badgernet, do i need to know all that code that is see above on this page or can i just edit like i would any normal document? Morganacohen (talk) 14:37, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Most of the time you won't need to know Wiki code if you are making small changes. However, familiarizing yourself with some of the codes would be ideal. Using square brackets to [[enclose a word]] will create a wiki-link to the article on the subject. For example, if you were writing an article about trees, you may want to link to the leaf article. Small spelling and grammar corrections will not often require in-depth knowledge of the Wiki code. Hope this helps. xenocidic (talk) 14:43, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- I saw your comment regarding a picture of Michael Uslan -- It's actually encouraged for common folk like us to take pictures of people. If you indeed know Mr. Uslan, feel free to take a picture of him and upload it; if you need help uplodaing the image, just let me know. - The welcome template code used for the above is {{subst:W-basic}} and better described here, Best wishes, Good luck!

Articled nominated for speedy deletion
[edit]A tag has been placed on Morgan cohen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a user page from the main/article space.
If you can fix the redirect to point to a regular Wikipedia article rather than a user page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Michael Devore (talk) 00:26, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- You do have a Wikipedia page, at User:Morganacohen, where you can put in remarks about yourself including a brief bio and information that is related to your Wikipedia work. You can read more about what is and is not appropriate to put on your user page at Wikipedia:User page. User pages are intended to be separate from Wikipedia articles, and there are fairly strict rules about keeping the two types of pages separate. These rules include not redirecting a Wikipedia article to a user page.
- If you believe you are sufficiently notable in the world to be the subject of a Wikipedia article, you may also create a biography article separate from your user page. Doing this, however, is strongly discouraged because of the potential for conflict of interest and because people tend not to be a good judge as to whether they are significant, important or notable enough for their own Wikipedia article. For further information, please read Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. -- Michael Devore (talk) 23:32, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
