Orphaned non-free media (Image:Deadshot (Batman-Gotham Knight).jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Deadshot (Batman-Gotham Knight).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:48, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:202 7.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:202 7.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?Wordbuilder (talk) 19:10, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Summer Glau-AllsonYoung(TTSCC).jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Summer Glau-AllsonYoung(TTSCC).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Q T C 02:51, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:The Flash (The Batman).jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the What Goes Up (film) article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.3 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:58, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Jaycee_Dugard.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Jaycee_Dugard.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rockfang (talk) 07:43, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have marked this file for speedy deletion; I don't see how the fair use rationale applies. She is alive and there is no valid reason to believe that she cannot be photographed today.  Frank  |  talk  21:48, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the above image

[edit]

May I ask why you did this? The page was asking for assistance. I fixed the license issue. It is a non-free/fair use image. As such, it needs a rationale.--Rockfang (talk) 07:55, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:RedRobin7.jpg

[edit]

I have tagged File:RedRobin7.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. Otherwise, it will be deleted in seven days. Rockfang (talk) 18:12, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Jaycee Dugard.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Frank  |  talk  21:49, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Fictional history of Dick Grayson. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fictional history of Dick Grayson. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blunt request

[edit]

If you are going to upload scans you have made, of comics or of anything else, do not photoshop elements into them. It pretty much makes them unusable.

And if you are finding them that way double check how you are filling out the fair use rationale. Either you aren't citing the original source of the published image or you are passing off something you copped from a website as your own scanning.

Thanks

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello NeoBatfreak! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 331 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

The Final Destination

[edit]

Wording like "believed to be" is original research, weasel-y, and violates WP:CRYSTAL. That wording implies there is likely going to be a sequel and, truth is, there is no hard evidence to support this. Unless and until a sequel is announced, the only wording we can use is "it is" as that does not imply that there may be a sequel. --132 02:54, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. You just uploaded an image called Sinestro's_White_Power_Ring.jpg‎ and added it to the power ring page. Please don't take offense, but the quality of the image is somewhat poor. I've reverted your latest edits on the article. They constitute original research, which is not acceptable here. That includes personal thoughts and opinions, speculative statements (see WP:CRYSTAL) and so on, that are not published in third-party reliable sources. The following are examples of speculative statements:

She would've killed Yang Buhui as well if hadn't met an interference from a young Zhang Wuji, who took the girl into hiding after the death of her mother.

The conflict is gradually subsides after Abbess Miejue's death, Zhang Wuji various noble actions proves to the Emei Sect that not all of Ming Cult members are wicked and their teacher was wrong of her prejudices, and the eventual marriage between Ji Xiaofu's daughter and Yin Liting.

Please provide some references to support those statements, if you want them back. Alternatively, you can rewrite those statements to make them appear less "speculative", but this is not advisable. There's quite a lot of original research in the article already, so please don't add more. I don't think you'd want to be involved in an edit war, so forcing back your edits is definitely not the best solution to the problem. You can either discuss the issue on my talk page or on the article's talk page. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 04:41, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Images problem

[edit]

