Image tagging for Image:PeppersGhost.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PeppersGhost.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Fair use rationale for Image:PeppersGhost.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PeppersGhost.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 11:28, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding edits to Acoustic Shards

[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, MrTaco! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule proboards\d{1,3}\.com, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. [edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Devildub.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Fair use disputed for Image:BrainCircusRERELEASE.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BrainCircusRERELEASE.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:34, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:DankoJones NeverTooLoudcover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use.

The article Bucketheadland Blueprints has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:N A demo album, later released with 500 copies. Also fails WP:V

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Untitled (Buckethead album)

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Untitled (Buckethead album) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. I've gone ahead and restored the redirect on the above referenced article. This has been done in accordance with the notability guidelines for albums, which can be found here. The redirect allows users to restore the content, once the subject has established notability. At this point, the subject does not meet notability in accordance with the topical notability guidelines or the general notability guidelines, which require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. When the album receives significant reliable and independent media coverage that establishes notability, the article may be restored. Short of redirecting the article, the option is to submit the article for community discussion, which would most likely result in deleting the content outright. I recommend that you work on finding sources that will serve to establish notability. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. Best regards, Cindy(talk to me) 18:40, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Give it a rest, will you? Check the reference link, the album is readily available for digital purchase at the url provided. A valid format in this day and age of digitally available music, the album is not unreleased. I don't see how much more notability it needs, the album has been released (albeit not in a physical medium) and info about it can be found by searching for it online. It's even found on YouTube. Stop reverting my edits, they are valid edits about a valid album from a valid artist. If you keep doing this, I'll keep undoing them, it's as simple as that. Buckethead's a credible performer who's been around for a long time now, not just some up-and-coming guitarist who's not "notable". MrTaco (talk) 14:02, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Please review the notability criteria for albums at WP:NALBUMS, as well as the general notability guidelines, which require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Notability is not established simply because it is released in any capacity let alone merely digital. You have a choice here. The guidelines call for redirecting the article to the artist. Outside of redirecting, the option is outright deletion. Which option do you prefer? Best regards, Cindy(talk to me) 13:37, 12 August 2012 (UTC) {edited to add: I have made an exhaustive search for possible reliable and independent sources to support notability for this album. Unfortunately, I have come up empty, finding only YT videos, forums, sales/download sites, and sites directly or indirectly associated with Buckethead. I'm inclined to submit the article for community discussion. I'll wait for your reply before doing so, since the end result of the discussion would be to redirect the article, which is where we currently stand.) Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:22, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
