Proposed deletion of Canberra Gliding Club

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Canberra Gliding Club, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy nom of Victor Pan

[edit]

Just FYI, WP:CSD A7 only applies where an article doesn't indicate notability. This article does make a couple claims for notability, so A7 doesn't apply. The notability guidelines (ie. WP:ACADEMIC) aren't valid justifications for A7.

Plus, you nominated it only 6 minutes after creation. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 05:40, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah ok, I'll note that in future, thanksMozzie (talk) 05:41, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beacon College

[edit]

Another editor declined the speedy tag you added to Beacon College because schools are not speediable under A7. When you see a weak article, it is better to try to expand it by adding references than to tag it for deletion. I expanded the article a bit. You might want to take a look at the current version of the article and see if you can improve it. -- Eastmain (talk) 06:25, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Adad-nirari II has been reverted, as it appears to have removed content from the page without explanation. Hello, I found your user page after cleaning up the article that you created, safari suit. I've just deleted your user page because a redirect to an article from userspace is potentially confusing and makes it more difficult to communicate with you. Graham87 01:15, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Bhashaindia.com

[edit]

The article Bhashaindia.com has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced since 2006, no evidence of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Keφr 08:53, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Bhashaindia.com for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Bhashaindia.com is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bhashaindia.com until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Keφr 07:23, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Transportation in South Australia

[edit]

Thank you for expanding the Transportation in South Australia article you created and adding some sources. I've updated the tags in the article to reflect the update. However, the article needs more reliable sources and inline citations. A government website such as this will easily suffice as reliable. The article has progressed really nicely, and I hope you continue to improve it. Spirit of Eagle (talk) 04:00, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Overfishing

[edit]

Thank you for your additions to Overfishing. However you have provided no citations for material you added, such as in the sections on Aquaculture and Barriers to effective fishery management. Please read Verifiability, which is a core Wikipedia policy, and the guideline to what is a reliable source. Without appropriate citations your additions have little encyclopaedic value. They may give the appearance of original research and are liable to be removed. Regards. --Epipelagic (talk) 21:36, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for dropping by Epipelagic. I note that Wikipedia is a work in progress and isn't perfect. I will get try to get around to putting in links. These things take time. Cheers Mozzie (talk) 10:55, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In earlier years it was somewhat acceptable to add unattributed text providing other editors didn't challenge it's accuracy. Many articles contain legacy text that is not attributed but has not been reverted because it seems basically accurate. However, it is no longer really acceptable these days to add new material if it is uncited. You should find reliable sources now if you want your additions to stand. "These things take time" could be interpreted to mean "I can't be bothered" or "I don't know how". --Epipelagic (talk) 11:10, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Advice

I would advise you to no longer post on the editor's talk page and to also not make any reverts on the article. I have reported that editor for edit-warring and you should not be doing the same thing. This will likely settle down soon anyway.Bless sins (talk) 16:46, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

TPO

[edit]

It is related to earlier trolling.[1] I missed it when reveting this. We generally try not to feed the trolls, but I will leave it up to you. AIRcorn (talk) 09:59, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

AIRcorn WP:TPO states that Cautiously editing or removing another editor's comments is sometimes allowed, but normally you should stop if there is any objection. If you make anything more than minor changes it is good practice to leave a short explanatory note such as "[possible libel removed by Mozzie (talk) 10:17, 16 March 2019 (UTC)]". Some examples of appropriately editing others' comments:[reply]
Essentially you can only remove prohibited material or harmful posts. You should otherwise never touch another user's post apart from the limited exceptions in WP:TPO .This post might have been a bit off the wall and maybe trolling, but it may well be genuine, so it deserves the benefit of the doubt. If in doubt you can always collapse it using the collapse top and collapse bottom templates. You are getting a bit keen with deleting materials. On articles, try to assume good faith, and just read the guidelines on TPO to see what counts as prohibited material and harmful posts.Mozzie (talk) 10:17, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Did you look at the diffs? The case of Anders Breivik, although not himself Jewish, had been "groomed" or "handled" online by largely Jewish handlers, such as Pamela Geller`s Atlas Shrugs websites.. Off the wall is not a descriptor I would use. They then go on and copy WP:3RR directly to the article talk page and list two highly respected editors because they deleted the antisemitic rant. Good faith only goes so far. I am not sure you want to hitch your wagon to this, but that is your call.
As to getting too keen on deleting I disagree. Deleting information is just as important as adding, especially in articles like this that tend to bloat and attract all sorts of POV pushing and conspiracy theories. It is perfectly acceptable to remove in good faith edits even if they have been added in good faith. What it is important not to do is edit war and apart from the name, which I have now decided is not longer worth the effort, I have not done that. I am sorry you were upset about the removal of the Bangladesh cricket team info, but it was already in the article and it really didn't need to be presented twice. In hindsight I didn't need to say "stop adding this" in my edit summary so I apologise for that. Given the rapid number of edits on the article I can understand why you would have missed my first[2] much more reasonable edit summary. FWIW I think you are doing a fine job and we are both on the same page when it comes to making sure the article better so I hope we can work together.
I do have one request though. If you decide to keep the section in there can you add back this. It is needed to give some contrext as to why I removed the section in the first place. Even a link to the diff would be fine. At the moment it looks like I have added it as my name is linked straight after it. AIRcorn (talk) 22:13, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of SailGP

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SailGP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. IndusFish (talk) 16:47, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is one of the things I really hate about Wikipedia. A simple google search would establish that on the face of it, the SailGP is a notable event. Wikipedia isn't perfect, and just because an article isn't perfectly polished and finalised, it doesn't mean that it is junk.Mozzie (talk) 23:27, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

SailGP moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, SailGP, has no sources or citations and cannot remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) When you feel that it meets our notability and neutrality requirements, and is thus ready for mainspace, please submit it using the Articles for Creation template on the page. I am gradually going to add content to these - I feel it is more efficient to create these pages in bulk, but I seem to be spending more time being harassed about my contributions. Perhaps you could spend your time on something more productive instead of harassing other contributors? Might I suggest that you add a {{notability}} tag instead of moving all of the pages to draft space. Either that or you could spend the rest of your days trolling Wikipedia for the hundreds of thousands of other articles of similar lengths moving all of them to draft space.Mozzie (talk) 19:04, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Do not be discouraged. In general, I would suggest having at 2-3 sentences of text before creating the article (in mainspace). Feel free to move the articles back as and when you expand them. It is suggested that you do this by expanding the draft and then moving it, rather than adding content over the redirect in main space. This helps keep all the edit history together in one place. Notice

The article Robert Tucker (boat designer) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. PamD 11:43, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please also remember that if you create an article whose title needs a "disambiguator" like "(boat designer)" you should add it to the list in the disambiguation page at Robert Tucker so that people can find it. I've done so for this one. Thanks. PamD 11:48, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Castle 550 moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Castle 550, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. New articles generally need at least two (but preferably more) references from reliable sources that are independent of the subject that discuss the subject with significant coverage (trivial mentions do not contribute to notability).(See Rule 42) Information that can't be referenced to reliable sources should be removed from the draft because verifiability is necessary for information added to Wikipedia.
I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of Draft: before the article title) where you can work on the article with minimal disruption from other users while you improve it.
When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready to be published, you can move it back to the article space yourself. However, I recommend that instead of moving it yourself that you follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template that I have added to the page. This submits the article to be reviewed by experienced editors that specialize in helping new editors write their first articles. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here)(click me!) 03:31, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bruce Roberts-Godson moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Bruce Roberts-Godson, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Currently, it has only a single in-depth piece from an independent reliable source. I searched, but could not find more.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