By replacing the character images I've uploaded, you've caused them to become orphans and now they're tagged for deletion. If I were replace your images again, they're going to end up in the same way. It's not possible to use an image for the character that will suit everyone's preference. Some people might think Huang Xiaoming is the best Yang Guo, while others might think Louis Koo or Andy Lau is the best. Then they'll start changing the pictures and the old ones will have to go, and this makes the people who uploaded the original images become very unhappy. I think to make this fair for everyone, we shall not use any more images for the characters. This is to avoid an image-changing war. Please propose the character images you've uploaded for deletion. The DVD covers can stay. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 04:51, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Look, it's not about better resolution or anything. Anyway, whatever images from films or TV series that we upload, they're all copyrighted. And I don't want to start an image-changing war, because each time someone uploads a new picture, the old picture will no longer serve any purpose and will be listed for deletion. This will make the uploader unhappy and he/she might force the old image back, and the new image will have to go, and the second uploader becomes unhappy. To make this fair for everyone, I think it'd be better if we all do not upload pictures for the characters. How's that for a compromise? 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 05:20, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not make any further changes until we come to a conclusion here first. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 05:27, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You don't seem to understand the situation that I foresee in the future. Let me use an analogy to explain. There're 3 people (A,B,C). A uploads image A because he thinks A suits the article best. B disagrees and uploads image B because he thinks image B represents the article better. Image A become useless, because the file's non-free use rationale states clearly that the file is meant for identifying the article. Now that an alternative (image B) is present, image A becomes redundant and is listed for deletion. Just then, C disagrees with B's picture and uploads image C. Image B ends up in the same way as image A. A and B are unhappy and they force back their respective images and the whole situation turns out to become a war about changing images between the three of them. I don't wish to see this situation, so to be fair for all three of them, the best solution is of course, for the three of them to back out and stop adding new pictures. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 05:34, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Collages is another possible solution. However, some images are really hard to find, especially for the older TV series and films from the 50s and 60s. If we're going to use collages, then we must make sure that every actor who played the character before must be represented. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 05:36, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a overseas Chinese from Singapore. To summarize my points above, we need to come up with a solution that's fair for everyone. Either no single actor is solely represented, or all actors are represented. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 05:41, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well? Are you going to propose for deletion the character pictures that you've uploaded? Or would you like me to help you? You can enable twinkle in your preferences and use it to propose the files for deletion faster. In the rationale, you can probably put "Uploader requests deletion." 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 05:53, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, is it fine if I help you list the pictures for deletion? I need your permission. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 05:58, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've only watched 1983 (Felix Wong and Barbara Yung), 1994 (Julian Cheung and Athena Chu) and 2003 (Li Yapeng and Zhou Xun) versions. The 2003 version is the first part of a trilogy produced by Zhang Jizhong. You provided the DVD covers for all three of them. I've watched only a few episodes of the 2008 version when it was shown on TV, so I can't comment much. The action scenes are somewhat nicer, that's all I can say. It's a personal preference.. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 06:49, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think there'll be a follow-up to the 2008 version. The songs, well, you can either record it from the series, if you've it. If not, maybe you can go to any music downloading websites and search for them.

Hi, please see if you can help me find a VCD/DVD cover for this series. If you're getting images from the net, please make sure that the website's logo cannot be seen. Some images have the logo in one corner. Thanks. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 07:19, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Condor Trilogy articles

[edit]

Thanks for informing that Zhou Zhiruo has been proposed for deletion. I've started a discussion on the talk page to contest the deletion. I'd also like to thank you for your contributions to Condor Trilogy articles, especially for those related to The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber. However, I feel that you still have a tendency to add original research (OR) and redundant information at times. Going into unnecessary details about the characters, such as details on their love relationships, personal thoughts etc, isn't going to be helpful in improving the quality of the articles. It won't be much different from providing a complete translation of the novel. That's not what articles on Wikipedia seek to achieve.

Right now, I hope you can assist me in preventing such articles from being deleted on the grounds that they fail WP:NOTE or constitute OR. Firstly, please provide citations and references for information that you add. Chronology of Jin Yong's novels is an example that you can follow. You can see there, that my friend User:Newfraferz87 has included citations some of the statements there. If you can do the same for List of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber characters (an article that you frequently edit), it'd be great.

I hope you can seriously consider my advice against including OR and redundant information in articles. Also, let me express my gratitude to you for your contributions to Condor Trilogy articles once again. Thanks, and I hope you can help me in providing citations and references for the articles. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 04:54, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed

[edit]

As you've probably noticed, Zhou Zhiruo is going to be nominated for an AFD soon by the same editor who proposed it for deletion earlier. I don't think you'd want our efforts to go to waste just like that, because Zhang Wuji, Zhao Min and other character articles are likely to face the same fate as Zhou Zhiruo if the AFD succeeds. Here's something more useful that I think you can do, rather than adding information to List of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber characters and etc all the time. Try to find secondary sources to demonstrate Zhou Zhiruo's notability. The novel, Baidu Baike and Wuxiapedia are not sufficient to save the article, although they can be counted as sources. I'm busy with studies and will be spending much less time on Wikipedia than previously from now. I hope you can help me, since you appear to have more time than me to search for secondary sources, judging from the amount of effort you spent reading the novel or watching TV series to add in such detailed information about the characters almost everyday. I really appreciate your help. Thanks. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 13:08, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've found some sources containing interesting information about Zhou Zhiruo, that I think can be added into the article. However, they're in Chinese and need to be translated. I assume you read Chinese well, so I hope you can help me with the translation. If you require assistance, you can find my friend Newfraferz87, but I think he'll also be quite busy. I'll pop in whenever I can to help out. Thanks. Here're the websites:

