Attacks in the article Denise Garfield
[edit]Please do not make personal attacks on other people as you did at Denise Garfield. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. I did NOT make a personal attack on Mrs Garfield. I stated something true (that she was widely regarded as the most eccentric history teacher at Loyola Academy). Last I checked, eccentric was _not_ an insult. Maybe you don't know her personally, but if you did I'm sure you would understand.Obstructio 00:50, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, maybe "personal attacks" was not the best way for Butseriouslyfolks to have phrased that, but "eccentric" is definitely used sometimes in a derogatory manner (and we get a lot of students writing bad articles about their teachers here). In any case, I didn't delete the article for being an attack page, but simply because it does not show her notability among teachers. What we need to have an article on her is some sort of reliable source (preferably more than one) that explains what her importance is in the world of teaching. Has she won national/state awards? Has she written books, or been interviewed on television/in books for her work? There are thousands of teachers out there, and while you may know of her personally at Loyola, our standards here require that there be some defining characteristic that we can point at and say "See? This is why it is important to have an article on Denise Garfield from Loyola Academy." Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions. -- nae'blis 16:27, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I can understand that. Thanks for that. Obstructio 22:33, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
