why this article is in deletion category?
[edit]Regarding article ankush associate this article have less content of text for various information about organisation but it is not a ad it is an organisation or company in india which provide services for peoples and it is useful for peoples and persons who needs the information about organisation which is helpful so this article is doesn't come under deletion category if you have some problem then modify the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 106.210.79.117 (talk) 06:04, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Deletion of Sam Smyth
[edit]Hi I'm contacting you because as you were the admin that deleted Sam Smyth (at 04:06, 22 August 2010) on grounds of (G3: Vandalism) I had started working in my sandbox, on an article on this notable Irish journalist because it didn't exist. Because many of the bio sources are behind paywalls I wonder if you could do a TempUndelete of short duration so that I can access them and any other pertinent text. Reinventing wheels is a tedious and thankless task. I am aware that we live in diferent time zones so time is not of the essence. Thanks Cathar66 (talk) 16:10, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, Unfortunately there is only one deleted edit which is pure vandalism. There isn't anything of substance to restore. Thanks, Nakon 04:12, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Hey, you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Carlos Galvan (rapper) and Swings (rapper) but failed to delete either page. Swings (rapper) didn't have the AfD tag on it at all, so it shouldn't be deleted unless a new AfD is run, but I've put a {{db-xfd}} tag on Carlos Galvan (rapper). Cheers, ansh666 05:26, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello Nakon, thanks for closing this AFD, it was almost six weeks old. In the closing comment, you said that there was a consensus regarding a lack of significant coverage outside of the primary event in this article, but there were many participants who thought the article had sufficient sourcing to satisfy the general notability guidelines. Don't you think the outcome should have been no consensus or keep according to the general notability guidelines? Regards Nomian (talk) 15:04, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- Howdy, thanks for contacting me regarding the AFD close. My rationale as primarily based on User:Stalwart111's comments that outside of the single Presidential visit, there wasn't anything that would amount to significant notable relations between the two countries. If there's anything else I can clarify, please let me know. Nakon 23:11, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply Nakon. I think you have missed some other reliable sources where Iceland and Bangladesh discussed about their trade relations, these sources were not related to that presidential visit. And as I mentioned earlier, there were many participants who thought the article was notable according to the general notability guidelines. So shouldn't their judgments be considered as well along with Stalwart111? Regards Nomian (talk) 13:23, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- I apologize if my comment wasn't clear, but I did consider all of the comments in the discussion. However, I ultimately saw a stronger consensus to delete the article. Nakon 18:19, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

G13
[edit]When you examine for deletion under this criterion, do you think about whether there is potential for an article, or just delete based on the time span?I ask because you have been doing this at the rate of 12/minute, or 5 seconds each. DGG ( talk ) 23:56, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- I am not considering the potential for an article because the criteria for deletion under G13 does not mention that requirement. Nakon 00:02, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- it was approved on that basis. otherwise, why do you think it requires manual intervention. Do you do the same for expired prods? DGG ( talk ) 21:03, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- From what I can tell, that's not the case. If there was another later discussion regarding it, please let me know and I'll review it. I'll hold off on deleting any more of these for now. Nakon 23:08, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Hi there. You just deleted List_of_software_developed_by_Nintendo_Entertainment_Analysis_&_Development. Dyro artist page deleted
[edit]Hello Nakon, I'm mailing to enquire about the DJ Page for Dutch artist Dyro who I understand you deleted on the 21st Feb. Can I ask why you deleted the page? I represent Jordy (aka Dyro) for Press and PR. We're a very keen to get a new page live for his profile because for us the Wiki page is an important reference point for his global fans, many of which have commented to inform us that his page no longer exists.
Are you able to help here or do we need to speak with another wiki team member instead?

- Hello, This page was deleted as a result of a nearly month-long discussion. At the time of deletion, the article did not meet our notability criteria. If you feel this artist does meet our criteria, I would invite you to use our Articles for creation wizard to start a new article. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Hello. I noticed that you were the one who closed this AfD as delete. However, I feel that the consensus was not strong enough to warrant a delete result. At the very least, the AfD should have probably been relisted for another week.

