopia has not "abandoned any rights". He has, however, granted a irrevocable license for people to use his work under the terms of the GFDL. Other rights are unaffected, as e.g. his right to relicense his work under other licenses, or his right to be recognized as the author. Of course, the distinction is mostly academic in this case, but it is quite significant in principle. --Stephan Schulz (talk) 23:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- I was shortening it for simplicity. Shorter form: you agree to all your edits being released to GDFL, when you click SAVE, which cannot be singlehandedly revoked. BMW(drive) 23:10, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Wikipedia:Deletion policy has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. RE: whatever you're talking about.
[edit]I'm not a bot. First off, you removed other content. That's against policy. Secondly, I believe you should take a look at the policy on ownership of articles/materials on Wikipedia. You do not own anything you submit. It becomes property of Wikipedia. Knippschild (talk) 21:37, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
The recent edit you made to Charge transfer insulators constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Tohd8BohaithuGh1 (talk) 21:43, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Mott insulator. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Tohd8BohaithuGh1 (talk) 21:43, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
I am not blocking you at all. Those are real people that also feel you are breaking policy. Like I said. You retain no right or ownership over material you submit. Knippschild (talk) 21:57, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 21:48, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Atomic orbital model. Tohd8BohaithuGh1 (talk) 21:49, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Hey Mattopia, I was just wondering what caused you to suddenly decide you no longer want your contributions on Wikipedia? As others have explained, the GFDL is not revocable so you can't just remove the content and images (imagine if people were allowed to revoke such a license, how chaotic and useless Wikipedia would be), but I couldn't find any recent dispute in your contributions and I was wondering if there was some incident that caused you to get so upset? If it is something we might be able to help you with, either with information or assistance resolving a dispute, then you can post here and explain what exactly the problem is. But please understand that this material is not going to be removed as you voluntarily agreed to license it under the GFDL. All the best, Sarah 23:23, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- I have no idea how this works. Can you see my reply? Apparently writing messages on someone else's talk page is considered vandalism and gets you banned.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattopia (talk • contribs)
- You were blocked for threatening legal action for maintaining copies of your licensed works. --Golbez (talk) 16:34, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- Just a piece of advice, If you retract your legal threat as the block notice and WP:NLT says ("Users who make legal threats will typically be blocked from editing indefinitely while legal threats are outstanding."), there is a good chance you will be unblocked, an apology for being rash would also go along way, but is your choice. «l| Ψrometheăn ™|l» (talk) 02:46, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- As Golbez says, you were blocked for your legal threats, and you were very close to being blocked for your pointy and disruptive edits to articles, but you certainly were not blocked for posting to someone's talk page. But frankly, after the socking, copyios and disruption, we're way passed the point of a simple legal threats block now and it will take a lot more than a retraction of the legal threats to get you unblocked (if you even want to be unblocked). I would still like to know what lead you to suddenly do all this and if there is something we can do to help you. Sarah 06:35, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks but nah, I don't want to email him. I don't really want to go offsite unless there's privacy concerns. If there's something that's suddenly upset him that the community can try to resolve, he can either post about it here or write to OTRS and post here and I will then go and find his email. Sarah 11:31, 22 October 2008 (UTC) PS I removed that email address so it doesn't get picked up by spam bots. Sarah 11:31, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
