License tagging for File:Most Girls single.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Most Girls single.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:05, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

HQ Album Covers

[edit]

Hi, thank you for finding and uploading all of those high-resolution album covers. Unfortunately Wikipedia policy doesn't allow us to use high-rez versions of copyrighted album artwork in the articles (please see WP:NFCC). The general accepted size for album artwork is around 300x300, plus or minus a couple of hundred pixels in either dimension. I've gone ahead and reverted some of your recent changes. Let me know if you have any questions. Regards, ˉˉanetode╦╩ 02:22, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I see what you mean, also is there some way that the covers look "HQ" kinda like the Like a Virgin Cover?? proper size yet HQ --MindyHall (talk) 02:23, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you mean higher quality 300x300 images, then by all means. Many album art uploads are of poor quality scans or overcompressed images, those should be replaced. The standard tends to be JPG images, because of filesize, but PNG are acceptable alternatives. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 02:29, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and if you're looking around for album covers, http://www.albumartexchange.com is a great site for high quality versions. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 02:37, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

_Yes that's where i got the ones i uploaded but even when i try to compress them and make them smaller the upload is always over 500 :S --MindyHall (talk) 02:53, 10 July 2011 (UTC)--MindyHall (talk) 02:53, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image editor programs usually have different options for compression in the save menu. I don't know which one you're using (photoshop?), but if yours doesn't, there are free programs like http://www.irfanview.com/, GIMP, or http://optipng.sourceforge.net/ . ˉˉanetode╦╩ 03:05, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
LOL i'm not using any of those i'm making them smaller on Powerpoint (lame huh?) And are those programs free? are they compatible for mac?--MindyHall (talk) 03:07, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think GIMP may work if you try the instructions at http://gimp.lisanet.de/ -- otherwise you could get a download trial of Photoshop Basics. Find an image editor and spend some time experimenting and learning. Be careful not to upload redundant files on Wikipedia, or your page will fill up with warnings. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 04:46, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/ElPilotoDi for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:50, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You need to comment on the SPI case, we haven't blocked you, but you need to first explain in that page why you did all the socking and the uploads, and if you feel what you did is wrong. This is your last chance. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:11, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
