This is your Talk page where you can receive messages from other Wikipedians and discuss things with them. At the end of your messages you must put your signature by signing with four ~~~~ (just as I have done) or by pressing the button in the editor bar as shown here in the picture. By the way, you don't need to sign edits that you make in the articles themselves as those messages will be deleted. Another valuable page that may provide information and assistance is User:Persian Poet Gal/"How-To" Guide to Wikipedia. My name is Buster7. If you have any questions or face any initial hurdles, feel free to contact me on my talk page and I will do what I can to assist or give you guidance and contact information. Good Luck editing!

Life Insurance

[edit]

From your comments, you clearly have the dawning of an understanding of AVL Trees. Perhaps you should consider topping up your life insurance policy. The life expectancy for those aware of AVL is not too flash.NNcNannara (talk) 03:15, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your table in Endianness

[edit]

I understand endianness pretty well. As a student, I figured out what was going on when a BASIC program under RSTS on a PDP-11 showed me one thing, but Fortran programs would show the other. These days, I have a little bit on endianness that's included when I teach use of a debugger or a disk hex editor. I even added some to the current article, including mention of the bizarre "mixed endian" nature of the 1401. I am sorry to say that your table, massive amount of work that it obviously was, leaves me completely confused as to what it's trying to tell me. I believe the reason is that the representations of the actual data being talked about are lost in annotations. Perhaps some font size changes would help to distinguish the annotations and legends from the data. Jeh (talk) 16:49, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am really sorry about that. The foregoing sections handle the difference how a data item is recorded in memory in Big-Endian vs. Little-Endian systems. The table tries to tell the other way around: If you read 2 recorded (dumped) bytes, how are they to be interpreted. The upper 3 rows only give orientation about data type and offsets, the latter as byte and bit offsets. Rows 4 and 5 handle Big-Endian and Rows 6 to 9 Little-Endian. Columns 2 to 4 show the data in the piece of hexdump. I have made some changes in the table. --Nomen4Omen (talk) 19:20, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

tree traversal

[edit]

The article tree traversal is horrible, but this does not mean it is OK to increase the mess.

Wikipedia does not accept self-published references; see WP:RS.

There is other pseudocode, but I it is mostly for standard descriptions found in books. If something is not from books, it must be deleted.

But there is larger problem with the addition: its questionable notability. Any algorithm may be implemented in numerous ways. Wikipedia is encyclopedia, not FSF repository. It gives basic descriptions of ideas of algortihms. The arguments from your addition (callbacks are cumbersome, tree traversed only in full) are about minor implementation tweaks, contributing nothing new to the idea of the algorithms themselves. If there is any significant algorithmic novelty, I didn't see it, however I admit I may be mistaken.

Finally, article content must be discussed in article talk pages, where other editors may see the discussion and join it, not in user talk pages. - üser:Altenmann >t 15:33, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, please do not add unreferenced text to wikipedia. It is against the rules and it will be always deleted. - üser:Altenmann >t 20:34, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Altenmann is a real pit bull it seems. Totally on himself.NNcNannara (talk) 03:40, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is a page for tree traversal; however, there doesn't appear to be a page for tree iteration. The algorithms for iteration can be found in AVL Trees in Java or the equivalent C++ and C# pages. Iteration is the primary reason for adding parent references to a tree.NNcNannara (talk) 10:56, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tree traversal

[edit]

What are "W", "S", "E" supposed to mean in Tree traversal? I find them rather confusing; aren't "L", "N", "R" sufficient? - Jochen Burghardt (talk) 18:20, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Should be! W,S,E is more related to the figure, where red, yellow, green is already introduced. But there are people who are not able to distinguish colors.
Both, WSE and the colors are intended to explain L,N,R which is not equivalent and is closer to the literature.
I was very much astonished about the changes of 84.246.203.253 who apparently had not understood how it works.
But finally, I beat twice or even four times and of course still do not know whether it will be understood.
And I agree: WSE can be omitted.
Done. –Nomen4Omen (talk) 18:44, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit at Trigonometric functions

[edit]

Hello! I've just seen, in the article on Trigonometric functions, how you rearranged the table of Simple Algebraic Values, and added a couple more values; nice work! I do notice that in the new table, two rows--π/8 and 3π/8--are shaded differently from the others. Did you mean to do that? If you did, I'd be curious to know the reason (and maybe something should go in the article). If you didn't mean to do it, well, it seems to be the result of a VERY tiny coding detail--different from the others. In that case, it would be about two minutes' work to fix it. Uporządnicki (talk) 12:25, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Uporządnicki: Thank you for finding this detail. It is not from me, and I do not know the reason for it. Maybe it stems from kind of a zebra table. In my opinion you may play around with it and look for some nice version or remove it. –Nomen4Omen (talk) 12:49, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed! It was very simple, as I thought. In those two rows, the captions and data were on the same (coding) line, separated by two pipes. In all the other rows, after the captions, the data went on a new line which started with a single pipe. Uporządnicki (talk) 12:56, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Carmicheal Function; edit reverse

[edit]

Thanks for reverting that edit. Just realized that the connection between prime root modulo and the Carmicheal function is that lambda(n) is equal to the prime root modulo when lambda(n) = phi(n). Though prime root module is a math term.[1]

LofASof (talk) 14:42, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So sorry, in the source[1] you gave, I only saw the terms «primitive root of a modulus» or «primitive root modulo», but NEVER «prime root module» NOR «primitive root module». So you would have to look for other sources to convince me. ―Nomen4Omen (talk) 14:55, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, it was more of a comment that the term itself does exist. The original post was more of an acknowledgment of my error.

You have added short cite to "Mehlhorn & Sanders 2008" but no such source is listed in the bibliography. Can you please add? Also, suggest installing a script to highlight such errors in the future. December 2021

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Binary search tree. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. WikiLinuz🍁(talk) 19:49, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome to file another 3O request once there's been more of a dialogue, or pursue other forms of dispute resolution. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 14:14, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Arkustangens und Arkuskotangens

[edit]

Also liegt hier definitiv keine Theoriefindung vor.