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. The same goes for the Jason Todd article. You cannot add your best guesstimates to an article; they must be cited beyond a primary, observational source. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 21:38, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You are evaluating the motivations of characters and events outside of solid referencing, You can reference the primary source in order to point out major plot points, not make connections yourself. Additionally, there arises the problem of having too much information in the article, detailing excessively the plot of a story. It isn't necessary. If the reader wants to discover the story for themselves, we let them; we don't do it for them. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 02:57, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A Weaver on the Horizon (2010 TV series)

[edit]

Hi, I've helped you put all the cast and roles in table form. I think you can shorten the descriptions. They look untidy if they're too long. Maybe four or five short sentences will do. Cheers! Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 06:56, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correction. Two or three short sentences should be sufficient. It's not necessary to provide so much details about the series, because there'll be no point for people to watch it if they can simply know everything by reading Wikipedia. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 07:02, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia sections

[edit]

I've removed trivia sections from the TV series articles. Such information shouldn't appear on encyclopedic articles, because they undermine the quality of the articles. Sorry about the effort you put in to fill in those sections. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 07:56, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do something...

[edit]

Please do something about the cast section of A Weaver on the Horizon. Some of the descriptions are too long. I don't think it's necessary to go into so much detail about the relationships between the characters. It's better to let people watch the series and find out for themselves. As a suggestion, you might want to try including all of your changes in a single edit and then saving the article, rather than making each change into a separate edit. If you would like to check to see how your edits will look before you save, you can use the preview button. This way, your edits don't end up clogging up the recent changes page or the page history. A tag has been placed on File:The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the file is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. License tagging for File:Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman (soundtrack).jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman (soundtrack).jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:06, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Aaron Ashmore as Henry Janes Olsen.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —KuyaBriBriTalk 22:13, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Aaron Ashmore as Henry James Olsen.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Aaron Ashmore as Henry James Olsen.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. [edit]

I have tagged File:The_Legend_of_the_Condor_Heroes_(2008_TV_series)_(intertitle).jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. feydey (talk) 10:33, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jillian Pearlman has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The fictional character does not meet the general notability guideline and, without reception and significance in reliable secondary sources independent of the subject, the topic of the article is not suitable for Wikipedia as a stand-alone article since it falls into WP:IINFO.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Startling by Each Step (novel)

[edit]

Is this really in the style of science fiction or is it fantasy? If the character just jumps backwards and forwards in time, this may be just a plot device and neither of these genres. Another area to cover is the the response by critics or sales figures. It is interesting that it is published by so many publishers. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:28, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It could be both science fiction and fantasy. Look for another time travel TV series, Tru Calling, its about another girl who also time travels, after the deceased has ask of for help, ended up rewind a day backward to stop that person from dying. Fans of that show labeled as both science fiction and fantasy.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 21:43, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You keep getting this because I keep removing the picture. Per WP:NONFREE and WP:FUC, all non-free images require critical commentary on that image. There is no critical commentary on the cover art for the soundtrack. Additionally, WP:MOSFILM#Soundtrack actually states that cover art for soundtrack infoboxes are not to be used in film articles, because the poster for the film already acts as an illustration of the page topic.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 03:51, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Buffy edits

[edit]

Hi. I see you've been busy on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer pages, but your editing style is causing problems; you seem to take several edits to complete one new sentence (repeatedly). Please consider carefully what you are trying to say before you say it; use the sandbox, or write first in a word-processing program, or something! Are you using the Preview feature before you save your edits? You're clogging up the Revision History page with multiple edits for the same sentence or thought, and even still, I've had to correct many of those sentences for grammatical or sense reasons anyway. It might be a good idea to check in at the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Buffyverse page to see what's going on, and to look at other articles which have been thoroughly edited and/or upgraded to GA or even FA status to see what the Buffyverse Project is aiming for. I've also had to remove one completely illegible image (from "Gone"). It looked as though it had been photographed off your TV. It would also be a good idea to go back to see what corrections have been made to your edits (check your Watchlist), so you can get a better idea of how to write and see how problems are solved. We need people to make these pages better, but please be sure you're not making them worse when you decide to make a change. Thanks.--TEHodson 21:52, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please make sure that when you write, at least on the Buffy pages, you do so in grammatically correct English. I don't have the time to rewrite everything you insert, so am going to just continue to revert nonsensical and improperly written sentences and phrases. The Buffy pages are in desperate need of improvement, but adding unnecessary detail to plot summaries, fan cruft in general, and poor English in particular, doesn't help.--TEHodson 18:25, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not great with grammer