- And did you notice there was no clear consensus to post, nor was the article (nor still is the article) in a fit state for main page inclusion? The Rambling Man (talk) 19:25, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- I agree that you were too hasty in posting. Unless there is a major breaking news story, it doesn't hurt to wait for at least 12-24 hours to give time for consensus to form and editors time to bash articles into shape. Mjroots (talk) 21:20, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hey all, I concur that I was too hasty to post the article. I definitely should have waited longer and I apologize for not following the proper procedure. I'm going to take some time to review the policies again and can promise that it won't happen again. Thanks, Nakon 21:42, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- Well, The Rambling Man and others who were involved. I'm really ashamed at calling myself a Wikipedian at seeing this sort of behaviour from other fellow Wikipedians. Yes, I was hasty, I know, but I have some good reason for that. When I started that article, I was facing some serious health issues but I still contributed, as I know it will benefit Wikipedia. I have created at least 2 GA, 1 FL, many DYKs and contributed to FPs, so I know how to start a nice article. I started that article and tried to expand Wikipedia's coverage. I could have improved that article to ITN standards but failed due to my health issues. The thing that hurted me more than my illness was, others behaviour in that ITN thread. Not a single editor who were involved in that discussion other than I and Nakon bothered to take a minute and improve that article so that it can meet the standard, no one! They have enough time to type lengthy lectures but they can't be bothered to fix it themself. I'm not the owner of that article and I'm not responsible to update it every time. We are here to build the encyclopedia, and content building is one of the fundamental, not the lecture. Our aim is to improve the coverage of Wikipedia by improving existing articles. I sometime get the impression from others that, "I'm not going to get credit for this work so why should I improve?". Look, credit is not what we are here for. I'm really ashamed when someone points out errors but they don't fix it themselves. Wikipedia is made by collaboration, not by a single person, so I really request you, Rambling Man and others who are following this discussion, to stop pointing out issues, and I encourage others to fix problems themself, there is no policy for this, I know, but use your common sense. Also, we work by rough consensus, not everytime you'll see crystal clear consensus. Best, Jim Carter 15:47, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- No-one is obligated to fix up articles. Some people may not have the ability, some may not have the interest, but some of us are just concerned with putting stub-quality articles onto the main page when no clear consensus existed. That's all. The Rambling Man (talk) 15:53, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Chethiya Wadugodapitiya
[edit]Can you please restore the article on Chethiya Wadugodapitiya, as I was just editing it to establish its notability (as I believe it complies with WP:RU/N). The article that should be deleted is Cthethiya Wadugodapitiya as it contains a spelling mistake in respect to the player's first name. It is not as simple as moving Cthethiya Wadugodapitiya as I had already made a number of substantial edits to the article on Chethiya Wadugodapitiya, including the addition of references. Changes this week
- The new version of MediaWiki has been on test wikis and MediaWiki.org since March 18. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis from March 24. It will be on all Wikipedias from March 25 (calendar).
- The text of a reference is now more visible when you click on it. It has a blue background. Many wikis already have the blue color. Those wikis can now remove it from their CSS page. [14]
- VisualEditor is now much faster. For many users it is now at least as fast as the wikitext editor. [15] [16] [17]
- When you add a list of references in VisualEditor, you now see it right away. You can still change its group by editing it. [18]
Meetings
- You can read the notes from the last meeting with the VisualEditor team.
- You can join the next weekly meeting with the VisualEditor team. During the meetings you can tell developers which bugs are the most important. The meeting will be on March 25 at 19:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- Talk pages using "LiquidThreads" on mediawiki.org will soon use the new system. [19]

Question about your close on Griffin
[edit]Hi, Nakon - at what noticeboard would it be appropriate to request a review of your close of the AfD G. Edward Griffin? I don't see how you found there was no consensus considering the notability of his two books which is all that is required per WP:AUTHOR. There were 15 valid KEEPs with 2 ??Keep, and only 5 Deletes with weak arguments and 2 weak Deletes. I don't understand your conclusion. Thanks in advance - Atsme☯Consult 06:53, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
I posted a request for review at AN, and was advised to take it to Deletion review, but before I do that, I would appreciate a response from you, which appears I'm obligated to do before I file the review. Thank you in advance... Atsme☯Consult 20:11, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thank for contacting me about this AFD. I spent a good amount of time on this one due to there being several previous AFD discussions and in the end, couldn't determine there was a clear enough consensus to keep the article. Specifically, the points made by JzG regarding the sources were strong enough to me to knock the AFD away from a clear keep decision. I would welcome a DRV discussion if you feel this was in error. Comment
[edit]Hello. I am new to Wikipedia and am pretty dumbfounded that our entry on an established artist who has created a new technique of painting was deleted from Wikipedia. We provided links to articles that have been written about his work. Before I was able to submit photos of the work and more documentation and links to other articles, the entry was deleted. The artist's technique is called lineillism. The artist is JCHall. Here is a link to his website as well... http://www.jchallart.com/1.html The only criticism I saw when I first posted the article was from someone objecting the sources of articles - which I feared was a typical bias all too often displayed by people in NYC and LA - feeling that any journalistic source outside of those cities is somehow not legitimate. I also had planned to add additional articles from the Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper, etc... Please advise how I can work to re-instate the entry. Anthony Watts (blogger)
[edit]You protected Anthony Watts (blogger) till March 30. The WP:BLPN discussion about the issue is now archived. Will it be correct then to return to the status quo ante, i.e. not labelling Mr Watts's blog as either "denialism" or "skeptic"? Peter Gulutzan (talk) 16:47, 29 March 2015 (UTC)
