Hi MelPav, I see that you have selected The Knickerbocker to work on for EST 495. That's great, and I hope it will prove to be an interesting and fruitful topic. When you are ready, a few things that you might consider doing: i) Assess the present quality and content of the article and post that assessment on the article's talk page. What are its strengths and weaknesses? What further developments/ improvements would be helpful in strengthening it? ii) Based on your assessment, you might also indicate on the talk page which aspects of article-improvement you intend to be working on in coming weeks. iii) You might solicit suggestions on the above from other editors... Kind regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:40, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Good start, thanks! Regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 15:29, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hi MelPav, Thanks for the message. Looking good! Where are you thinking of going from there? If you have not done so already, I would suggest using the sandbox subpage associated with your UserID. That can be accessed by others, as well. Later when you're ready, you could also post a note on the talk page for The Knickerbocker, inviting comments and suggestions from any editor who is tracking that article. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 00:58, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
- Very good. Now that you have a sandbox subpage you can remove the related material from your talk page. BTW, you'll see that I added an 'infobox' to The Knickerbocker. These are a regular feature of good articles in Wikipedia. Feel free to add to the infobox as you think appropriate. Happy editing! DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 09:16, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
- P.S. I added a parameter (your username) to the My sandbox template on your user page to direct other editors to your sandbox. No need to include your signature on your user page; you may remove that... Kind regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 09:39, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi MelPav, The article is looking very good! Along with your request for a peer review, I'd recommend working up a short summary of the changes & additions that you have made to the article since the beginning of the semester; also perhaps a list of suggestions for further article development. Thanks & Kind regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 19:01, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding the summary of your contributions to The Knickerbocker. Great job! Let me know if you plan further work on the article this semester; otherwise I will set the student course project flag to 'completed'. Kind regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 14:29, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you! I am quite satisfied with the progress I've made, and I don't believe I will have time to add anything else to the Knickerbocker this semester, but I will definitely continue contributing to Wikipedia in the future. This has been a great experience! 50.30.232.233 (talk) 18:08, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- On behalf of those who will benefit from your contributions, thank you! I will mark the project as ended. Kind regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 20:35, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Feedback on your additions
[edit]Hi MelPav. You asked for some feedback on The Knickerbocker, so ... excellent work. Your additions are well-cited, read well, and have significantly improved the article. Two points for potential improvement if you plan on further edits:
- Intro, or "lead" section: This should be re-written as a summary of the article. See WP:LEAD Right now, it may be turning away readers before they get to your new content. The list of former names could be incorporated with a ...
- "Name" section: you have 1/2 paragraphs on the name, combine this with the list of former names for a better organised article.
- "Impact" section begins with a long quote - this should be attributed to whoever made it in the text to avoid confusing readers.
- Otherwise, great work! The Interior (Talk) 20:34, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
A cup of tea for you!