That is the problem I have since childhood. It is my learning disability and have to get myself some writing tutors thoughout school.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 18:28, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If basic writing skills are a problem, you should not be writing on an encyclopedia. I don't mean to be harsh, but being able to write is a minimum requirement here at Wikipedia. I beg you to stop--you are creating tons of unnecessary work for me and the others who follow you around, cleaning up after you. At least stop on the Buffy pages, which are in enough trouble without people making them worse. I have had to rewrite or revert dozens of your edits already. Please, please stop. And please leave replies to messages on your Talk page on your Talk page, not mine, so that conversations make sense--can you see that at the top of this page it tells you that if I've left a message on your page, answer there?--TEHodson 18:42, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

COPIED FROM MY TALK PAGE: PLEASE CONTINUE CONVERSATION HERE, NOT THERE:

Fine, I'll just stick with uploading screen captures then. Angel episodes needs some images to illustrate.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 18:50, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That would be great. Please note my multiple requests that the conversation continue where it started, here on your Talk page. I don't really know what to do with someone who ignores clear requests, and who can't write. Regarding images, just make sure there aren't any Fair Use issues. Your page is covered with messages about images: I hope you understand Wikipedia's policies regarding images. Are you sure screen captures are allowed? And please make sure the images are legible. Thanks.--TEHodson 18:57, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Ghostwriter (TV series). Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. --Kbir1 (talk) 02:31, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion

[edit]

Hey, why don't you create Template:YangKangFamilytree just like for Template:GuoJingFamilytree and copy the template title itself to those articles? It'll help to free up a lot of space. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 06:53, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. In List of Flashpoint (comics) characters, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Penultimate (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Reader assumptions.

[edit]

If the text you are going to add needs the phrase "...implying..." or something similar, do not add it. It is a clear sign that you are making an assumption and pushing it with the article.

Startling by Each Step

[edit]

Hello NeoBatfreak, I thank you for your interest in the GOCE and in improving articles through copy editing. I'm a bit busy at this time and do not have much extra time to help you with the copy editing. I imagine that I will have more time starting mid- to late January, and I would be able to help you then. I would recommend asking another mentor to help you out if you would like to have the article worked on sooner than that. Happy editing, and Happy New Years to you too! --Tea with toast (話) 03:46, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well there is not much to change. It seems you have followed their directions well. I went ahead and tweaked what I could, though. Dasani 23:32, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I've reviewed the report you filed at abuse reports and I'm afraid I don't see why this would warrant contact with the user's ISP. There don't appear to be any blocks on the IP. However, any ongoing incidents of vandalism may be reported to WP:AIV where an administrator can block or warn the user if necessary. Alternatively, feel free to warn the user yourself. Thanks! Your Abuse Response Filing

[edit]

Greetings! Thank you for filing an Abuse Report for abusive behavior originating from 152.226.6.204. Unfortunately, there was a problem with your filing and it has been rejected. Please see Wikipedia:Abuse response/152.226.6.204 for details on why the filing was rejected. You may also review filing criteria for abuse reports filings.--Damirgraffiti |☺Say Yo to Me!☺ 22:29, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Overcategorisation

[edit]

I appreciate your efforts in categorising articles on adaptations of Jin Yong's works. However I feel that you've overcategorised them. For example, I thought it's fine to just group all the adaptations of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber under "Category:Adaptations of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber". I don't see the point of taking an additional step to separate the adaptations into film and television. Why don't you nominate the film and television categories for deletion and group all the articles under their respective "Adaptations of whichever novel" categories? Edit summaries: Final request

Please, please, please leave edit summaries, at least on the Buffy pages, where some of us are actively editing. Thank you.--TEHodson 00:46, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

- J Greb (talk) 06:42, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

If you do not start immediately writing edit summaries on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer pages, I will request that you be blocked from editing Wikipedia. I cannot understand why you refuse to follow any rules, no matter how simple they may be, but you are making yourself a colossal nuisance and making enemies as well. Why? How long does it take to type "Added image"? Do it or get off those pages I have anything to do with. If you can't follow even the most basic Wikipedia protocols, you don't belong here.

And for Christ's sake, set up an archive for this talk page. Thank you.--TEHodson 09:16, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