- Obviously, Nakon cannot simply make a lack of consensus into consensus. --JBL (talk) 20:17, 29 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced that a consensus developed throughout the course of the BLP discussion. Accordingly, I'm not going to be able to release the protection early. The discussion should probably be retrieved from the archives and allowed to continue for a few more days so a clearer consensus can be found. Nakon 00:36, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- I cannot imagine a less useful way for people to spend their time. Can we skip ahead to what happens when (inevitably) two factions in committed opposition continue to be unable to agree? --JBL (talk) 00:42, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- Nakon, thanks for answering but I'll rephrase to make it clearer this is only a conduct question. After protection is released, is it appropriate to remove both the new denialism-blog label and the new skepticism-blog label so we're back where we started while the arguing goes on again on the article talk page (as it already has)? Peter Gulutzan (talk) 02:21, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- It would not be appropriate to resume the edit war after the expiration of full protection as the BLP discussion did not result in a consensus. Discussion should continue on the article's talk page or appropriate noticeboard. Nakon 02:55, 30 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Nakon, I was reviewing the report filed at WP:AN3 on the above page when I saw you semi-protected the page, no doubt due to a report filed at WP:RFPP by the filer of the report at AN3. I'm not asking you to undo the protection, but when reviewing the report, it struck me that (1) an autoconfirmed user edit-warred just as much as the IP and (2) I don't see a clear justification for removing the IP's post in the first instance. Having read some comments at AN3, I can see why such a post may have frustrated users, but frustration isn't a basis for removing a post from an article Talk page and certainly not a basis for edit-warring about it. In any event, those editors who thought the IP's post lacked any scientific basis could have simply ignored it. Nothing compels editors to respond to such a post.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:17, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- Howdy, I found the edits on the talk page to be disruptive to the point that a temporary semi protection was needed. I'm willing to lessen or remove the protection if you feel that would be acceptable as well. Nakon 02:03, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response, but Swarm has deftly taken care of the problem at WP:AN3.--Bbb23 (talk) 04:21, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
Elm Guest House child abuse scandal
[edit]Please revert your full protection of the page. The page has been edited for many months by a number of established and conscientious editors. The only current dispute is a very minor one, over whether two individuals named in the article should also be named in the lede. I repeat, it is a minor - and inconsequential - disagreement between one or two editors. There are much more important matters - like this - that need to be included in the article, but until the level of protection is reduced that cannot be done. Concerns regarding Bobherry
[edit]I currently have concerns regarding Bobherry use of rollback, and seeing how you granted him to tool back, I thought i would bring it up with you.
Some examples:
- [37] Adding a 4im when the user already has one.
- [38] 4im'ing a user who was changing the gender pronouns in a article about a Trans person when they only had a uw1.
- [39]Feeding a troll in clear violation of WP:DENY
- [40] adding a 4im to a IP that has not been warned since 2013
With all this, and his actions today regarding April Fools, I do not think he is ready, nor mature enough for rollback at current. Thanks, TheMesquitobuzz 03:43, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Mishae
[edit]...I don't know if it would affect your block (and indeed, people have been inordinately patient, and a block was probably imminent anyways for various reasons) but Mishae did more-or-less immediately self-edit their inappropriate comment. It was pretty disgusting (Godwin's law and all) but they did immediately fix it themselves. Again, a block was probably coming for WP:CIR reasons unrelated to calling others Nazis, but the Nazi comment was undone right away. We normally don't block specifically for such actions when the person immediately self corrects. Just thought you should know. I have no desire to undo it, but it's something to consider. --Jayron32 05:48, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Nakon, I don't understand how procedurally you could have unblocked this user without a consensus to do so. As I'm sure you noticed, there is a history, not only of the account, but of other administrators' views on what the user had to do to be unblocked, one from UtherSRG at the end of February, and another from Ohnoitsjamie from the end of March. Your unblock summary said only that it was per the basic offer, and your comment on the user's Talk page did not shed any more light on your reasoning. Unless there's a discussion that you didn't cite, I don't get it.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:59, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) The user only really had one declined unblock, in Nov.2014 -- the two more recent simply pointed him towards UTRS, where he correctly headed (UTRS appeal #13276). There was indeed an AN/I discussion [41], which Nakon probbaly just forgot to link to in their unblock reason. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 18:12, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of TalkLocal -- may I rewrite less controversially?
[edit]Hi Nakon,
I'm the user who wrote the recently-deleted TalkLocal article.
I'll be honest-- I am a TalkLocal employee; I'm following orders to maintain their Wikipedia article. I'm hoping that I can rewrite it under terms that are agreeable to senior editors like yourself and DGG (who nominated it for deletion). What I originally wrote contained questionable sources (i.e. company profile pages) and promotional language. I've learned my lesson about these policy violations and I do not intend to repeat them, but TalkLocal is notable enough for an article, given the amount of independent journalistic attention it has attracted (I can send you articles if you don't believe me).
I'm wondering if there's any agreement we could reach to ensure that the article goes back up while obeying policy. Two ideas on how to do this:
1. Supervision during the writing process (i.e. submitting a draft for approval before uploading). 2. Submitting a list of journalistic sources to a third-party editor and having them write the article instead.
If there's another way to do this that I didn't think of, let me know; I'll probably agree to it. No one at our company wants to use a TalkLocal Wikipedia article as an advertisement. As I said, we've learned our lesson. We just want a factual article, and we pass the standards for one.
I hope we can reach an agreement on this issue, and I apologize for any controversy caused by my or my company's actions on Wikipedia.
Thanks,
